    Adobe has just announced the brand new Generative Fill AI tool in Photoshop. This is a tool that uses contextual information as well as text prompts to fill in selections of your image. You can use the tool to remove objects, replace objects, add new elements and even blend objects.
    You can find my blog post on the tool here: www.nucly.com/blog/exploring-...
    In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to use the tool and then some tips and tricks for getting the most out of it.
    00:00 Introduction
    01:00 Installing Photoshop Beta
    01:40 Contextual Task Bar
    04:47 Generative Fill Tool

    This tool is still in beta but shows a lot of promise for an excellent integration of AI and human talent. We'll be putting out more tutorials as the tool advances and becomes a part of the software.

    I sense another course in the Nucly arsenal for the future is coming. With generative Fill, the possibilities have expanded even further.
    I feel this is a good thing also. As much as I love Midjourney and Adobe Firefly, there is something to be said about creating / compositing that Midjourney cannot.
    I am seeing so much potential here for product photography that will go next level.
    Thanks, Rikard.

      We'll definitely have courses in the future. And I agree that having AI tools built into Photoshop is a far better creative experience than only writing prompts and trying to put your visual imagination into language. Designers and artists think visually, not verbally. Having a visual interface to work with AI tools is more intuitive than a text prompt.

    Thanks for your tutorial! If you just select a space, and instead of clicking on "generative fill" is there a shortcut for that?

    • @nuclylearn
      @nuclylearn  Před rokem

      No, not right now. But if you're not putting in a prompt, you can use the "remove" tool and get very similar results. And that tool doesn't require hitting a button-simply paint in your selection and once you release the mouse click, your selection is filled in right away.

  • @sklba632

    So would adding assets temporarily help the ai to generate better results? With your bird example, if you had brought in a layer with doves on a transparency, and put them around, and then did the ai prompt, would that help improve results?

    • @nuclylearn
      @nuclylearn  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yes. More context in your image will improve the result of your output. I did a bird test on this image and the results improved after adding some birds before having the AI generate them.

    if we use the generative fill on our own image to create someone. Can it only be used for personal or can we use it commercially ? Love this tutorial, specially the part when you moved something that you generated and I have a little box around it and you just hit generate it again I've been playing this for a few days and I've been clipping out that little box. Ha ha. always learning

    • @nuclylearn
      @nuclylearn  Před rokem

      The tool is not for commercial use in it's beta form, but will be when released. It'll also be interesting to see how Adobe handles the pricing of AI generation. I've heard mention of a credit system.

    • @nuclylearn
      @nuclylearn  Před rokem +1

      @@dianewilder8109 You aren't the only one! My guess is that it will be priced similar to or bundled with an Adobe Stock subscription. And I think when that happens, we'll see a large drop in interest for AI text to art generators in the photographer and photoshop communities. But I'm just guessing.

    after clicking generative fill it gets stuck on loading and does not generate any variations
    why does it happen? because of ram or somwthing else?

    • @nuclylearn
      @nuclylearn  Před rokem

      I haven't run into this, but the generative fill tool is processing every request on Adobe's servers so you may want to make sure you have a good internet connection.

    So I am noticing for my image the yellow balloons are a different color. They are turning a more brighter yellow than the color of the original balloons. Any suggestions for this issue? I see that your generative fill was more accurate with the color.

    • @nuclylearn
      @nuclylearn  Před 10 měsíci

      My suggestion here would be to add a Selective Color adjustment layer on top of your balloons, go to the yellow color and add magenta or black to make the balloons match the original.

      First, make sure you have the Beta installed. The contextual task bar is in the new version of Photoshop (without generative fill). If you have the beta installed, then you may need to uninstall it and reinstall it. I had to do that to get it working.

    • @nuclylearn

      Isn't this the entire reason Photoshop exists? I understand the natural scepticism about A.I. art generators, but having AI-enhanced tools to speed up workflows in Photoshop seems the best way to implement AI while still leaving creative control to artists rather than computers.

    • @TheARTCONCEPTS
      @TheARTCONCEPTS Před rokem +2

      @@nuclylearn"Isn't this the entire reason Photoshop exists?"
      Absolutly not.
      Which workflow do you want to speed up? Turning portrait orientated photos to landscape will not be your usual work, I think.
      And making selections and clicking "generate" until the result is usable, is not creative - in my opinion.

    • @nuclylearn
      @nuclylearn  Před rokem +3

      @@TheARTCONCEPTS The generative fill tool is basically a super-powered context-aware fill tool. It makes removing objects, extending images or filling in contextual information extremely fast. What would have taken me 10 minutes can now be accomplished in 15 seconds. In that respect, it's not much different from the smart selection tools, which also use AI to enhance your workflow. As for the "text to image" part of the tool, which seems to be the point of contention for you, I comprehend your concern. It's undeniable that the generation of AI-driven art through this method is surrounded by controversy, and I fully understand why people might express dissatisfaction with it.

    • @mandovid
      @mandovid Před rokem +1

      The majority of people using photoshop are not using it for fun, but for work.. In my case is very useful as I work with stock images a lot and many times is very hard to find images with the exact elements that I want, or with more landscape because the image that I want to use is too small and I need it in a wider format, etc. My work is not to be creative with the images, I just need a lot of these for my mockups, and I can't take 15 minutes on each. I see a lot of possibilities with this tool...
