Azazel was literally the best villain this show has had. He permanently fucked up the Winchesters, and not only was he evil he was diabolical. Not even Lucifer and Crowley compare. Cain would've had more of a chance in the earlier seasons with better writing and blonde Ruby was something alright.
I agree Azazel will always be my favorite big bad in supernatural as well as the first 2 seasons being the best imo.

I'm sorry but Azazel should be #1. Without him, there is no series and none of the other villains come to pass. Is machinations were still reverberating throughout the series, and when he came, you knew something bad was going to happen which none of the others seemed to do for me. He was the one that always caused lasting torment, which gives him the cred, and I'm sorry there wasn't more from him.
Not to mention, i got an actual, real vibe of pure evil from him. Except *maybe* for alastair, i never got that from any other villain. Even when Azazel just talked, you knew he was about to ruin someones life in one way or another.
as much as i adore crowley n lucifer, azazel should b on top. n i agree with u, his evilness vibe cannot compare to later villains...

Exactly he was the first one that actually put the fear of God in you, even after his death he was still throwing us through the loop.
Anyone else ponder on why none of the demons on the list have came back? Or have they and just avoid the Winchester's . I always kinda hope when the show comes to a end all the demons gang up in a masters of evil fashion and take the boys down tee hee

Agreed, Lucifer was absolutely an amazing villain, very cool and collected. But Azazel set the tone for ALL the villains in the entire show.

Eh, Crowley became more of an antihero in the last few seasons. He was pretty much part of the team the last season he was on.

Who else wasn’t surprise knowing Crowley be at #1? He is well known as the King of Hell, but overall the lists of the villains are great.

I was, because I love Crowley, but based off of his actions it is hard to consider him a pure villain. Lucifer in my opinion should've been number one.

@@MrJordwalk Eve created the Jefferson Starships and one of her monsters was responsible for death of another popular character Rufus Turner. Eve the Mother of All Monsters definitely one of strongest Monsters due to the fact she was walking Monster farm that could create any monster known or unknown. Also loved the way Dean tricks her and kills her it's one of my favorite monster kills of the show.

Hasan Wilson The writing of the first few seasons was the best in general. Still love the show, but seasons 1-5 were masterfully done.
I would say the Apocalypse Arc is better, season 4 and 5 are the best

Crowley wasn’t really a villian as much as an antihero. He only did what suited him best. He wasnt quite as villainous as Lucifer IMO

I think season 12 especially later episodes had many beautiful brotherly scenes. It was the relationship I believe many of as missed. Teasing each other (the wine drinking scene was very funny), supporting each other (Dean sending Sam alone to take down EML) and many more

agreed, season 7 was the weakest season overall but had some really great stand alone episodes like The Born-Again Identity (excellent work from Jared), also The Girl With The Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo and Reading Is Fundamental, during which we met two beloved characters. Also of course, Death's Door. Very sad but very good Ep.

I had no problem with Season 7 it gave the boys an unknown unkillable enemy the Leviathans to fight. The also introduce new popular characters two Kevin Tran and Charlie Bradbury.

I know I they try to avoid spoilers the best they can, but both Rowena and Crowley have very compelling redemption arcs.
Crowley, a dude who's driving motive was what he could do for his own self preservation and gain, went out sacrificing himself for the greater good. Literally nobody talks about this and it needs to be discussed way more

Lucifer should be number one, instead of Crowley. Luci was more villain than Crowley ever was. I'm just sayin', I love them both, but I still think Lucifer is the show's main and most badass villain.
No disrespect on my part and if it's taken as such I apologize in advance but I don't believe Lucifer should be number one & Crowley deserves it. Mainly because of these two points the first being look at the first five seasons. Everything was leading up to his release and then when he's finally release he's beaten because two brothers love each other more than hate. That's not a knock on the Winchesters because I love them too but I'm just saying. Everything afterwards is just him throwing even more of a temper tantrum. The second point I bring which is Crowley is because while he may not be the strongest he doesn't need to be he's the smartest and a damn good businessman which has allowed him access to artifacts and leverage over so many people for his advantage and survival and the only reason he's dead is because of his own accord and he will be missed. Crowley is the consistent thorn in the Winchester side even when he is on your side and Dean says it best himself Crowley will always find a way to Bone you and he always does

I love Crowley so much but he stopped being a villain by s10. He became their ally. He was badass, menacing and all around amazing but not a villain. Honestly, another one that deserved atleast an honorable mention is God/Leviathan Castiel. We saw him for like 2 episodes but my God was he bone chillingly terrifying. It was even more scary because he was wearing the face of the character that all of us love and adore to death. Alastair should've been there too.

Honestly, Lilith just needed more screentime, and she'd easily have bagged the number 1 spot. She was absolutely terrifying, like straight from a horror movie rather than a fantasy show, and she remains, to date, the most evil character in the show. Plus the boys never, ever defeated her. She won both the first time and upon he return.

Lucifer should have been #1 because Crowley wasn't even a villain at the end anymore, he became their ally. And no one leaves an impression such as Lucifer does because he is pure evil but you kinda sympathize with him and even understand him too. Crowley really isn't a villain, he has a good heart

Crowly is my favorite by far (not villain, in general), but hs is far from the best villain. The only reason he gets to do a lot of stuff is because he manages to live that long.

Where's Gordon Walker? He had like 4 episodes and left a big impression . Was very menacing. In his own twisted way he had a point about Sam and he ended up becoming the thing he hated most:A Vampire. He at least deserves an honourable mention along with Alistair. Otherwise great list

How one could put Crowley before Lucifer or Azazel as top villain is beyond me. This dude is a walking clown with the exception of season 6 when he was actually entertaining and GOOD at being BAD. The only thing he added to the show later was the humor, which let's be honest, is not a main villain quality. Lucifer also later became a more trolling version of himself but still gave a powerful/villainy vibe whenever he appeared. Crowley - did not. For me Azazel WAS and WILL FOREVER BE the best villain of this show. Period.
Crowley is awesome, he’s sassy and has his own twisted kind of evil that you can’t help but love, however, he’s not a badass. Cain, Alastair, Rowena, Naomi, Meg, Raphael and Lilith were all more badass than Crowley and they didn’t even make the list.

nah he's not a villain. well, he was as the Trickster but then that was just an assumed identity.
Gabriel wasn't a villain, perhaps a nuisance in the beginning but not a villain and when he "killed" Dean, he was trying to teach Sam a lesson that he had to learn to live without Dean
