I couldn't put my finger on it until you pointed out this is in 12/8 - fantastic spot! I am much more used to hearing it in 9/8. I have to say, what a strange choice to put it in 12/8 for just this performance!

The song is in 9/8 timing, so it's supposed to have that lilting, waltzy, triumphant sound. It is a bit weird.
It sounds odd because it's in 12/8 rather than the original 9/8, so you get 4 pulses per bar instead of 3.
