And here you are, taking images of the lens I am thinking of buying. Thanks for showing how close you have to get since its a wide angle zoom. So helpful. Thanks.
Superb video! Seen so many of the Sigma 16-28, a lens I'm looking at buying, and this was hands down the best. Not just showing the pics but how you took them. Thank you.
Thanks Pye! Even though this particular lens won't fit my camera, I enjoyed the video. Kind of felt like going on a photo walk for some improv-photography. The video caught my eye, because I'm never really happy with my wide angle photos;. Even when I get close to the subject, wide angle photos always have all kinds of garbage in the background that is too in-focus. My wide angle lens is f/4, but I don't think f/2.8 would make all that much difference. I like how you used things like cave walls, building arches and tree branches to hide boring skies and other background garbage.
What lens would you recommend for my type of up close unboxing and review videos? I’m thinking Sigma 16-28 but you mention distortion close up. Currently using iPhone about 26mm but there’s no distortion. Maybe because of small sensor or software correction automatically
Really like the video. I've been shooting with 20mm prime and loving it. What's to be gained by going to the zoom (vs prime) for street/travel photography? If you look at your focal lengths, did you tend to shoot wide open, at 28mm or somewhere in the middle?
I'm looking for a wide zoom to compliment my sigma 85mm. I was leaning to the 20mm 1.8 but now I think I will go with this lens will check all the boxes . I love your video style, it's like your an instructor.
haha is funny that he is doing a review of a WIDE LENS and he keeps complaining on the wide angle hahaha IT IS A WIDE ANGLE LENS, i guess he should look for pictures that could use that. Also he keeps showing off that he is completely in Manual mode but all the pictures are underexposed, I guess aperture priority would be fine, don't you think?
If only it were weather sealed. I'd happily pay another £100 for that on this lens. I know there's the Sigma Art 14-24 if that's what's wanted. Which is the way I'd probably go.
Those are beautiful shots. Your use of the wide angle really shows the lens to good advantage. 💯❤️
Thank you Melani! I felt like it was subpar personally, haha. But hopefully it gave you guys a good glimpse at the lens.
Very excited to take this lens out for some astro-landscape photography backpacking trips! Nothing else like it in its weight class...
these were really good tips on street photography! Pye is the man!

hi Pye those where prayers on the cross not wishes, also what are gliders? thank you
Haha, I didn't mean to offend. The sign said prayers, troubles, hopes, and wishes.
I clicked to get more info on this lens but ended up actually learning a lot about photography and feeling good about it being a hobby!
Just purchased this lens to replace a couple wide angle primes. The size is so convenient!

No better place to test a lens than Laguna Beach, CA! Nice one !
How is it for weddings
This vs the sony 16-25g, autofocus the same?

Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for the review. I have now purchased and very happy with this lens.
Great use of a wide lens, love the way you framed that cave shot. Magic 👏👏
Thanks Ross!
useful content.
Thank you!
great shot
I really like the look that wide angle lenses give. I have the older Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 and love it. 👌🏼
It's a good lens, definitely creates unique imagery.
Is this lens compitable with gh5 mii series? 🤔
This lens is great for the sony zv-e10. Not bad lens for night club photography
That would be a solid use!
Are you stacking the ocean/rock shots to get everything in focus?
No, there was no focus stacking or editing tricks. Just RAW images, and some had Lightroom. We wanted to just showcase what the lens could do.
Thanks for watching! What would you like to learn next?
Miniature Photography
Product photography esp with natural light

I have the Sigma 16mm F/1.4 DC DN Lens on aps c a6400 Sony One of the best lens in my camera bag.Liked your video.Gill
I love all your tips and tricks you could not at one point try to edit some of our photos
Great tutorial. The 26-28mm range i found needs a lot of skill, otherwise you end up having photos like u take from your smartphone lol
True!
I heard this lens vignettes hard at 16mm. Is it true?
Vignettes not that bad, but distorts pretty good at 16mm.
good cam
Indeed.
Hope's and wishes??! Prayers
Haha, I didn't mean to offend. My apologies.

Appreciate it!

That would have been nice.
Meh. Don’t really see the big deal with that. Just protect your gear.
