I had never even heard of it before 2021, wow what a fun game. The fights are such a blast.
Still can't believe it's a ps3 game. Evolution at simple point in gaming.
Skyrim is boring
And he didn't even mention Bitterblack Isle which is this entirely new area added as a full expansion. It contains the toughest enemies and the strongest gear and loot in the game. Seriously try this game out. I keep coming back to it once a year and I've been playing since 2013!

The "Chair of knowledge" is very, very important, you use it to set your pawn's behavior, dont just choose randomly as you can end setting your ranger pawn to prioritize loot seeking, close combat and defend the other pawns
i'm a little desapointed that you can't give them a personality where they look down on you like a sadist
Actually inclination potions are way better than the chair

The man of my dreams was actually the blacksmith from Gran Soren. I laughed my ass off though the whole ending because it was so damn random 😂
I finished the quest with the Witch and saved the king's wife from prison and yet I got the blacksmith. Simply because I sold him a lot of useless stuff.
I like how you are referred to as "Arisen" in game, it sort of alludes to being "the chosen one" but sounds more like a title or status, like "ashen one" in Dark Souls

This games a diamond in the rough man, it's a unique experience that's for sure. I hope to see a Dragon's Dogma 2 in the semi near future that'd be amazing :D.

It's on sale for 8 bucks in the play station store. Just got it few days ago. Been playing it every day... as soon as I wake up I wake and bake than beat monsters up lol
actually the character progression goes like this:
your class of choice until level 10 - assassin until level 100 - your class of choice again.
I love being a meta slave.
nah not true...i have different characters maxed, leveling another just now and min/max isn't that important, since with gear and passives, you'll reach that cap where you melt everything in seconds anyway.
the true character progression goes: play whatever you want, whenever you want, since is a long long game and you wanna have fun playing it. Following a useless meta just ruins a player experience

I have done a good portion of the side quests I think
But other than the random kill/gather 50+ of X thing quests I’m not seeing a whole lot more to do and I’m at the “deny salvation” quest. Is this pretty much the end of the main story? Should I do it now or clear as much side content as possible. Currently level 46
Using different vocations may increase different stats but in the Endgame when you have fully upgraded lvl 3 BBI gear it doesnt matter anywhere. There might me a gap but it will not make the difference. So have fun and test all the vocations. Its worth it.

I just got the game on switch on sale at a huge discount assuming it would be basic as hell and kinda crap, but I was absolutely blown away by the tutorial section and first town, so I immediately started the game over because I made a derpy joke character at first.
I knew the game was fun on my first go, but on my second try I hacked that chimera to bits! I jumped on its snake tail and hacked it off, then the goat.. it felt surgical and I felt almost bad for it! Haha
I’m excited! I haven’t enjoyed an in-depth rpg this much since Dragon Age Origins which I played over once for each origin! Haha

@@charliethecockatoo2159 yes, on PS4. Bought this game several years ago (at least two but probably even more) and I came back to it at least 3 times during the years. A very fun and good game.
But one underappreciated aspect is also how you mature throughout your life and revives back old experiences.
The first time I played this game i was 15 years old and I only cared about the combat system.
Now I was able to appreciate more the story and it's philosophy, the music, etc, and it was like a brand new experience.
The main OST of Bitterblack island, despite short, always give me goosebumps
@@rotanux I understand, I feel the same about a couple of games from my childhood. We appreciate those somewhat superficial things when we're young, but then we mature and sort of... grow into the game, if that makes sense.
Sort of like they've grown up _with_ us.

Who can't be romantic interests? I love this game and played it a lot but never thought about romancing the Duke for example. That or the Black Cat? Can you still use him post Dragon if he's you're love interest? I did try to romance the nuns but didn't have much luck. Not saying it can't be done but I had no luck. At least she wasn't there when I faced the dragon. I've hear you can stop people from being your love interest by pulling out your weapon repeatedly.
Nuns are expensive, because you should give them potions. Try Clarus, 5 potions and you get an escort mission with a gold staff as reward, give her more potions every time you go to the Abbey and she’s yours. I think all characters with a name can be the romantic interest. Never thought of that, mine was Reynard. He got the most romantic lines in the game.
if you give someone the Arisens bond it will max their affinity and they'll be your beloved
The xbox one version has decent hd graphics compared to the 360.
Also I get the preorder and rare items like jesters hat, eternal ferrystone, etc

