I am absolutely LOVING this!! I feel like sometimes the enjoyment of watching gymnastics is lost on petty arguments over tenths, but this is such fun to watch.
As an ex-gymnast (...high school...way too long ago...) I enjoyed this a lot. I liked seeing the athletes go for difficult skills without having to worry too much about form. And I had no problem with the outfits -- gymnastics is all about the human body, so why not show it off? Still, I have a hard time seeing this going anywhere as an actual money-making competitive sport. Also, did anyone else think Suri Serano was just really strange looking? Like a female version of Lurch!
It is interesting to see that each gymnasts can't do every skill; their competition routines are so hard that I never really understood how each skill has to be taught, even if they can do other, more difficult skills.
Thank you for posting the video, for european countries to see what « old » athletes can do for money. Don’t tell me it is the extraordinary Svetlana BOGINSKAIA coaching the team world?
I agree with you. It's vulgar, shamelessly commercialized and tacky, the cringe-inducing side to American culture. But there is an irresistible sense of fun and the athletes look like they are having a good time, unlike in serious competitions. So I guess it doesn't matter too much in the end.
Well actually if you watch in a later show the world team calls an unfair call on one of the points awarded to the US team because of that specific reason. I have a feeling that in the future versions of this that the audience will not have a say in who gets the points.
These people probably practice in these types of outfits everyday. Now I am not a gymnast or anything close to one, but I do not think that these people wear the same long sleeve leotards they wear in competition for practice... If I am right or wrong please tell me how it works then.
Gymnastics is beautiful when it is a mixture of graceful and strengh (like Nastia and Svetlana showed us). Here it is only strengh, like little boys playing at « I’m stronger than you are! » . This competition for me has no interest, and is limited.
I think that guys and girls should not go against each other. Mason v Dalton, Masons was fantastic for a girl, but against a guy? No hope. Also the advantage towards team USA screams American cup. The best in the USA, no language barriers, on home ground, in front of Americans. Team world, Not the best of the best, all speak different languages, so many less fans. It was better in 2012 when it was US v US. Mixed teams would be best, still have the draw of athletes like Ponor, but with less bias.
no offence but i dont think anyone really likes the US. Its not your people its your government and you have a habit of coming across as arrogant, europeans were a bit more relaxed. I love the US personally. Chelsie Memmel is one of my favs i just hate it as they never mention she was world champion they just talk about her injuries. I would love to see some chinese like cheng fei or mo huilan. the boy v girl thing is unfair and the audience vote.too biased. but i love the comp us v world YEAH!

Why haven't I heard of this format before!?
This is just plain FUN to watch!!!!
LOVE IT!!!
Thank you for posting this. I tried to watch it here at home and my cable decided it didn't like the station.
almost all of them have Olympic tattoos, love it
Paul Ruggeri is a HUGE piece of eye-candy.
whoa, jana! haven't seen her in forever!
Oksana is freaking AMAZING. Seriously, 37 years old. She. Is. A. Bad. Ass.
Amazing! I never heard about these "Pro Gymnastics Challenges"... I don't know really what to think about it...
thx for uploading!! i wanted to watch this.
Tks you are the best, waiting for part 3
Hi! Thank you for your answer! Svetlana is about 40 years old today. Time flies!
thank you so much for posting
What a cool move at 25:09 in the background!

I love Svetlana Boginskaia

@Molly Cox I am a gymnast, and in practice gymnasts wear sleeveless Leos not bras and competition is long sleeved :):)

can you upload the other parts when they come out?

the person with the most power gets it im pretty sure
Okay, I know I am late, but I already saw it but this just bothers me.
Why wasn't Kohei Uchimura there??????
-Parker
when Melissa went her legs were tottaly bent
Marissa's form was better than Chelsie on that double layout. She should have gotten the point for that one.
not necessarily long sleeves, they changed the rules so you can wear short sleeved leotards now, at least in elite competitions
These people probably practice in these types of outfits everyday. Now I am not a gymnast or anything close to one, but I do not think that these people wear the same long sleeve leotards they wear in competition for practice... If I am right or wrong please tell me how it works then.
It is actually Svetlana Boginskaia.
its not fair that its set in the usa with the audience getting a say in points and that both judges are american
she landed with her chest down.

who cares. it was fun to watch.
This competition was so set up for Team USA to win!...
yea but not so much better, and I think Chellsie had more power and Marissa definitely piked down more
bring China to compete and we'll see who's so cocky with fancy intros
actually i think it's called a sports bra.
@neecee401100 LOL really..? It's a sports bra and spandex. That's work out wear. I'm a cheerleader. I haven't seen a cheerleader in that...
Guys vs Girls is so unfair in gymnastics because the guys can do bigger and more difficult skills
HEHE that wasn't a double full:P
why wasn't nataia competing
Oksana Chusovitina is from Uzbekistan not Ukraine. Get it together commentators.

Um, Minsk is the capital of Belarus. It's not in Russia and Boguinskaya is not Russian.
this "competition" was a joke. From the get go you know it was slanted towards Team USA
that double double was AWFUL
I don't think they judge on form
Um...why aren't they wearing leotards?
