You forgot the most important tips of all time
All roads leads to Gran Soren
GOBLIN!
it's a HUUMAN!
"are you alright Arisen?"
The duke could stand to commission new roads
Wolves hunt in packs
Do go out at night time and revel in what a night should be in an RPG. It's not only realistic it's engrossing.
These are just tips for beginners.
+Captain August I know. I still think they should go out at night. :)
+4tech69 lol well played sir
+4tech69 the best thing is walking the coast and cliffs at night with the wind howling, bushes dance in and out of your lanterns small circle, you hear the distant bellows of some massive beast, you see far off torches crawl across the countryside. the night time is engrossing just like you said, some of my best memories of the game
+Captain August Indeed. It's one of those moments that has stuck with me. I've never played any title that provided such a realistic portrayal. Not to mention, making you feel like at any moment you could run into something horrible and often will.
Awful, you didnt even mention the only beginner tip you really need:
Wolves hunt in packs
+trabuco9 Goblins HATE fire! Okay next quote!
+ncshuriken Off the boat!
+trabuco9 HARPIES!!
+ThraxI1019 they're nimble! watch your back!
DovahPigReborn
"The fiends are SWIFT!"
" Tip 2: Bitterblack Isle is hard. " I like this.
yeah goblins, hobgoblins, and a room full of deers and rabbits! horrible place to be... not for the first quarter of the area. Difficulty than steps gradually so you can easily pull back.
Bitterblack is a fun place to level up. At least for me.
According on the level You can go further and further. (starting at 10)
One more tip. Should be #1. Always remember this, and it will make the game easy. . . .
RAIN STEEL UPON IT!!!!!
METAL_MASTER4686 I would say "wolf's hunt in packs is a close 2nd"
Just played for the first time a couple days ago and went to bitterback at level 4 or something because the game told me "not sure where to go? follow the purple markers" or whatever.
Yeah no.
+B. Henry Haha yea, going there at low levels is just suicide man! Even at level 60-80+ theres one enemy in there that WILL kill you and your pawns in ONE hit, and he can even be in the 1st room (like he was with me!) because he just roams around randomly, looking for pathetic humans so he can instakill them all.
+ncshuriken You mean that death like black thing?
I meet it, killed my pawn and 1 hired pawn. I somehow survived as it just vanished when i was dealing with those annoying goblins at the time.
Grega Meglic Yea that's the guy! I'm guessing the only way to kill this thing is to use ranged attacks? Getting up close pretty much always ended with the game over screen... Some1 needs to take this guy DOWN!
going bitterback at low levels and raiding chests like a thief in the night is what I did. Who cares about enemies, just ninja loot lol.
@@ncshuriken as yeah Death, best to run from it until your strong enough to fight it.
The best tip I had was from my pawn:
"Head shots are effective!"
Who'd have thought it, eh?
but did he say wolfs hunt in packs tho?
U forgot to mention one important thing about saving, there is a hard save (check point) and a quick save. The normal save is a quick save, and if you quit the game and come back it will be at that time. However, if you choose spawn at last check point, that is the hard save, hard save can only be done when u rest or use a rift stone
"A watchtower perhaps? But watching over what?"
"What's this? What's that?" I love my pawns
One of the things that I liked about dragons dogma was probably the fast travel. I like how you would have to literaly walk to places you want to be instead of teleporting
It made certain quests feel really grand and arduous when tracking towards places such as the blue moon tower, fighting a bunch of different enemies on the journey as your party slowly became weaker, more worn and then when you make it to the tower and the view was so worth it, and there's no other rpg that gives you that feeling

I don't usually go to Bitter-Black Isle till level 90, But the game does recommend going at level 50 or above, so yeah you are correct.
Good tips, didn't know about unequiping the offhand weapon to make them more aggressive, definitely going to be useful. Added you on Steam as well, can't wait for this game to release
+Econ Geist me too man, counting the minutes !
2021 and on my 5th playthrough, that last tip saved my pawn Legola from being turned into another Warrior or Sorcerer. Wanted to try out a Ranger Pawn but he always uses daggers, but it didn't occur to me that I could just remove the daggers. Thanks man!
i love traveling night, its farming time
Thanks so much for making this vid Cap! I just started playing today and loving it so far but obviously things are confusing right now till I workout what makes this game tick.
Nice video. I just preordered the game and was reading about the game a bit and figured i would look for some starting tips in video form to help me out. Thanks!
+Natas O.o Thanks man no problem! Ill probably be making a few more of these soon, more for intermediate players so be sure to come by again
+Captain August Already subscribed :P
Hi. I just finished my 2nd run of PoE and i was itching to buy me some RPG with a bit more action hack and slay. I was browsing youtube and you baiscally sold this game to me. ^^
The combat looks really fun. looking forward to playing once the wind up modem gets all the bits and bytes down XD.
+Makrokosmos yea man its hella fun!
Best advice I was given and adhere to is a 2 part piece. Play what you enjoy and don’t be afraid to try a different class to get a feel for it.