9:00 ahah NO NO... I fought this chimeria way to much in my 1st play through and I died so many times, but I finally killed it and I forgot to save so I started walking up a hill and a sneaky Boulder RKO me off the cliff and killed me so I spawned back and had to fight him again I was so sad I just turned my console off... I fought him over 10 times...
So I got online last night for the first time and funny enough I summon a pawn that appeared as my level and turned out she was like a level 160 but with all the skills of My Level which was 30, anyone know where I can get another lol she's fantastic

Go to any riftstone, like the one you went to make your pawn and you can enter the nexus. There's also one back in Cassardis. Interact with the riftstone and you can recruit and dismiss other pawns.

I'd say it's 100% worth it. I'd say I've had more fun with this game than I've had with Skyrim in a long while.

I'm playing this on PC with unlimited sprint mod out of combat. I don't think I would enjoy this as much if the stamina affected run out of combat. This game has a lot of running back and forth
I love the game. But I often wanna stop playing it just cuz of the stamina problem. But I still play it. It's worth it lol.

Why use shit-ass STEAM when you can have DRM-free games on GOG?
I've dumped over 400 hours into this game when it just came out, and recently returned for a while, and I must say - this game is fucking shit. Well, Capcom isn't exactly famous for developing games with super polished mechanics and quest design, but this one is just on another level - with a game being like 60% cut in development, this is literally a bunch of assets slapped together. Difficulty curve is nonexistent(hard mode makes about zero difference if you have more than two brain cells to adjust), gear progression is a mess where you go from 0 to 100 in a matter of hours, class system is by the worst that I've ever seen in this caliber of RPGs in terms of, again, progression - despite the initial excitement of any vocation being available at any time, if you wan't to be even remotely effecient with your builds you are forced to level as a class(es) that you don't want to play, and after that you are likely locked in one or two options with your final stat allocation, which in turn insentivizes you to delete your caharcters go and do fucking cheeze death runs because they have never bothered to put in a respec system.
Pawn "system" is s half - baked noodle, and the game doesen't bother to tell you that pawns have treitary inclanations which actually affect them, players just figured this out. Also half of these are downright terrible and weaken new players pawns significantly withouy them even knowing why.
The NG cycle is kinda neat in concept, but also one of the most tedious goddamn experiences I've ever had before I figured out how to speedrun everything.
Cities are dead and videogamy, the wilderness feels even more videogamy, the world is INCREDIBELY ill-concieved for the story that this game is trying to tell - this is like reading a bad fantasy novel while being high as balls on ketamine in Yorkshire suburbs. Even the baseline concept of the game is wacky af.
The majority of playtime in this game is struggling to understand how the fuck does this game work, or trying to solve problems that developers themselves created.
The list goes on, and on, and on.
But you know what?
Despite all of these atrocious design decisions, if you forget that this game has a story, are willing to put up with the constant tedium of managing your iventory/pawn and to suffer through the main quest, (and possibly slap some mods on top) you will get a truly special, unique experience.
It has a very tightly designed combat that is neither the best, nor groundbreaking, but feels REALLY good to play. When you run around and kill stuff in post-daemon BBI, it is genuinely very fun, and just challenging enough to keep you engaged at all times.
You just feel like every element of it just comes together nicely.
A lot of the scenery looks gorgeous(especially with ENB), the visual design and aesthetic choicesis are mostly unique or just well fitting, and so are the concepts(specifically the in-game explanations/justifications of game mechanics and areas), like the rift, everfall, dragonforging etc.
Some of the main game bosses are one of the most epic monster confronations I've ever seen, completely overshadowing even dark souls in some regards, and bosses are few but remarkably done.
Soundtrack is pretty fantastic (except DD:DA main menu theme, inferior to the original DA imo).
When everything is set up and running, the gameloop is pretty good, and most importantly, nowhere else to be found.
The gigantic potential this game had is visible with naked eye.
A solid foundation for s sequel, but the likelihood of that happening is rather small, unfortunately.
In short - this is the dark souls 2 of capcom. It's shit, but shit's unique and I love it.
If I'm ever tired of playing "safely" designed titles and don't feel like playing souls(likes) or whatever, I'm definetly will give it a spin again.
