I was at that game . I was up high in the same corner of the end zone watching Matthews haul in that pass. One of the greatest games ever I went to in Ann Arbor. I kind of think Michigan lost patience with Rodriguez prematurely later in his coaching career. Hopefully Harbaugh will use the spread and have a defense
Not a Notre Dame fan, but Michigan got a ton of "home cooking" in this one. The unsportsmanlike conduct on Notre Dame's 2-point conversion was ridiculous.
I never understand this. The clock operators are terrible. The only time I’ve seen them put time back on the clock in this situation was Texas v Nebraska in 2009 when Colt McCoy mistimed his throw out of bounds, and almost cost Texas a place in the National Championship.
The game was decided on the controversial overturn of Allen’s TD in the first quarter...With the ensuing kickoff that was an eleven point swing for Michigan. A blatant PI on Golden Tate on 2nd down on Notre Dame’s last offensive possession wasn’t called. That and the 72 yard pass to Rudolph that was negated by penalty. Notre Dame had Clausen, Rudolph, Floyd, Tate, Allen....My god how did they lose this game. Despite what Schembachler said this game meant more Michigan than Notre Dame. As a Notre Dame fan I’m glad we no longer will be playing this team. It’s too regional of a rivalry for two programs that are both national. 17-17-1 in the modern era.
I think it’s our 2nd best rivalry wish we played early in the season every year. We’re always neck & neck in historic records both programs are usually around the same level & there’s so many classic games even if we haven’t played many. It’s pretty much the “has been bowl” these days but I’d rather play UM than more acc schools
That makes no sense whatsoever. Not so much the whining, but the claim that its a regional rivalry for 2 national programs. The fact that it's two national brands makes it a highly watched and anticipated rivalry on the national stage. Does anyone call other big rivalries too regional? Michigan-Ohio State, Auburn-Alabama, Oklahoma -Texas, are some of the biggest rivalries because their regional closeness means more history and fan interaction.
I believe Schembechler said the Notre Dame game is to determine how good the team was early on like a good test game that’s what most of these teams do now-a-days with these home and home series games that we’d never expect Clemson-UGA, ND-A&M, Texas-Michigan them type of games I miss the yearly MICH-ND, MSU-ND and PUR-ND rivalry games
Michael Floyd was cooking us all day long. When he got injured the game I was like whew 😥

I respect your opinion
Now at the end of the game I don’t know why 2 seconds came off the clock before the final snap
2009 Notre Dame offense may be the most wasted talent in CFB history.
2:47:08 Does the ball hit the ground there? If it does, then there should have been one second left.
keep crying
At the very least, it should have been reviewed.