Min maxing is cool and all but enjoy your journey.
definitely yes
Aweaome vid for a new comer to this game thanks man!
Love the content subed 100%
super helpful vid man. short funny and to the point
This really helped me a lot! I bought it on ps3 yesterday and played for, I think, 4 hours but I died many times and it's strange because I thought it was as easy as Skyrim or something X) but when I died many times in the beginning then I thought "Oh no... Don't tell me it's Dark souls-like..." But I guess I just sucked at it and went to places where the ennmies are too powerfull for me. I'll stick to your advices, thanks a lot!
Awesome tips dude, thank you!!
The gameplay in the background is a tip and tricks video in itself! Seeing you fight makes me feel like I have a LONG way to go haha!
DEF gonna add you on steam as soon as I get off work! haha
Taris-Personal I actually made this video a couple days before it came out, the footage was graciously allowed for my use by fluffyquack, he's a beast!
Then I thank you both! I'm currently lv 29 and loving the game! Gonna use all those tips (especially the one about the pawns inclination and fighting styles).
I just started playing on the Switch. Thanks for the video.
Veteran player but never thought of taking away a weapon. I’ll be sure to try it out!
Very informative. Subscribed!

+Toothmother Thanks alot dude!
Never heard the last one before, I wish I could have my level 140 something from the PS3 but honestly I'm enjoying replaying the game.
As soon as it drops I'll make a video of some good weapons early in the game
+Eclipsers I want the series to do well and for DD2 to happen so I'll gladly support them with my $. No thanks on the pirate
+Captain August amen! btw am i blind or I cannot see your steam name in this video's info! feel free to send me a msg on youtube or something. i.ll gladly take any steam friends I could find who have a bit of DD DA knowledge!

no problem man! my steam id is in my channel "about" tab. but its also just Captain August lol
+Captain August We both captains ,I might see you on my travels kind sir.
indeed and you sir.
I cant help but notice that the background music here appears to be the music that plays during the Dark Souls 1 character creation...
I approve.
+544connor 4 sure
Awesome video, exactly the type of shit I was looking for. Thanks!
Awesome video
2:53
Cyclops: "Oh...so that's what you were doing."
Dark souls sound track in the video? SUBSCRIBED!
great video
The most important tip-
Caxton and his masterworks collection, you can't go wrong.
Surprisingly usefull actually.
This game has DS vibes with exploration being rewarding and somewhat with difficulty if you're not leveled or prepared, MH with some enemies (ex Saurians) being extra vulnerable after taking a body part off and SOTC to a lesser degree.
My gripe is the portcrystsl system but aside from that no complaints so far
awesome video
when i was level 3 i went to bitterblack and farmed the wolves and goblins (ive beat the game several times, new game plus , bitterblack twice and all) it only takes a long time if you do everything you can streamline the main story down to a few hours if you really want to. and u can skip the entire first half of bb your 2nd time around since u can just run past the monsters into the next area . you dont actually have to kill things unless your in a room with a locked door.
I didn’t know this game exist !! It looks so good, I will play it. I just don’t know which class I should use.
Yes, Pre ordered and pre loading now..:)
best game ever
Liked and subbed.
You sir are awesome
Nice dark souls music on the background 👌🏻
"Fast Travel"
I loved this in the OG Dragon's Dogma where there was like only one portcrystal. I think you could get more but you had to do NG+ to get another... I think. But I liked it because it made me feel like Lord of The Rings traversing Mordor with a party of 4. Was pretty cool. Don't get me wrong, the fast travel aids subsequent playthroughs (replays) and makes the game more open. But I still like to just journey without it a lot of the time.
hi it was really f helpfull thx man =D
Hi there. I absolutely loved playing this game back on the PS3. I bought it even a second time when the complete edition with dlc came out. I'm thinking now of picking up the PS4 version.
0:48 in this area there are holes in the walls that are probably only accessible for a low stature character. I've always wondered if it's possible. Do know if you can make a small sized character to enter them? Or can you command a small pawn to enter? And is it worth the while?
At 4:31 I knew EXACTLY what area you were about to talk about.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry that I just knew.
+Manwithtwohands :D im so fucking stoked for this
hey thx a lot for your tips men
If Dcigs loves Pokemon then I loves this gaem!
Thanks
i love this game its a masterpiece in my eyes i lvoe it great game
absolutely
Had no idea about the rusted bow 😲
THANK YOU
Wow, cool advice, might make Ranger Pawns use their bow :P
subbed i wanna see that walktrough xD
thank you
+Dodo Shade np man, ill keep em comin so stick around!
how do you even load a savestate? I can only load from the last time I saved at an Inn and that's not really helpful
Man I just beat Witcher 3 3 times so I started this game. 3 days I have not picked back up just started. Just seems overwhelming. But about to go back at it.
Here's a tip. After you fight the Dragon, the King will turn the city Guard loose on you. Hang on the ledge of a wall in that area. They spawn infinitely and give very little exp. In turn you'll earn insane discipline because the guards will primarily target you (to no avail) while your pawns kill them off. Then go to work for 8 hours and come back. By then you'll have all the skills of whatever class you were entirely unlocked.
