Series 5 was a total let down

It was a mistake to bring these into the series , series 5 was not as good cos of it, got too political, shud have concentrated on the feud between Ross and George to its conclusion , we were all waiting for that, after all it was only an adaptation, didnt have to literally follow the book, great series tho , ended rather too abruptly

I can't find this to watch.

The first series I have ever binged watched, gave up on everything else before. Very well put together TV show, providing employment for many young aspiring (and posh) actors. The Joanie plot was very well done.

😅 I'm loving this series. I grew up 5,282 miles west of Grantchester. Riverbank, California. But, despite the geographical distance, it was close in many ways. I was a kid in the 1950s. Riverbank was a small town. We didn't know much, but the problems were there. Anyway, great show. 🎉

What’s with the horrible music drowning out everything they’re saying?? AWFUL!!

Around that time trade merchants were making big money as the British empire expanded and many were aristocrats but many were not like the Warleggans of Poldark. These merchants rose into high society due to their wealth but were never really accepted as aristocrats like George by the aristocracy. The industrial revolution and inventions were in full swing then and society was changing towards democracy and equality for all which eventually would lead to the demise of the aristocracy in power and the move of the workers towards jobs in factories.

Great series and acting , not totally based on history but gave a good account of the aristocratic society of the Georgian period where there was little regard for the commoner or women of any class for that matter. Love transcending class didnt happen then and doesnt now either but it raised some pertinent questions about human nature In general in the series. Yes, loved it and want more.

Im sure the new vicar will be great but I love Tom, he was my favorite vicar!

I had already watched Morse so I knew a relationship between Endeavour and Joanie wouldn't work out, but I still thought maybe some blip in the spacetime continuum would make it happen. Sigh...
