This show is getting funnier as these guys grow into their roles. Some good fun about serious subjects. Bravo!
"I got this guy in Red Bank" nice to hear this small town reference 😆🤣
So glad I found y’all last month, crave every episode of every cast
Welcome to the club, buddy.
Packy is always a good interview and seems like a cool guy.
Waiting for Howard Lindzon to jump out and spoil another episode with Packy 😉 … pleased to see him back 👏
I remember that. One of the compounds best guests C*ck blocked by the insufferable blowhard Howard. Packy was so polite about it.
Let's goooooooo! Have a great weekend Pounders!
Josh's take on raising children is one of the most profound thing ever said on the show.
If my AI is inappropriate with your AI, can I be held personally liable? It is a strange new world.
Not going to lie I love the channel but was not expecting to learn about Tech advancements here! Well done and well-rounded content!
I like the into with “zero % chance” on repeat. Call me strange
Very enjoyable and entertaining. Just the right mix of humor and finance with a great amount of knowledge included, what you guys do on this podcast is incredibly hard to mix it all in and make it enjoyable, thank you for sharing
Great show 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Awesome
Show! It’s always great to hear from Packy
Love to hear from more Packy about stuff like AlphaFold. As a biologist, I find the scale & speed of AI utterly deranging. By discovering the structures of ALL proteins in 2021, AlphaFold replaced DECADES of work by THOUSANDS of biochemists. Now, just THREE years later - less time than it takes to get a Ph.D.! - Alphafold3 is doing the more complex task of working out how those proteins interact (which should radically speed up drug development). It is simply breathtaking. I am glad I am retiring, because I don't know what to tell students about where the jobs will be going forward. (Also, Josh & Michael, please interrupt your guests less.)
Josh -- who's your guy in Red Bank? That's where I'm at. LOL
what's a "drawring" ?
That gets me every time. And another one is "sorry" which sounds like soury.
@@cliffpeebles9705 I kid I kid :)
I get it. I say draw’ring and know that I do it. It’s a North East thing.
@dinosaurdude5668 that's not a North East thing it's a particular state thing
Love the show, great guest as always. Thanks for all y all do.
As a Japanese fluent American I am bummed by this aspect of AI.
We'll need you to tell us how to say things and not sound like a robot though.
It is unbelievable that people still care what Packy McCormick has to say about anything. He's aligned with the worst people so naturally he's perfect for this podcast.
Word to everybody a lawyer's job is to string you along as long as they can until you run outta money then get you to take a plea. If Sam had any game about him he woulda known this
Good to have Packy back!!!🎉 The bit on FTX and SBF reminded me of episode talking about Theranos' Elizabeth Holmes...comparing to Musk and Tesla...did SBF just run out of time before he could turn "lies" into reality?
Comparing to what ???
Just stop investing bro
lol
@@DDMSakb48 Keith?
i did a spittake when JB said "if i'm SBF trying to raise money, I only go to people who have had run-ins with the law." 😂😂😂
Great episode!! Any chances we can get Housel or Maggiulli on?
Great episode. You have to love the new tech explosion. AI is going to force every business vertical to innovate at a speed no one has ever seen before. Embrace it, don’t fight it. You just need to find your niche. That’s what Packy is doing. It’s not just for VCs. We are in inning one of a very long game.
had a chance to invest in XAI, passed, fees were ridiculous from the custodian of shares 2/20 plus additional fees, recouped in a waterfall but come on man
Good to note the FTX creditors are being paid back in cash not in kind based on 2022 values.
I wonder how AI transforms the investment advisor business
No Ragrets?
Serious question: Do the boroughs of NYC actually have identifiable differences in language accents?
great ending!
Lots of flashy talks, can anyone help summarize what the key takeaways?
I’m trying to figure out what I learned from it 😅
This episode is all noise, no signal.
Pacers got it
Anduril has a lot of vaporware.
Another great one.
Btw, how much does Michael hate hip hop on a scale of 1-10 ?
Saying the FTX folks got all their money back is a little misleading. It was the dollar value of the crypto at the crash levels, not how much that crypto is worth today which is multiples higher.
I am glad someone else also noticed this.
If you watch enough of their videos you will find out that they always have bad takes when it comes to things they are not familiar with.
@@DDMSakb48I wouldn’t classify this as a bad take. For all intents and purposes they got their money back, anyone who is crying that they didn’t get the high end amount is ridiculous.
