Thank youuu!
Lovely thanks for saving my time
I need my fece
They said foaming means it’s fake the original one cannot foaming 🤔
@@khalossalim3723 false, I got mine from Sephora and it happens sometimes
This literally happened to me earlier today. Didn’t even googled anything, didnt even say anything out loud, I only feel weird and gave it a shrug. The FBI who is surveilling me is so kind for bringing this out for me.
ME TOO 😭
🙈
😂😂
I was literally doing my skincare routine over FaceTime with a friend and then this came up...they’re always watching
🤣
Awwww my FBI agent is a real one for putting this in my recommendeds 😊😊😊
I noticed that mine foams too but I thought it was due to not totally rinsing off all my cleanser
Me too omg I was always like wth I rinsed so many times
Me too!!!!
Me too! I started using a toner with a cotton pad after my cleanser so I make sure everything is off. It’s been fine ever since.
Same!!!!!
Nidhi Rudra I usually pat toner on my face too but still have foaming sometimes!!
I like how direct and to the point this was. Short and concise
Okay this is weird how did CZcams read my mind 😂
Fr I was thinking the same
Omg same 💪🏻
Same ! 🤣
Watch "The Social Dilemma" on Netflix and you'll know why..
I contacted Deciem and they said foaming does not affect the efficacy of the product.
Plz tell me how you contacted them plz tell me also as I want help from them

Omg Thankyou mine foams too I thought I was doing something wrong
And I tht I was the only one hahahaa, tht I bought a fake product form online seller.
Mine foamed and thought the one I got was fake, and by some magic this is on my suggestion! thanks this is very informative!
I just received it today in my mail and it foamed on my face, I didn’t even search for the reason but CZcams algorithm helped me out with your suggested video. Thanks!
thank you. this is so helpful! the foaming doesn't only happened to my niacinamide product but also to my other serum as well, i thought it was the product's fault, but after watching this video, i realized i was applying too much to the point that i had a break out. again, thank you, this is a skin saver!! ♡
Hey guys, just to let you know, my sister-in-law talked to some of the employees at Ulta, and apparently, the ordinary niacinamide and hyaluronic acid are their only products that aren't pure, so that's why only they peel. Hope this helps ❤
omg i thought i didnt fully wash off my cleanser
😂 same
😂😂metoo
Omg me too
😂😂😂
Meeee too
I feel like the concept of your channel is the same as that of the ordinary - straight forward and helpful!
in my experience, the foaming effect happen when i use it after an aha or a bha or when i rub it in my hand. i dot them on my face and pat it in
Same!
Pentagon of leader same here always after the aha bha peel
Melissa... i would like to thank you. I was sitting here w/ all these Ordinary products and absolutely no clue what to do. Thank you for helping me down the road to trying to take control of my skin❤
Glad it was helpful!
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Hi! Maybe you will consider doing some videos for men? I know for me personally it was very intimidating at first. I think you may be able to reach a new audience. Thanks once again. Be safe!
Hey😊well I love the idea and that you've shared your personal view on it! Thank you😊
But what exactly do you want to see? Since I'm not a man, I can't try out the products for men and then judge upon them - you know what I mean?
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Hi!😊 Thanks for the reply. You make a good point. I'll have to think about it. My comment was kind o f spur of the moment. I do know that when I first started looking for info it was a confusing, marketing filled mess, if that makes sense. Sorry I'm rambling but I'll think about it and get back with you. Take care and be safe.
Hello again! I was wondering if I could pick your brain concerning my "skincare routine." I put that in quotes because I'm kind of clueless whereas all this is concerned. A lil' background... I'm 51, with dry, sensitive skin. I have some sun damage and fine lines and wrinkles as well as large pores. I am currently using the following Ordinary products in the A.M. and P.M. in this order. The squalene cleanser, Hylamide SubQ eyes, Alpha Arbutin, Niacinamide w/ zinc, Buffet, Hylaronic acid, Natural moisturizing factors, and sunscreen during the day. I'm curious if I am using too much at one time and whether I have the application order correct. I want to incorporate something for my fine lines and wrinkles well. Any recommendations? Ok... now that I've taken up your time and written a book... i will let you go😉. Please take care and any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Be safe!
i bought 2 the ordinary niacinamide serums before and they never foamed even if i used too much product. my third bottle (newly bought) foamed earlier when i was doing my night routine and i freaked because i thought it was fake or expired! thank u sooo much for this video! i thought my heart was about to explode ....
Oh no😅 don't worry about it! :)
I also often feel that the niacinamide serum kind of rolls off the skin once dry like a layer of dirty dead skin. Am I the only one? I guess it's just from me using too much.

