@h k Hello, I'll be more than happy to answer.
Well for a starter I wanted to go to the medical field, but since my score wasn't enough, I opted for architecture. I hated the first 3 years, but 4th and 5th were amazing; the change of heart and mind came after I started looking at the tasks more like a game or brain teaser rather than chores.
Given that I am a very good researcher and a fast learner; I took my skills to my advantage and turned those tasks into fun things to do.
Right now I really do regret not doing well in those 3 years, I wish I can start all over again.
Finally, I suggest that you learn architecture software early on, they'll make life easier later and they are so much fun to work with.

For some one who did not understand what happened after 9:30 .. he painted the background with blue with alt+backspace in the new layer then he made the black Square and kept it selected while hitting mask on layer 1 so the black portions on layer 2 became the revealed part on layer 1.

I just started an interior design course, and I started believing that everything had to look a "certain way" but your videos are showing me that presentation can be very creative and doesn't have to be dry technical drawings (of course those are needed too) but in terms of presenting, you are able to treat the drawings like cool graphics, and I'm really excited to know that! (they don't teach you that in school!)

I'm arch student, I understand your point. I feel like schools want to teach you the foundations first, line drawing, shadow, adding some materials here and there, etc. Then, it's up to you to push the boundaries and experiment. This especially holds true during the later years of your program. That's been my experience and I gotta say it definitely makes your portfolio stand out.

Maybe a stupid question...You can link a file from illustrator to photoshop, but you can't do the opposite, right? So, you save the final image from photoshop? Doesn't that affect your lines and overall quality? (I'm working on my final thesis diagrams, masterplans etc. and I'm usually working on both programs and I'm a bit confused about that, I must say, because most of them are line drawings...)

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  Před 4 lety

You can work both ways around Dimitra. Place linked is a options for both programs. The only reason that I usually go Illustrator and then Photoshop is because once you transform your line drawings from vector to pixels, there's not going back.
So be aware that once you place you PSD file in Illustrator, you won't have the option to change line weight, color and so on.
I hope that clears you doubts. Cheers! 😀

@@LearnUpstairs Thank you for the answer! I think I needed to hear that you can have a perfect line drawing once importing from PSD to IL, but makes sense that you cannot. The only thing I found that maybe doesn't ruin my lines quality, is to import to illustrator only brushes or things like that from PSD. Don't know if that makes any sense though :P

Hi Bruno! As of today, the only course I have is the one on udemy. But I'm planning to release a couple more.
Skillshare is the sponsor of the video. They are great to learn various skills. But my course isn't there.

@@LearnUpstairs :( Sad. I'm getting in love with Skillshare, but it'd be even better if your course was there :/

You should import to a new file. Then if everything is still grouped, you need to "release compound path"
If you google these word you should find a quick step by step tutorial

That may happen! It can be due to a complex geometry in your 3dmodel. What I usually do is this: I try to export by category (layer), to see what is the issue. Then fix anything that needs fixing, or replace the object entirely.
But also I usually give a good 5 minutes or so for the export to go, before trying other stuff as I mentioned.
      I hope that helps!

Is it normal there's no audio on the full video?
