I washed my hands off Ross the moment he cheated on Demelza with Elizabeth.

I agree. Dwight is the better man and I've enjoyed his relationship with Caroline more than Ross's relationship with Demelza which seems to stuck in a cycle of Ross neglecting his wife somehow and trying to make up for it only to do it all over again.

Instead of a nurse there is Caroline, a noble woman, with looks that have only a few of us. This relationship is so pure and with so much integrity that I wish to live my life again with a man like Dwight.

The first Dwight in the 70s version was absolutely gorgeous, played by an actor called Richard Morant. he left after the first series and when he came back from France he was played by a different actor. Richard Morant was to die of a brain aneurysm in the early 2000s.
The actors who played Dwight and Caroline in the new Poldark were perfect in every way. I’m old enough to remember being a teenage girl who swooned over the original Ross Poldark played by Robin Ellis who played Dr. Halse in the most recent Poldark series. Dwight and Caroline didn’t register with me back then. However, the new Dwight (Luke Norris) and Demelza (Elinor Tomlinson) are the moral centers of the entire new series. Too bad Winston Graham didn’t write a series of books about Dwight. Ross Poldark might be the swashbuckling hero of the story, but Dwight is the person who helps Ross from acting out on his worst or at least poorly thought out impulses and becomes his salvation in many ways. Yup, this man deserves his own series. (He’s also extremely sexy!)
