I kind of feel sad that lucas is going to move out soon I mean it doesn't make any sense if the family is already looking for a new house it don't make any sense that almost everybody is going to move out :(

OMG I AGREE!!! They pay very very well!! most of the time they pay for living expenses depending on who u work with! My mom’s friend was one and she loves it! Heck I’ve been looking into it myself lol but there’s soooo many medical field options it’s so hard to choose so I understand where she’s coming from 😭😂🫶🏼 military is definitely a good option for her though so they can pay for it while she figures out what exact medical field she wants to go into! 😊

On my son's 18th birthday he came to me and said well mama here's a key to my apartment and as soon as I graduate high school im moving in. I told him no you're not and he said I am because mama that's what you raised us to do, be independent. What could I say i just said I love you and you're right, blessings and he did really well a few years later he moved to NY still doing great! Thanking God

Savannah I fully understand how you feel my brother moved out the day before my sweet sixteen we are nearly experiencing the same situation just think of it this way you can go have sleepovers and you will have both your brothers together always a positive somewhere in a hard difficult situation ❤

Lucas I understand wanting ur own but my only advice to u is live with ur parents as long as u can!!! I moved out at 16 I'm 33 now my only regret was not staying and saving money!!

Couldn't agree more- as long as you have a healthy home life. I saved thousands of dollars. The idea of moving out and "freedom" is always intriguing to teens, but it's not like the movies... especially these days!!
I agree. Almost all her older kids that moved out end up moving back in. Which is fine! But maybe they should encourage them to stay longer and save. Paying rent is a lot!
Lucas is a good kid and most specially a good brother.
So I kinda think that him moving out with his bio brother is his way to kinda help him living alone. We all know that Elijah chose to not get adopted and might have had a tougher life than Savannah and Lucas. I think it's great that Lucas wanted to do this with him.
Lucas is a wonderful young man, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders and makes wise decisions. I hope this continues and he isn't influenced. Crystal and Aaron have instilled wonderful morals in all their children.
Poor Savannah😢 i feel her pain. Her and Lucas have been thru so much together and at one time all they had was each other so i can't even imagine how hard this is for her.Just think that it's a good thing that you will have both of your brothers close by and you can go spend the days or nights together and have a chance to have a bond with Elijah also. This could be a great thing Savanah, now all three of you will be close to each other and hang out more. Luke will be over all the time along with your other brother, but I get it. You will miss seeing him every day. We love you!! It will get easier. 😊😊

Just kidding, actually very happy for him bc he'll be living with Elija. The love between them is so special. I hope moms' wish comes true, that even though he moves out he'll be at moms' house every day for meals. lol. I hope you find a place like 5 minutes away from the family home.
Savannah has such a beautifully sensitive heart. She develops meaningful bonds with so many. Of course she will experience heartache with her Lucas journeying out on his own. But soon, she'll see that their bond is still there and it will get even stronger as they grow into adults. It's great that Elijah is moving there. So, they will all have more time together!

Hi Bella, I'm a veteran who joined a month after 9/11 when i was still 17. I know the recruiters tell you that you'll be "part time" while you go to school but truth is you can be attached to any unit that needs a medic on staff and get shipped out at any time for a minimum of 1 year deployment. it hinders your school time and delays everything. if you really want to get into the medical field because you want to be a doctor do it after you have acquired a bachelors degree (pre med or bilogoly) and join as an officer instead of a medic (non commissioned officer). I promise its the better option, the lifestyle is a lil different and they will help cover medical school. do your research first on your own before signing up. best of luck!

Savannah a reframe may be needed...with Elijah moving closer you are gaining more access to him in your life. It seems like this is made possible with Lucas's help and he will still be local too.
Although...if there is room in the family house or then it would be cool if Elijah and Lucas could take the little apartment on the 2nd floor.
I LOVE that Elijah is moving nearby! Even though it will be sad to have Lucas move out, I feel like the family will gain that extra sibling with Lucas and Elijah coming around often.
My son’s best friend joined the Navy after Graduation, and went to medical school while serving. He is 50 now. He’s seen the world got married twice. And is very happy. He was such a goofy kid it’s hard to believe he’s really a doctor!

