I'll never understand why OSU didn't put a spy on mcsorely until the final drive.
The play itself wasn't bad, Chase Young made that play for Ohio State. If you look at the blocking scheme you can see that the LBs had all shifted to the left side of the line and the entire secondary is also to the left. Penn State ran the ball to the right and if someone had picked up Young then that play goes for 6 every day of the week. This was more an O-Line issue than a playcalling issue. If 71 gets a block on Chase it's 32or34 (PSU would have gone for 2 there) to 27 and Ohio State would have a little over a minute to respond.
TL;DR- It was more of a Chase Young making a good play than PSU making a bad call.
@@aaronalvin3992 the thing is that Sanders hadn't been able to run the ball all night. If it wasn't working at all earlier in the game, idk why Penn State thought it was a good idea to give Sander the ball on the most important play of the game.
@@aaronalvin3992 You don't run on 4'th and 5 while trailing on last drive period! You pass in those situations!
@@walterm5298 oh I'm with you 100%, I'm just pointing out that their scheme wasn't bad for what the defense showed. I think Trace should have had the ball in his hands for a run throw option, Franklin screwed up, but the play was drawn up well for what was shown, just not executed properly.

I've watched this over and over and I can't get enough of Terry McLauren taking out 3 Penn State defenders on the touchdown pass to K J Hill. That's why he was offensive player of the game!! Even on B Victors catch and score it's Paris Campbell, Berry and Dixon all 3 making blocks after the catch which is what champions do!!

The Penn State home blues juxtaposed against the Ohio State road whites is just about the most visually pleasing uniform combination on the gridiron.
The environment was crazy and they won. Very intense game, this is why we watch football.
There are games where you learn players names. Last year against psu it was johnnie Dixon. This year against TTUN it was Chris olave. This game was undoubtedly chase young

Franklin is in over his head. So overrated. He wins against inferior opponents. Can't win games that count. He won one game in 2016 against Ohio State and had hung his hat on that alone.

Each game the other team won their opponent should have won lmao. This is what made a trifecta of classics. Even as a PSU fan, these games hurt like a bitch especially the horrid choking, but deep down they are just too good of games to hate on both sides. Rivalry games and high intensity games like this are insane with the playoff like atmosphere. I knew PSU was losing after only being up 6-3 in the first with that utter domination smfh

Terry McLaurin is THE embodiment of THE Ohio State football. Dude was WR3 or WR4 that year, but they could not have defeated State Penn if it wasn't for his selfless blocking. That's why he's a star.

At 15:51 number 71 didn't do his job. If he actually moves his feet and gets into number 2 on the defense instead of reaching from his stationary position to throw a block then the outcome of that play call would've been entirely different. Imo number 71 blew it along with that VERY questionable play call.

That final play call by PSU was dumb. That shit blew my mind. In last year's B1G Championship, it reminds me of Wisconsin's final play call in their next to last possession when they set one of their players, I dunno who it was in motion and then Coan pitched it to Jonathan Taylor going the same way straight to Chase Young, Jordan Fuller, and two others, maybe Justin Hilliard was in that mix with them but it just was like what the fuck was they thinking.
How they didnt let Trace decide the game is beyond me but the coaching and play by Young to crash down the line to the a gap is a stroke of genius on the road in a critical Big Ten game. OH. RIP Haskins.
