On May 04, 2022, MilViz released the Cessna 310R. This Cessna is the most systemsm intense general aviation aircraft released to date for Flight Simulator. With the systems depth modelled in this aircraft it is possible to follow the sequential real world operational checklists from startup to shutdown offering unparalleled realism in the home computer.
Join me, from Flagstaff Arizona, in this immersive simulated flight as we fly an RNAV (GPS) approach into Grand Canyon National Park (KGCN) following the content in the real world Pilot’s Operating Handbook (POH). Step by step flight instructions to fly the 310R for the complete trip from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon National Park airport are provided.

Nice video. It got me thinking, they should incorporate a realistic walk-around process like Hotstart did for the CL650 in X-Plane. Where you click covers, open and close doors, enter and exit the airplane, etc. Much closer to the real thing than switching views. The 310 is my new favorite in MSFS. A blast in VR!

A2A simulation do this but I'm not sure if they for msfs2020. Depending how you fly changes the aircraft. When you walk around you get pictures of linkages and control panels and you have to spot if they good or wearing. Loved them planes but new SIM new toys. Hopefully they bring them for msfs2020. Along with the dodosim 206.
Many thanks for these series of vids. I enjoy really a lot simulating the outside/inside inspections, the startup proc, etc... before taking off and flying. This, together with the reading of the aircraft’s POH and service manuals is perfect for an in-deep knowing of the aircraft. BR!

At 7:55, you pulled the cowl flaps handle *out* to open them. The picture in the MilViz manual shows that it says "pull to close" right between the two handles.
You are very welcome! Good catch! Yes, that brief clip was to be reversed before rendering the video. I missed the correction in the proof. Rendering, uploading and processing by CZcams can take several hours and sometimes more than a day for the 4K version to be processed. This one got in the YT queue quickly and I decided not to re-upload and wait for the process all over again. I will make a note in the description. Thanks again!

I've flown a number of GA planes IRL (never a C310) and all of them mention the primer prior to the starter in the POH. I wonder why every C310 POH I've seen on the web, (including this one) has it reversed? Yet it's actually, Primer then Start (even in the sim). Seems odd to me. BTW, KGCN is a nice little airport. I took a helicopter tour from there a few years ago with two family members. Awesome tour of the Grand Canyon!

I noticed you don't cut the throttle during the flare? You still have quite a bit on. I know in MSFS the plane drops like a brick if you cut - but is that realistic? You don't cut in real life either?
Hi and thanks for dropping by! Real pilots of the 310 say that the landing is pretty close to what you see in the sim. In real life I would cut the throttle just before the wheels touch down. The exact touch down point is harder to predict in the sim so many are waiting for the wheels to touch before cutting the throttle. But you are right, this aircraft drops very quickly and makes for a very hard landing (even just above a stall). So the timing for throttle reduction must be very precise.
Nice video. I purchased this plane but I was wondering about the cowl flaps. I don't see any difference outside the plane when opened or closed. Am I missing something?

At takeoff, should you not accelerate to "blue line" on the airspeed before beginning your initial climb? I heard a real 310 pilot online say that If you lose an engine just after liftoff and are not at or above blue line, you will have great difficulty with directional control and likely end up crashing. What are your thoughts? Does the Milviz 310 flight model handle realistically in an engine out at takeoff?
Hi Barry! Thanks for visiting and commenting. I was doing a maximum power takeoff according to the POH. You are correct about losing an engine on takeoff - many fatalities with pilots not knowing the correct emergency procedure. Inadequate power just after liftoff with an engine out would be a difficult situation with obstacles still to clear. I have performed the engine out in cruise and the model handles properly before and after correction for controlled directional flight. I have not done the engine out situation just after takeoff.