I can relate to Hailie so much, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I would have cried too. Sweet Savannah and Crystal, hugs to you both. My oldest moved out the week after graduation, it’s been 3 weeks and one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to adjust to! How does your mama heart handle the sadness of missing your kids! I’m so happy and proud of him it’s just so hard. Some days I’m good, others I miss him being home so much any little thing can make me cry.

Why do all the kids feel they have to leave the nest as soon as they graduate?? Man when I graduated my parents always encouraged me to save up before rushing into a place of my own.

Some places let you get an apartment at 17 if your parents sign off on the lease. I turn 18 a month from today and I just got my first apartment the beginning of this month.
Its just the sad part of adoption when children are split up their heart will always be torn into pieces..its a shame u didnt meet lucas and savannah earlier in life so you could have adopted their brother too

We've grown up and live in separate cities now but travel once a year for 3 weeks just the two of us. We catch up on life and enjoy our time together!! Cherish all the memories!
It's great to have a plan. As long as they understand ( or will learn ) that people change, situations change , life happens and if you're flexible and willing to adapt to changes...life is a little easier to deal with. Having the safety net of a stable family and good support system also makes stepping into young adulthood much easier to navigate.

I completely understand your feelings about Bella and the Army. Both of my sons went that route and it was hard. Trust me the pride you will feel will overtake the worry!!

Id be cautious going into the army, I'm sure the reserve is a bit different but you will never get everything your recruiter promises you, you basically have to do whatever they tell you until that contract is up and they don't take care of our troops the way they should be. I'm sure it's a great opportunity for medical training and free college id just be aware of everything you're signing up for and get experiences from people who aren't your recruiter.
I Made The Same Comment About This Situation. My Husband Is In The Army And We Found Out A Lot Of Things After The Fact My Husband Signed His Contract. His Recruiter Told Him The Position He Wanted Was Only For Active Duty So My Husband Decided To Take It Still Cause It’s Something He Wanted To Do! When He Went Into OSUT 75% Of The New Recruits Was National Guard As An 11b! But Guess What National Guard And Reserve Gets Deployed More. We PCS’d To Our New Station 6 Months Ago And The Army Hasn’t Reimbursed Us For Our Move Yet And Decided To Tell Us They Wont Reimburse Us For The Transportation Of Our Vehicles. Just Keep In Mind I’m From Hawai’i And Moved All The Way To North Carolina, That Was One Hell Of An Expensive Move For A Short Period Of Time. They Sugar Coat A Lot Of Things Which Sucks Because During The Whole Transition The Recruiters Aren’t The Ones Helping Us We’re On Our Own Working Around The Army’s Time. My Husband Is Pretty Much Only Getting Paid $3 An Hour Because Hes On Salary, I Was Getting Paid More Then Him Back At Home. I Wish I Could Go Back Home But I Took A Vowel To Stay By His Side. Sorry Just A Little Rant

The day my brother moved out was so traumatizing. I live in a big city and he moved an HOUR away from me in the same city. I had no car, and no way to visit, so I didn't see him for months on end. Then after a year, he moved all the way to Hawaii, and it was like 3 more years before I saw him. I cannot emphasize this enough, that you should spend the time with your loved ones as much as you can when they are there and present. Turn off your phone, laugh, watch movies, just chill because it really sucks when they leave.

It's so neat to have a pool in these instances when it's SO hot. If I ever have a family, I hope to have a home with a pool like this. Maintenance might be annoying, but it's wholesome moments like this that make it worth it. 😊

My daughter is in the army national guard. I was against it at first too. She is 5 years in now and she has grown so much and going to Physical assistant school. Couldn’t be more proud of her. I remember when I left home. My mom did not like the idea, and I did not just move out, I moved overseas. I had signed up for the military.
and after basic training I was assigned to Germany. It would be a little over a year before I saw my mom again. She called me or wrote every week. Lucas has a good foundation because of you and Aaron. He will go far because he is grounded, and he knows how to organize himself.

Go Bella, that's awesome. I have a cousin that was in the Air Force reserve medical in HS, she retired after 20 years. She flew the f16 planes. She's the director of pathology services in a hospital. I hope Lucas takes plenty of time to think before moving, finishing school first.
