6 months Later: adidas Yeezy 500 review
So it has been 6 months since the Yeezy 500 originally released, and since then we have seen only 3 colorways drop, with more on the way. The original hype was big, then died off, and were considered bricks.. but fast forward a bit, and the market seems to have adjusted a bit.
here is my 6 month retrospective review of the Yeezy 500.

Lets talk about the Yeezy 500, start off with an overview of the model

So 6 months later, and with hype increasing on newer colorways and resale rebounding, does it change your opinion of this yeezy model? it is one you have tried and you were happy to have got, or do you have regrets? Some sizes are now commanding a $600-$700 resale and once sold for a $15 profit.
Hype aside i think this model is just different, and I think once there is a stigma of "those yeezys aren't cool" it actually makes some people desire them more than the "cool" kicks.
Here are some of my Pros / Cons of the Yeezy 500

Smaller sizes for women, adidas has been great about this
surprisingly comfy on feet

may be too chunky for some.

model may not age well due to the unique design (not timeless)
Final thoughts? with more saturation of these, the original 3 colorways will likely increase in value, and the triple black colorway has to be my favorite of the group. I regret selling the Blush Desert Rat colorway as well. This open market is fairly unpredictable now a days so if you see sneakers like these that you genuinely like, and can get for retail or close to that, then disregard the resale hype and just do it... or u know what I mean.

I didn't like these at the start, but that is almost the reason I like them because the more I look at them the more I like them. I now really want them and I love the different materials used.

This is better quality than 90% of Air Jordan’s which you don’t complain about so I don’t think the price should be a con.
Drizzy West it’s a con tho, everything is over priced almost, including most Jordan’s for the actual quality
If you compare to Asics and Saucony, most Jordans, Nikes and Adidas are overpriced. There are some outliers like the Adidas Iniki and Nike Skylon II which pricepoints are acceptable. The Jordan 1 Shadows are not too bad... They were 160-180?
I stopped buying Jordan's ten years ago because they always fell apart. To this day all of my Jordan's cracked or peeled or the soles fell off. Garbage shoes.
Think about release prices 5-10years ago. It was way cheaper! The companies create an artificial hype and raising all prices!
I think you ought to factor inflation, if you wish to compare to prices of the past.
Honestly the black ones are nice to rock every day. My favorite have to be the super moon yellow and the reason that they don’t have multiple colors is because the shoe was made for a monochromatic look, style. Also adiprene plus was a Adidas top-of-the-line cushioning before boost so if adiprene is 9 and boost is 10 and I don’t have to pay an extra $100 for boost like the 700 that drop today I’ll take adiprene all day..
The quality on these are amazing, theyre comfortable and the black one is great for everyday use

@@w.h.johnson404 I haven't tried the 700's yet but if the laces aren't tight there will be alot of foot room , but when the laces are tight it's a perfect fit, the tongue is somewhat connected to the shoe, but it's a easy shoe to put on, and for padding the heel is like a pillow, and the shoe overall has like a medium padding upper, which I think is perfect for this shoe, overall I would give this shoe an 8 for comfort and style and materials
@@w.h.johnson404 also the tongue has some good padding as well, the way the shoelaces are set up you'll barely know they're there when you really lace them up and perferably wear these with shorts because you'll feel the most comfortable but that's a personal preference

I have the blush and I love them. I think a lot of the hate around this shoe is centered around the fact that it doesn't have boost. It's still comfortable, they can get hot and stuffy and start feeling like pillows.
But these things are premium. The materials feel so good.
I got myself the utility black colorway for retail a few months ago and I love them! The materials are really nice and the shoe is holding very well, if possible look even better with a bit of wear... Very comfortable too! 🔥🔥🔥

I honestly love my black ones. They're so comfy and I wear them almost everyday over my ultra boosts now. Tbh one of my favorite pairs of yeezys yet 😁
I actually liked these a lot. And I agree with Hes on the fact that they could do some really dope stuff on that shoe as far as the colorways go, I feel like they design the yeezy colorways with versatility in mind, resulting in the silhouette being the star more so than the colors
the utility black are dope!
I always loved the look it was different and when I got them I was actually surprised how comfortable they were and since they're relatively affordable I love them they're one of my go too pairs
I have worn mine almost daily for work for the past 2 years almost and they’re still comfy, still look good, and the only thing happening is the adipreme is starting to shave a bit but that’s with 2 years of consistent use

Really happy with this buy. I got the black ones and I love the fact that they are in one color, it balances the chunky vibe and all the different layers! They are really comfortable but I think they run a little small, next time I’m going to buy half size up. Comfortable if you don’t have to walk a lot...

I just bought these exact same yeezys on Stock X. I almost bought the Blush but decided on Yellow moon because it’s so different. Do you like the yellow moon or Blush better? Seemed to me like the Blush was too boring. I also liked the moon yellow because it looks super old like how shoes yellow after a while. I thought that was super smart for Kanye to think of that. Also you turned me on Jordan’s. I got sick of having the same Jordan’s but different color ways.

@heskicks on the contrary, I think this silhouette will age well. Think UPTEMPO air, but 15 years from now. Nostalgia will play a huge part in making them relevant again.

Disagree about quality. I find it very solid. Materials are higher end and no glue stains or loose threads.

I know this is years ago but totally feel the opposite in regards to quality. Out of all Yeezy models I feel like these have the best materials and are the best priced. Personally, materials feel better than the 700 V1s.

They are already retro style sneakers. They will get better and better with time. Just like the 700. Watch how much the OG colorway of the waverunner will be when they permanently stop producing them and move onto the v2 700 and beyond. These are the beginning of an era and will be worth a fortune in years to come
