- I found this impact wrench from Japan recycle shop without the battery. There is a power cord between the tool and the battery, it may not easy to use. I believe that it isn't easy to find the original battery pack. I decide to modify the way of using battery from cord to cordless way.

That tool is so old, even I do not remember it.... My first Makita, at a fairly young age, was a 7.2 volt cordless electric screwdriver/drill.... Had a pack of Nickel cadmium batteries that slid in & out of the handle, and then you could recharge them on a charger.... Was a very nice tool, to be honest, I loved it.... Now I'm thinking, that would have been 1987, 1988, something like that?? I think? Cordless tools then were very exotic, and expensive. Construction workers and jobsite workers, if there was no commercial AC Power, they'd just run generators, to power everything....
That thing you just fixed seems to pre-date even that.... I presume the concept was to plug a cord, from the tool, to a power source??? 14.4 volts... Did they want you to plug it into a car or truck battery??? Was that the idea? For people who are at a remote jobsite???? Or I guess 12 Ni-Cads would be 14.4 exactly.... A running truck would be around 14.2-14.4 volts though.... Nice round number....
I'm reading in the video description now, sorry, but you seem to indicate that there WAS a Makita Branded battery pack that belonged with the impact driver???? Fascinating. I honestly never saw anything like that.... I'm in the USA though, maybe that was Japan only??? I don't know...

You have recovered well and well. everything is wonderful. I have been repairing machines like this for 25 years. But now I see that where I live the product is sold very cheaply, a machine like this costs 23USD, with 2 batteries. 1 charger and box. People buy it to use, but if it breaks, it's considered scrap. Now I still find it difficult to accept correction. Buy accessories for $15, repair time takes 1 day
