Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at another Michel Polnareff reaction made possible via PATREON with "Lettre à France." This 1977 song deals with his seperation at the time from France living in California because of fiscal issues. Michel pours his heart and soul, into this slow but climatic song filled with keys, guitars, and epic voice falsettos. See my reaction now!

He wrote this song when he was in the USA because he missed France. It’s a love letter to France

Not forget that Michel Polnareff is a first prize for piano at twelve of Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, the most prestigious conservatory of France and one of the most revered in Europe. For us in France, Michel Polnareff is a piano man as like Elton John for UK or Billy Joel for the US.

Quel hommage a la France ! Même dans un grand pays si varié que les USA, il ne l'a pas oublié. Elle est belle notre France !

Hi Derek, just to let you know that there are still bullies in your comments that, just because they dislike your recent choice of songs and think they're on some kind of mission to "save" your channel, feel like it's okay to insult other viewers (calling them as*

In fact it is not about a woman but about France, the country, he leaved because he did not want to pay taxes. It is just a song about his country that misses him. But the question is : why leaving, just pay your taxes because if you earn money it is because people linving in your country pay for your music.

Je suis pas un fan de Polnareff; mais il faut avouer que côté chanson, il savait y faire, avec en plus une discographie bien fournie.

It's a very beautiful song. As a French I can feel how hard it can be for a French to be far from our motherland 😪

Michel Polnaref is in my opinion one of the greatest musicians on the planet. The musical and melodic richness of "Letters to France" is one example among others. Thanks Dereck, you won't be disappointed with Michel's other songs. Polnareforever !

The real story is that he wrote this song in USA, because he left from France for many years. He didn't pay his taxes, that's the reason, true 😄! But he let us this pure and magic song which often makes me cry 😭 !
