      But Does the added weight on that single axle wear? Those tires quicker? Which greatly reduces the savings on the fuel.

    Why does the tandem axle lift help with the turning radius a little explaining as to how this happens would be great because no one have cover this! Thanks!

      Shortened wheel base. The wheel base is the middle of the tandems. When you lift it is now the middle of the one axel

    • @JohannAb
      @JohannAb Před 6 lety +1

      This is 6x4!

    • @darkdregen1
      @darkdregen1 Před 5 lety +4

      It's 6x4 configuration, 2 drive axles but it works like 6x2 tag axle. So basically it's liftable drive axle.

    How does this differ from the SISU system?

    • @tanbuddy100
      @tanbuddy100 Před 7 lety

      what is the sisu system?

    • @simonnyman9031
      @simonnyman9031 Před 7 lety +1

      Sisu has a bogie drive system, the principle is the same as this, so Volvo's system is not exactly " revolutionary "

    • @ZZxxZbassmasterZxxZZ
      @ZZxxZbassmasterZxxZZ Před 7 lety +1

      and you can lift the axel on the SISU eaven if you have heavy load on

    • @V8Lenny
      @V8Lenny Před 5 lety +1

      Meritor system does not have central differential. If airsuspended, this is also possible to lift fully loaded. And you can have this with or without hubreduction, unlike Sisu which is only hubreduction.

      And Renault offered disconnection before Sisu.