@TheZachZone - Gaming the one next to the church lol.
Pawn: This looks interesting.
*picks up a stone*
Son consejos extremadamente útiles muchas gracias
awesome game
Found the eternal fairystone pretty early on
so I placed those teleport stones at all major locations that are close to all smaller locations and I never have any problem getting anywhere.
Its a nice thing, tough I wish it was some kind of reward for killing a special boss, not just getting it at the start of the game.
Personal downside to the game is when I started playing as a warrior, downside is you only get 3 skill slots and no block (how can you not block with a huge sword or hammer? sure it should not negate all damage, but somewhat reduce it, and give me 3 extra skills to use.)
+jefthereaper yea it would def be super cool to get the eternal ferrystone like 1/2 way through the game from a boss drop
I have this for xbox since my pc cant run this game and what is a good mage setup for a pawn
Loved this. I just got this for the switch and it overheated it twice so I picked it up for the PS4 even though I did a playthrough on the PS3 and I am loving the PS4 version for the frame rate/speed. It had been years since I played so I am adopting your tips to my initial playthrough on PS4. Lastly, you made my laugh very hard about the pawns removal of shield or off hand weapon. "They go ham as fuck" was just hilarious and accurate. Great vid bud!
I like the dark souls character creation menu song lol
im 17 hours in and i fucking still apply to this video, this game is fucking great
thanks for the tips ))
(_request sent_)
30+ hrs to wait ...
You get a like for dark souls one music in the background lol
Is there a way to turn off the HUD?
And if there is, is the game able to be played completely with no hud?
I can't find your steam name in the description.
Mine is iquaniqua
4:00 Well now I feel weird cus I don't, I go through the abilities and decide what my party needs to complete it, making it well rounded.
Why is game not over till end of ng+ as from what I read nothing is added story wise
Can you please tell me the name of the spell at 3:08 and 6:43 and how do I learn it?
Persoanlly, this is dungeon and dragon (remember that arcade game?) boosted in a whole new level. I like it. Namely because I am so tired of being a one man hero, like Link, and battle my way through hordes of foes. In fact, I have been long dreamt of having a game similar to dungeon and dragon but it has more... FREE WILL. This is my kind of game; I can be whoever the hell I want; I can decide the type of class my teammate should be. This is a good game indeed
I got the game 3 days ago and I'm addicted I am level 41 and have over 1 and a half million gold also I'm at the quest where I have to confront the dragon but I'm gonna level up some more before I fight it cuz I have heard post game is alot harder and I wanna do as much quests as I can pre game
Post game you can buy infinite port crystals at the Black Cat. In case no one knew that
I love taking on giants the hard way even at night. The only enemies that I hate are the harpies, cockatrice and the ghosts.
Nice vid :) watched as its rereleased tonight on ps4 and done any since the 360 days lol Anyone think the guys voice sounds like Bruce from Family Guy?! :)
Anyone know if you keep all your stuff/progression in a newgame+ on hard or so?
+Kingandhorse I don't know about on hard mode, but all items, skills and such will carry over into NG+, even items that you'd think shouldn't (no spoilers!).
At first you won't have your stuff, but don't panic its all waiting for you at the Gran Soren inn.
get "dinput8.dll hooks" from the nexus, it fixes a few things but most importantly: the "manual" in the main menu, when select, will allow you to customize your character and pawn freely, as many times as you'd like.
It's very faint but is that Dark Souls Menu Music in the background?
Great game. Still haven't figured out how to get my pawns (main one and the other 2 that can follow you) to fight with me a little more. Sometimes seems like they are just standing around while I'm fighting some of the beasts.
Rob Zombi look upinclinations! You can make them more aggressive
Captain August
Ok cool. Thanks bro! I didn't know that. I will check it out. Nice channel bro. Gonna check out your other stuff/videos too!
I'm new at this game and have a stupid question. When I level up, do I have to do anything to make use of it or does it automaticly buff my character stats?
+Moto748 your stats lvl by themselves. along with xp to lvl up, you also get vocation points or whatever they are called to spend on new skills and moves, you buy them from an inn or elsewhere and equip them there after you buy them
+Captain August Thanks a bunch! Also, does the weight of the character's equipment effect your stamina regen? If so I have to store alot of shit at this point. Already half full on my Warrior.
im not sure. i dont think weight affects stamina regen speed, it does make u run way slower though. you should deposit and crafting materials and gear ur not using whenver u go to an inn, that helps with weight. and limit your potions and such to just what you need
I couldn't find your steam name on your channel. I did find you on Twitter and followed you.
why i'm focusing the bg music in your video, and it sounds like.. dark souls
Aww. Too bad I didn't play this game in 2016, its 2 days from 2018. I'm Level 19 now.
Let's be friends on steam and rent each other's pawns. My steam account name is JTfromMp
You forgot the most important tip:
HARPIES
i can hear Dark Souls music in the background am i going crazy
