- Anna Fedorova performs The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C♯ minor "Quasi una fantasia", Op. 27, No. 2 also known as the Mondschein sonata, composed by Ludwig van Beethoven followed by Ballade no. 4, composed by Frederic Chopin.
Anna Borysivna Fedorova is a Ukrainian concert pianist. Fedorova performs as soloist, chamber musician and with symphony orchestras in the major concert halls. Her father was her piano teacher and probably her biggest fan.

She's so underrated. I wish she had more commercial recordings.
She has perfect technique, absolute clarity of notes, a super fiery temperament, complete musicianship, utter beauty, sexiness, you name if there is something missing...
Yes, Anna has got it all plus she has impeccable taste and class -- this in stark contrast to some of her female contemporaries who tend to appear on stage looking like street walkers.

This is music. Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, etc., gave so much, they were blessed, then they were gone, and now artists like Anna are tasked to preserve it. It's not just enough to play these great compositions, but also reverence, respect.

Magnificent performance. She's become my favorite pianist, stunning, natural beauty, both in playing and in character.
She reminds me of the great tenor Jussi Bjorling in that for both her and Bjorling every single note is important and played with respect. Her great technique and study are matched by her obvious intelligence, good taste and powerful interpretations contrasted to interpretation of the quiet, gentle passages with their internal, eternal beauty.

Anna is fabulous!
Her phrasing and tone is excellent . I know she had Brendel as one of her mentors who is one of the best Beethoven interpreters. In some ways she has some similarities to him . But she takes a slightly more romantic approach. When she sits down at the piano you know you will get a moving technically sound performance .You can tell she feels the music deeply . Excellent performance.

Wow I commented after the Moonlight which was superb, but then the Ballade is triple wow, wow, wow. Stunning interpretation. I have performed this piece and thought I knew it but she takes it to a whole other level.
The gentle, quiet playing of the passage just before the lowd end of this piece is pure Fedorova greatness.

Well done 4th ballad with a clear coda - not so easy as i know myself, once studying it too. Its my favourite Chopin Story. In it he tells his whole life comprehensive and with passion.

Great interpretation of the Moonlight. I particularly like the 2nd movement, with its calm and meditative feel, usually played faster than that, with less expressiveness. .

One of the best out there, no doubt. Plays with emotion and yet powerful, tempo is timed well. Approaches or surpasses Rubinstein IMHO. In addition she is stunningly beautiful. What's not to like?

Isn´t there a little more of pregnancy in each tone in the Moonlight? I think so, in this often played sonata. A little more of the something that builds this up? And her Chopin is always worth listening to. Just a hypothesis, but I believe in my own hypothesis :-)
