I can't believe I don't see any comments talking about how Thurop ran away from home at 12-13 and was actually trying to sail off at sea, but he ended up starving and sunburnt for three days. That's insane.

Who feels sad that we don’t (or rarely) get shows like Flapjack anymore?
Smiling friends, I think does a decent job of keeping up the weirdness and humor. But you've probably heard of it already. And I agree, we need more weirdness without making it too surreal and alienating viewers too much
I was just thinking about how this era of 2010-ish cartoons was a pretty unique and great time for cartoons
I'm just delighted that I can watch the Flapjack show any time I like on the Hulu stream. We won't see anything like it again for quite a while (meaning whimsical, weird, and funny--- for kids and adults to love).
I think "Regular Show" (in its first few seasons) does a good job of "keeping up the weirdness and humor", like you said. @@kek848

This guy changed cartoon history. Like every 2010s Cartoon is a descendant of him.
I know that I felt very insecure about my voice, because I have a naturally high voice, and I’m a very big person, and the way he brings flapjack to life with his voice is just wonderful, makes me feel included. He is absolutely brilliant and talented.

I always thought the voice of flapjack was a kid. Can’t make fun of the guys voice because he voluntarily lived on an island by himself because he felt like it. Dudes badass.
I didn’t even know J.G worked on this show. Really cool behind the scenes, shows a lot of insight on how connected everything within CN was.

I always loved this show. It’s too bad that he didn’t go any longer. I do hope they do bring it back for more or release the entire series on DVD

I didn't know the literal creators of Regular Show, Adventure Time, and Gravity Falls worked on this, that's why I remember it to be very good. So cool.
Now I understand why the show has many looks can be deceiving jokes. Like the muscular man with famine voice was actually a girl and a little boy that is actually 38 years old.
Man this creatively genius man genuinely looks like he could totally be a very lively energetic pirate in a live variation of the show and he plays little boy flap. Its just all so golden perfect

Flapjack is an amazing cartoon, it's so unique and interesting with such an adult sense of humor without even being dirty. I can't praise it enough, it's one of the best shows CN ever put on.
Thurop is such an inspirational creative genius!
Few shows can pull off everything perfect and create what feels like a tangible make believe world.

I thought his voice was edited for Flapjack. Same way Matt Stone and Trey Parker do for the kids in South Park. The fact that it's his natural voice is so awesome lol
Trey and Matt used to be able to do the voices without being pitched, but they got older, so they had to use pitch. For Flapjack. Someone else was supposed to be his voice, but the guy never showed up to recording so Van Orman took over. In the last episode Van Orman is live action K’nuckles and his son is live action Flapjack. Bubbie’s vivir actress Roz is live action Bubbie.
Trey Parker used to legit be able to do Stan and Cartmans' voices with no editing lmao

@@justforrow Many of the characters were annoying, a lot of filler, the finale was bad, the mystery was barely there, and also Stan and Bill were really the only great characters. It was the weakest post Flapjack show overall since Disney butchered it. At least Alex is able to be better with Inside Job on Netflix.
@@chillplayer1234 You have to be trolling. The finale was literally the best part. It introduced this amazing end event that was so entertaining to watch and tyed up the plot so perfectly. Everything that had been building up towards the end (which by the way was perfectly presented) was tyed up in this extremely satisfying ending which explained basically everything that the viewers had been wondering (the mystery part which you for some reason said "was barely there"). Also, the characters weren't annoying. They had a lot of depth to them and really only spoke when it would contribute to the plot. Take Ford for example. He has this highly in depth backstory that was initially approached as a mystery (again contradicting your so called "mystery was barely there" argument) and when it was finally revealed most viewers (like me) went "ohhh." It's like when you see a guy in an alleyway doing something for a year and you wonder what he's doing and when you finally find out you go "ohhh," (which is actually kinda like how Stan initially disappeared into an actual alleyway to experiment with the machine to bring Ford back in the early seasons which introduced a sense of MYSTERY "mystery was barely there"). Also, he only spoke when it would contribute to the to the plot and further advance it. Name me one actual thing that was bad about the show besides what you make up in your head.

Actually it was the worst part because everyone's development such as Stan were thrown under the bus. "that was so entertaining" No it wasn't, it was actually insufferable because of Mabel and others. Also nobody died.
"extremely satisfying ending" Lol the ending was actually bad. "They had a lot of depth to them" Again no they didn't, they lacked proper development themselves. Ford was BORING and lacked development. He's poor man's Grunkle Stan so much that JK Simmons doesn't care about him. The mystery was fell flat most of them and was instead replaced with bad comedy. The mystery in season 1 was bad filler. There are actually bad things of the show that make very weak and forgettable. It is like the series Lost where it doesn't take itself seriously and at all by trying be your typical kids cartoon even with story episodes. So many characters were wasted that you can argue Alex Hirsch's first show he worked on Flapjack was better most of the time. The plot of Gravity Falls barely exists. It basically peaked at Not What He Seems. Gravity Falls is only MCU popular because of Bill Cipher and that's it. In reality it goes in the pacing of Thor 2011 most of the time. Adventure Time was the best because it was consistently great and even did mystery better than Gravity Falls that it makes GF look like garbage. You need to see yourself out since you use "you make up in your head" as an argument.
Im glad he was able to turn his life story into such an entertaining show!
Something tells me Thurop is on the spectrum. He has a similar speaking pattern and mannerisms as me.

8:23 the nostalgic feeling this gave me is just something else.
The show is so wonderfully weird and has a really specific look that I enjoy immensely. And I love when they occasionally go really dark, like with the scary cat that Flapjack finds. I think that children love being scared once in a while, as much as they enjoy funny stuff. It's a release. And I will always be a kid at heart so I am drawn to stuff like this wacky show. Have to say, the background music is always so good, as are the sound effects. I'm lucky that Hulu carries TMMOF right now.
This show was my childhood. Not only its my favourite but it was the one that gave us these two such wonderful shows: Adventure Time and Regular Show.

I think that he has Puberphonia bc he still sounds high pitched after puberty & he’s in his 40s which it’s a functional voice disorder that is characterized by the habitual use of a high-pitched voice after puberty, hence why many refer to the disorder as resulting in a 'falsetto' voice.
I don’t think so, people with puberphonia sound a lot different than Orman does. I think that’s just his natural voice.
Flap jack is an awesome show. I need to watch it again. I was watching gravity falls and heard his voice again.

As a young still going artist that believes he's not going to make it, I can't seriously tell you how flapjack is a huge inspiration for my art, humor, writing i love for this show! Pretty sad that CN let this show fall and push it aside very disappointed about that but at least we have it, and the fact that JG quintel, alex hirsh and the creator of adventure time was behind thia is is truly impressive since how big there fan base is
