Slowing down Deku spin speed, changing Zora swim, and the redesigned Gyorg and Twinmold fights are what have prevented me from ever replaying the 3DS version of Majora's Mask. I've replayed various versions of the original since, and would love some of the 3DS changes, but those issues really just hold me back. I really wonder why they had to mess those up.
The Deku spin and swimming changes were annoying but tolerable. Couldn't stand those two boss fight changes though.
I totally agree! Even tho I love the QoL changes they made in the 3D version, those changes you mentioned really put me off on replaying it cause nope😬 (Especially cause of Gyorg lol)
You purists are not happy when the devs make the game easier, not happy when they leave the game without updating anything, and not happy when they they make the game harder. Why are you so difficult ?
theres a restoration mod. it improves deku and zora speed and fixes some bosses, also puts the transformation masks on the d pad. its my favorite way to play
I think for me, the Gyorg battle was enjoyable and you had to follow fighting tactics instead of just mindlessly shooting arrows at Gyorg. I replayed that boss the most
For Twinmold battle.. Fighting the blue twin was an enjoyable challenge in contrast to putting down the red one! It was a challenge, but a frustrating one at that. I hated it
Losing your entire save file is TRAGIC! I count myself lucky to never have that happen. 14:06
Although I find it ironic that I also haven't finished Majoras Mask before even though I have reached the Stone Tower Temple.
Luckily I didn't lose my entire save file! When I had to reset the game it took me back to the Dawn of the First Day before I went to the temple so I just lost many hours of progress that went into completing the Stone Tower Temple, I didn't really explain that part properly so sorry about that!
Glad to know I'm not the only one that hasn't!😂 Majora's Mask can get quite tricky at some points

I have never suffered the game freezing in GC, I have suffered a problem with the disc not reading only a couple times

Still my favourite Zelda game to this day
I have the collectors edition for the GC still. I had the same problem as a kid where the game would freeze and I’d have to start over from the first day. I never got to finish MM because of that, I also left off on the stone tower temple. Also for the GC version the sound is sometimes distorted for a few seconds when you load into a new area with the same soundtrack like in different parts of clock town so that’s what the warning message at the start of the game is referring to. Also I think I remember the frame rate being a little choppy too. All in all it’s a shame they weren’t able to emulate MM properly for the GC like they did with OoT but MM still holds a lot of memories for me and it’s still my favorite Zelda game even though I’ve never completed it. Now that there’s a switch version I’ll definitely be replaying it and beating it for the first time.

14:48 I had heard from other videos that MM on GameCube was bad about crashing, but I didn’t remember it crashing that much when I played it over and over as a kid (probably crashed a couple of times to my knowledge). I didn’t realize that using a Wave Bird as my main controller, which disables Rumble automatically, was actually helping! 😮

Unlike MM 3D, OOT 3D contains the best of both N64 and GameCube versions while updating some problems from the original release.

That crashing on GameCube Actually happened to me while I was in the Snow temple And I've lost so much progress because of it

I love the atmosphere and music of the game but some parts are a pain in the ass!

"Last day" has a bit more context in Japanese... as 最終 (saishuu) is the "last" day, but 最期 (saigo) means "one's last moment"... like "one's death"

You forgot to mention how much they nerfed deku link spinning before skipping across water in the 3D also in 3D - boss fights are more challenging? 😂
I'm aware of the spin attack thing but when I tried it myself when doing research for this video, I found no difference in it so I purposefully left it out🤔So I don't know if I just did it wrong or what lol
And about the bosses, I pretty much explained it in the video. As in the regular version, it was mostly possible to just swing your sword or use your bow to defeat the bosses but in the 3D version, you were required to do a lot more to defeat them. So when I said "challenging", I didn't necessarily mean that they were harder, but that new things were added to the fights to make them last longer and for you to use more of your equipment than before. I probably should have specified that in the video so my bad on that one! Hopefully this clarifies some things up! ✌

Well GameCube is no different than N64. Other than disc drives.
Basically Majora's Mask 3D is easy mode? So much has been changed to make things easier for the players
Except the red Twinmold ☠ In the original he had to take less hits in order to be stunned

Easy mode except it also makes the bosses harder, and anything involving the masks. Honestly, ruins the game if you ask me
Not really. They made the Deku mask and Zora swimming harder and more frustrating.

You left out a difference that I've noticed cuz I play the original N64 version which I still have and I have played the Wii version which has to be the same version afterwards is that they change the reward for completing the UFO cow sidequest. In the N64 version Link gets smothered in boobs and in later version he gets 200 Rupees. Yeah i rather have the 200 Rupees but who can say no to women chest.
