- Living off the land takes a lot of time, effort, experience and knowledge and this past year brought me a few steps closer to my goal of providing 90% of my food from hunting, fishing, foraging, growing, raising, cooking and preserving. Now that I have systems in place and good locations to gather from the wild and the garden, preserving food for long term off-grid storage is my next greatest challenge.

When I first subbed, he started the first cabin. What an amazing dude with amazing perseverance. He's an inspiration.

I remem beginning watching him when he had just under 50k or less. He was hunting/fishing/bush crafting i guess you call it. The quality of his photography & videography captured my attn., esp since he was from CAN. I have relatives there. Then he began his outhouse & then started on his cabin,etc. His creativity & intelligence is amazing not to mention the fact everything he does is excellent in quality! I can see his subs going even higher. If not, ppl just dont know what theyre missing!!! Cheers to ya Shawn! 🤗🍻

Yes it is!!! I fall a sleep to the sounds 😊 tried to sleep apps with their music it didn’t work. The sounds of the Saw The hammer the sounds of nature is so much more soothing in those musical apps. Thank you so much. God bless be safe and enjoy your life.

I actually like dialogue, it explains what’s happening and provides insight on how he does what he’s doing.
Shawn produces two types, with & w/o commentary. I too like the ambiant shows, the white noise effect it has on me puts me to sleep in my chair everytime.😏 Not that it's boring...just the affect of every YT vid that is ambiant.

I find it astounding that you go out, hunt for food, pull the feathers, singe it, build a fire, and make a gourmet meal just for yourself. You remind me of my oldest son. When I’m alone, I open a can.
You need to love yourself and treat yourself, invest in the effort. Feels good. Steps to hapiness. ;)

Have you ever considered writing a book on all the things you can make to survive in nature? Plants, salves, tools, drinks, construction. Even an outdoor survival cookbook!!It is amazing how much you know. If you ever get time to write!!! You keep so very busy always

Wouldn't I just love a man who can build things, is self-sufficient, logs his own timber, catches/raises his own food and can cook! How much wonderful is here in one man? The skills he possesses will stand the test of time and allow him to survive anywhere. This is great to watch. Thank you so much for the rerun. What I love the most is the lighting of fires in order to cook a meal. Truly uplifting.

We know who they are, and they are very unhappy people.
People may give a thumbs down for many reasons. A lot of followers may like to see only NEW CONTENT. SJ seems to have nothing going on this time of year, not sure, none of my business.. I find a lot of CZcams channels keep posting titbits of previous Videos. Easy money, especially for someone like SJ who is so well liked by 1.7 million plus subscribers. I also believe a lot of SJ's followers may not like to see the slaughter of animals, especially when one has the means to buy protein in meat form from grocery stores or local butchers.Thats a choice a subscriber can make and shouldn't be judged for having issues, or being a heathen or labeled unhappy. Usually people who judge and chose to be abusive to someone who doesn't agree with their thinking, get temporary joy criticizing someone who is not part of your" herd mentality thinking". SJ's channel brings joy and escapism to so many people, for their own personal reasons that don't need too be judged. Just LIVE And LET LIVE. Theres enough hate going on in the world , don't bring it here. A simple Thumbs down is nothing in the grand scheme of the CZcams world. Understand its just a business.

Man, this is great. I am following you since ages. This is, what life should be. Not just a desire, 99,99% of us will never be able experience.
Instead we're running our jobs to make money and hope being able to pay for vacation once a year.
If i had a chance, i would instantly switch my current life for something similar.
Yet here I sit in Germany, where i'm not even allowed to stay over night in a forest if it does not belong to me.
Watching these videos is pure joy and keeps me sane. Keep it up and never stop!

There's a huge difference between slaughtering, and harvesting food. If there was any form of slaughtering on Shawn's channels, I wouldn't be here at all. Stay safe and well.