@@jonjone661 It's a terrible take. If you had one bitcoin at FTX, you got back about 30% of your bitcoin. "For all intents and purposes" is doing a lotta work in your sentence there, buddy.
How can Josh forget Chief Keef, one of the greatest Midwest Rappers
💥💥💥 “hey everybody”
Party On Friends! 🥳✌️🥳✌️🥳✌️🥳✌️
Is it Friday already MWC?
@@cliffpeebles9705 yea bud🥳👶🥳
THC is chill thing in Jersey. So is Snookie 👙🏖️. Pump our gas ⛽️? ❌ nope. Eff That.
@@MatthewMS. Right On friend. Hey, congrats on your excellent, successful career! 🥳🥳🥳✌️✌️✌️✌️
@@midwestcannabisI’m just getting warmed up baby 😉
This isn’t important but There’s definitely enough rappers in the Midwest to build a label behind, historically: Kanye, Lupe, Eminem, Chance, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, etc
PLTR is the 6th prime, how does he know about anduril but not mention palantir? Very strange
I'm not quitting my Spanish lessons.
Says all the people who have never used google translate
Shocking how the FTX gaslighting is fooling people. People did in fact lose a lot of money. “In kind” distribution would make it more apparent for the less sophisticated
And the very smart guys who run this podcast are going along with it, which is disappointing. I'm sure they know better, so I don't know why they're running cover for SBF like this. People with crypto lost ~70% of their money.
FTX holders did not get paid back in full. The 118% is based on account values in Nov 2022 -- when crypto was super low. You are actually getting something like 25% back.
To show you how stupid Apple’s Siri is, at 11:55 of the video, my phone says “uh ha” bc you guys said “Siri”.
Siri does nothing but set an alarm for me when I’m cooking a chocolate Bundt cake. That’s all “she’s” done in the last two years.
Josh, bud, you need to understand that some of us think Bankman-Fried deserves to face Draconoian penalties that would violate international conventions for acting like he was above the law throughout the entire process, it doesn't matter whatsoever that some of his speculative bets worked out, and anyone who defends him deserves a similar horror movie-like fate
“Some of us are morons” would be an apt summary. Draconian measures smh, thanks for the analysis counsellor
Anduril website intriguing.
as of march LOL
If Kenneth lay or whatever the former ceo of Enron can still raise money then sbf can
Have you noticed michael Batnick has had a much needed attitude adjustment. He's so much less combative
Josh, you’re lacking on your knowledge of mid-west rappers. For a while Chicago was one of the hottest area for rappers, chief Keef GBE era. Freddie Gibbs coming out of Gary Indiana had some Grammy buzz.
7:18 Packy, it's called "color by the foot". It's blasphemy for people that like books that don't just use them as decor.
AAPL stock was at $18.88 on May 16, 2014, exactly 10 years ago from the day of this recording. It closed at 189.90. So if you took this dude’s advice and not invested in AAPL back then, you missed on 10x of your investment. People continue to underestimate Apple and I don’t understand it. They own the mobile device market. AI or any other tech innovation in the future will need a computing device to operate off of. All they need to do is continue to add services and raise the price of subscription incrementally. That goes straight to their bottom line.
put some respect on chance the rapper....also bone thugs were from Ohio...and then there is Detroit.....come on Joshua
After an hour of listening, I am still trying to figure out if this guest has said anything of value…. All platitudes and generalities. Maybe it’s me and I am not listening intently but normally I feel like a learn something with every episode… today it’s all sugar water
Packy might as well just pass out blindfolds. he has no clue
2 years ago none of us throught we'd see a cent from FTX and now everybody bitching it ain't enough. pathetic bunch of ingrates.
Nelly and Cudi Josh come on now
Past episodes have shown Josh has questionable music taste. 😂
He'll be out w/ in 5
Philly accent beats the pants off any NY metro accent.
A bit too much Josh in this episode. Let the others shine.
He loves to hear himself speak.
He’s a salt of the earth guy
no josh is the best
more josh
It seems like he brings people on just to beat them to their point or to steamroll them just so he can say “Yeah, that’s always been my opinion on that.” 😂
Can you not be a Google IO presentation and just talk about AI AI AI none stop? We get AI is big. Can we talk about market/economics? If we wanted to understand AI more, there are better podcast than the compound.
