    Gets sneaker brands sponsor him getting their sneakers cut in half. Gets all the information how they're built, about the quality and what not. Uses this information to build his own sneaker in the future. Has to be the single best industrial espionage stunt ever or might I say quite sneaky.

      Yeah. But I don’t think that these brands need to worry much. I’m sure that rose anvils shoes will be successful and worth buying. But there is a reason why these companies don’t go for the highest quality product. I’m sure that rose anvils shoes will most likely cost more than the brands that took the #1 quality or value spot.

    Thank you for the series! It really helped me figure out which white sneakers I am most interested in, then from there just narrow it down based on what I can access, the price, aesthetic, potential comfort level, durability, and how it would transpose to me and my lifestyle (as a woman). This was by far a better resource than most other reviews I've seen and showed a lot more variety than a lot of women fashion influencers were showing (usually you can narrow it down to about 3 brands).
    I ended up getting the Oliver Cabell Low 1 and I love them! They were a bit outside my budget for them (especially after paying duties), but I don't regret it as I am well on my way to getting my full value out of them. The other ones I was interested in (mostly as a result of this series) were not available for sale where I am, difficult to obtain, or out of my price range.

    Thank you for putting together this series! It's been very delightful to watch every one of the videos in the series (my heart skips a beat whenever I saw the shoes being cut in half though). I'm a newbie sneaker lover, so your videos have taught me a lot and introduced me to various brands I'd never heard before. Now, I don't know whether I should be thankful or mad at you about this! hahahaha.
    For the overall winner, I'm conflicted between Crown and Thursday (white). Crown's simpler silhouette looks uniquely stunning, but I'm very impressed with Thursday's quality. If I have to choose one, it's perhaps Crown because I totally fall in love with its look!
    For the giveaway, can I get a pair, because September 30th is my birthday? Honest! hahahaha
    Getting a pair of Crown of Thursday for my birthday would be amazing since I work as a teacher in China and it's hard to get either of them (very expensive too). But, I'm sure it won't be possible to send a pair down here, so it's no problem at all. I still want to thank you nonetheless! I've followed you on Insta too now (@mikaluvisa). I look forward to your next series and videos! :)

    Fun series. Stoked to see what you can come up with. If you can make a version with close to the same style/color as the Thursday shoes I might consider buying a pair. As long as they are under that 200 mark, most definitely. But, I doubt a shoe with that quality will make that mark. Might just have to get me a pair of those Thursday shoes instead. Thank for the informative videos. Keep it up!

    I was speaking to a insole rep once (in england) and she told me the reason most Brits have flat or wide feet is because of the draft in ww2. All the men with low arches or flat feet weren't drafted so basically the men left after the war mostly had flat feet.. it sounds logical and could also be a reason the British designs are a bit wider than the italians. I'll refrain from inserting a joke about the Italians and ww2.

    I'm real happy that Common Projects won best looking - through all comparisons, all of the points you made when giving the award kept popping into my head. I know the series was mainly focussed on construction and quality - but common projects are just objectively attractive to look at, and stay that way through daily wear for months, which to me (my own opinion, not a fact) justifies their price point.

    Hey man, I just wanted to say that I have been desperate for someone to take the technicalities of shoes seriously. This series has so much legs.
    Premium lace-up boot manufacturers are going to be falling over themselves to be featured.
    I'd kickstarter whatever you do, thanks man.

    I just stumbled upon this video. Great series! I'm just curious if these kind of luxury sneakers can be resoled. I own a pair of Greats. The upper still looks good, but the heel of the sole is wearing down fast.

    Great reviews. I’d appreciate if you can include consideration on how vary the brands sizing is. Most of the brands runs on big sizes (male sizing oriented). But women’s love wearing handmade shoes with great construction too you know. I was a bit disappointed when I check Goral but they don’t have my size (US 5 wide).

    Rose, I think you overlooked an awesome Spanish brand called Idrese. I just bought a pair of their white sneakers and they are amazing. They are 230$ with thick full grain chromed leather, thick margom soles, a cork midsole, a shank, metal eyelets and and awede design. Go check them out!

    I have a Gustin chromexcel sneaker and high top. They are pretty good Italian made shoes but walking in them all day was the worst. The bottom of my feet were in pain in the end of the day and the rear of my feet above my heels rub so bad on the edge of the shoe. Where the tenden is. So they look amazing but only good for a short time. The high tops and low tops both have these issues. I bought a pair of Sox that are padded on thd bottom and rear, I'm hoping that will help a little. This is a huge consideration when making a shoe, hightop, boots or sneakers.

    Hello Rose Anvil. I'm an avid watcher of your channel and I really respect your opinion. If you're manufacturing your own sneakers and putting them on the market I would definitely want to buy some. However, comfort is important to me and I often wear orthopedic shoes and stuff like Birkenstocks, so I won't be able to wear your sneakers if they don't have a wide enough toebox. If it's not too expensive I hope you can make the sneakers in a variety of widths. Also a removable insole and/or an insole with a lot of arch support would be great. Good luck with the project.

    Hi There Rose,
    I really liked these vídeo series. Very informative and enjoyable to watch.
    I love sneakers (white or not) and Own many of these brands: CP, Koio, Crown Northamptons, M.Gemi, Artisan Lab, Aurelien, etc.
    I agree with the choice of the Best Looking: It really is the CP;
    The Best Value to me is the Artisan Lab because it’s basically the same as a CP with inferior leather;
    The best overall: I would like to agree with you about the Crowns because they are super well constructed and have the best (horween) leathers but on a day to day basics, It’s not my go to sneaker. My go to sneaker is the CP and if I couldn’t have purchased it on discount for $270, my go to sneaker would have been the Koio or the Artisan Lab (the suede ones are excellent for the price and amazing comfort as well)
    Regarding the Crowns, I already tried talking to them:
    1) They need to make it slimer. It’s a bulky sneaker and if you’ve been seen using the CP it will literally look like a downgrade. Even if just the sole. They’re sole is very bulky.
    2) They need to better the footbed. It’s got a rubbery feeling to it and if I wear them sockless for too long it rubs too much and becomes a problem;
    3) They have the best leather bar none. Either the Horweens or they’re own. Just the smell feels much more natural than the Italian brands (that feel much more processed). They must capitalize on this by providing us a CP-like sneaker with all they’re leather options and styles (I like the cap-toe versions)
    I don’t think you should end this series. Many other sneakers await to be cut in half and reviewed :-)
    Keep up the good work! I will buy your sneakers, just don’t price them like CP.

    How much bigger are the soles on the crown vs the Oliver cabell vs Koio capri. I’m struggling to choose one. The crowns look bulky.
