    Alan Moore made me love comics. He did things that others were too afraid to try. Now they all mimic his style and copy his work.

    I like how The Simpsons had a "Lost Girls" poster behind him. One of his more (Moore?) obscure works.

    Imagine if Alan Moore could recouncile with DC, and produce amazing DC stories again. But I guess it would never happen...

    I still think the Watchmen film adaptation is great. Not flawless but still damn good. No regrets.

      it's a shallow on-screen reproduction of a comic written and drawn specifically to never be adaptable. but, sure, it's okay.

      The comic is more poignant and nostalgic than the movie ever was for me and there's something of a poetry to it that and a possibility of hope even at the end with the possibility of the doomsday clock being reset. Even when Moore and Gibbons took a scalpel to the concept of the superhero throughout Watchmen you can tell they have a fondness and affection for that same concept. The movie comes up short in that regards to the above for me.

      some of them might be decent movies but they fail as adaptations since, at least from the ones I've seen (Killing Joke, V for Vendetta, Watchmen,) they invariably and entirely miss the point of the original stories.

    • @cha5
      @cha5 Před 7 lety +1

      Well with a big corporation that has had about as much business ethics as the mafia much of the time (which was what the comic book industry was founded by) big surprise.
      These days Moore hates both DC and Marvel by the way pretty equally, although he certainly worked a longer time at DC.
      As for his best work? Outside of Watchmen a large percentage of that is outside of a mainstream company like DC these days.
