I've always been so curious about the mock meats in Asian grocery stores, but have been this far been put off by being unable to read the ingredients in Chinese. I love that you're trying it out and taking out some of the guess work lol.
Also, I saw someone else post about the beyond burger product, but yesterday I heard that they actually test on animals? No judgement if you still decide to purchase, but I didn't know and just thought you might like to.
I live in New York City and there is a company named May Wah.. They have the largest and best assortment of vegan meat, and sea food. substitutes anywhere. They have a website you may want to check out.
I’m so impressed with these soybean type snacks. I bought a bag of anise flavour and could not believe it was not an animal I was chewing. The taste and texture is incredible. I went back to the store to buy the spicy flavour and asked the store owner to read the Chinese ingredients to make sure there’s no animals in it. He laughed and promised me it’s all vegan. He explained that Chinese have been making soy/tofu products for thousands of years and that’s why it’s so good. Definitely have got it perfect! 10/10 for taste and texture and price!
Our local Asian grocery store has several cases of vegan meat from shark fin, sea cucumber, salmon, rainbow fish, etc. Most from Taiwan. We bought fish filets and monkey mushroom (textured like chicken) and were both amazing!
We found that many interesting ones have milk in it, so it took a while to look through all of them to find all the vegan options. I wish they'll make them dairy-free, so they'll be suitable for all :)
I've been looking for someone who has tasted these. One of our local Asian markets have a lot of snacks like these that are vegan, and I plan to buy/taste in the future. Thank you!
Have you tried the Beyond Burger yet? It taste just like a hand formed burger. Really good!!

I found those Joytofu snack but I wasnt sure if it was vegan. Anyone knows? Normally if it says vegetarian in Asia it is not from animals and doesn't include unnecesairy death. It always leans towards "strict vegetarian diet" which means vegan.
There’s this asian vegan beef snack packaged separately in little packaged but i cant find it it also has vegan sausages
I think it would be better if you didn't worry about grossing people out and gave descriptions as detailed as possible regarding how similiar it is to meat. Certainly I hope that didn't cause you to stop short with the details. Half the people that watch this video are watching specifically to hear about how it compares with meat.
