I know from very painful real world experience that you never stick it in crazy, but this is fiction and just for fun. And if I'm guessing right, the redacted name there is actually my favourite character in Re:Zero, but I've got more than enough love for them, and several orders of magnitude than enough lust for Echidna.

Yup, these episodes still hit me right in the feels the second time around as well. Probably because I see myself in Subaru and then the whole fact that he just one day disappeared and how that probably affected them is just so sad to think about. Unless of course time in his world moves differently, but well seeing as nothing usually goes his way I doubt the creator is going to give him a happy ending where both his parents, Rem and Emilia are there with him.
Ep4 gets a whole lot more sad once you realise Subaru knew all the way through the episode that it was all a dream, because knowing that you can see him trying to rectify and hold onto the last time I think he'll ever get to see his parents.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but those pangs of pain subaru was getting in his chest and head were supposed to resemble anxiety/panic attacks from certain triggers (missing school for example) and you can see its a common occurrence at the part when he goes "that usually calms it down" :(((

Re:Zero. The only isekai that makes you want the protagonist to return to his own world.
I love the “Parent and Child” episode. It gives so much insight into Subaru. Subaru’s personality is just like dad and he is so proud of him. So we see where his excess arrogance and pride in season 1 came from. He feels inferior to his dad. So we see where his postering comes from and why he connects with Rem so well who grew up with the same inferiority complex. And how they helped each other when they could not help themselves. And we saw his panic attacks when forced to face reality. So we see why he was so willing to accept a fantasy world from moment one and why he played mad to gain sympathy when he felt trapped without options, when he tried to convince himself there was nothing he could do. And we see how this new world is helping him grow.
And might I say what great parents Subaru has.

That would be cool but from what we know it doesn't seem like he'll ever go and leave Emilia behind ever, even if he had the chance to go home. But it would be great if he could somehow communicate with them and let them know he didn't vanish to give them closure too.

What makes episode 29 even sadder is that even though Subaru had gotten his resolution with his parents, his parents never had their resolution with him. In his real world, his parents continue to look for their lost son.
