- Hi everyone! It has been a minute! Today I'm back with a video talking through my thoughts and recommendations on knowing which flute is right for you and your skill level. This can be tricky for beginners as often they're not sure on what they should be looking for and for intermediate players if they don't know whether it is worth upgrading.

Isn't sterling silver easier to tarnish?
Hi! I personally haven't had major issues with tarnishing - I just make sure to really clean the outside of my flute after every play. If it does get heavily tarnished though, a repairer can easily clean that up for you or you can use treated silver polishing cloths. Overall, more silver in your flute will allow you to make a nicer sound compared to the plated flutes so personally I think it's definitely worth it.