@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial oh wow you're got everything covered. Thank you!
Yes, and Buffett does that to me too.
Omg yes! I stopped using it because of that, I was worried my skin was reacting
Jessica Sebastião same... everyone adores it but my skin is just insanely peeling when I use it...
I’ve def been using way too much. I will use up one bottle in one month. I’ll try using less now 😂
same, I usually use 4-5 drop of it and rub it on my hand before on my face. That's why I always wonder why it foams. 😂😂
How long can it last? This one bottle
I’ve always just used however much the dropper gives me, now I’m wondering how much I’m wasting??
Ika Shah Jahan I think it can last up to 3 months if you use proper amount not too much
I got mine 2 weeks ago, and it’s halfway done😭😭 after watching this I realized I use way too much too😂😭
I only experienced foaming once end it's either because i used too much, or i still had some residue from my mask. I've been using lesser now and always made sure I cleaned my face properly before applying it. Foaming's never happened again.
How much do you use on your whole face? How much is too much?
@@sams517 i use around 5-6 drops for my whole face, that's one each for my forehead, nose, 2 cheeks and chin. Then i spread it out and massage it in until it becomes sticky which should take around 20 secs. Then I pat it in. Works every time.
@@jbaby283 do not over use products. Generally a pea size is used 3 to 4 drops this is thick so I would say 3 drops aka pea size. Thinner I would say 4 drops I apply all my skin care to my neck as well tap it in. Serums are 1oz for a reason because they a concentrated so it's meant to last months if using correctly.
@@jbaby283 gosh 5-6 drops is way too much
OMG i thought my product was fake because it was foaming and nobody talked about it!! thank youuuu
Finally... an answer to the question that kept me up at night 😭
I honestly just thought this product didn't work for me, it would foam a lot and felt sticky on my face for ages afterwards - never knew it may have something to do with how I was applying it, I started doing it like you and my skin has already improved so much from using the product property! Thanks for making this! Xx
It also happens to me with the lactic acid (I don’t use niacinamide), so thanks for the info!
Same
Thank you for this video! I’ve been using too much based on the amount of foaming I’m getting. 😔 I’m glad I saw this bc I don’t want to waste anymore product especially since there’s a wait list where I live! Thanks again.
I'm so glad I found this hahaha! I just started using it yesterday and it started foaming! I was so afraid something was wrong lol. Thank you CZcams for this recommendation
been using niacinamide wrong the past months and noticed i've been applying it wrong and that's why maybe i'm breaking out. thank u for sharing how to apply this one , surely going to try applying with this method the next week !
My FBI agent really lookin out for me today
I just got mine yesterday :) Girl can I just say YOU ARE SO PRETTY
Hope you like it! :)
Thank you😊
In my experience the foaming happens when I either use too much, or if my face is not completely dry before applying.

Omg thank you for this! I literally googled niacinamide foaming and your video popped up!
I currently use this product and it works very well on my skin.
Thank you for sharing the way to apply it with proper amount.
My pleasure 😊
Just used the product for the first time an hour ago thank god this video popped up :)
And i wonder if can apply my aloevera gel after using this serum? Because it becomes more watery when i apply it on my skin after using this serum. So im kinda scared if something bad will happend.
Here is a reply which I got from the Ordinary customer service:
"While we cannot comment on the compatibility of Aloe Vera with our products, we would recommend applying it in between serums and cream moisturizer. "
I hope this helps ;)
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial thank youuuu

How... did CZcams know I needed this video???
Do you apply this on your face while it’s still a bit wet from cleansing like the ordinary hyaluronic acid? Thanks!
Yes you can. But it makes no difference if you apply it on dry or damp skin. I explain it here :
Do I Need to Apply The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 on Wet/Damp Skin?
czcams.com/video/quG5_8cd-uA/video.html
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Thank you!
Thank you for this straightforward video. Much love!
Should my face be completely dry before applying this? Usually I wash my face then (when my face is still damp) apply it.
It does not matter, you are welcome to apply it on dry or damp skin.
Dry skin
@David Schönfeld Wichers that's very interesting many people on CZcams are claiming that it absorbs better on damp skin. But I couldn't find any reliable information. Do you have a source for this? If so, could you please share it? I want to do a video about it!
Sorry, I don't speak dutch, but I used Google translate 😆It's wrong ;) There is absolutely no difference. Most of the time, it's big magazines mentioning it with tons of affiliate links and no source. Also, if you listen/read carefully they always say that it "can" or it "maybe" etc. because they have no clue.
I have quite a few books at home because this topic is very interesting, but even those sources extremely vague. And it seems that not much research has been done. I assume that's why they use it..
Niacinamide: imgur.com/a/9KpWM3S
Hyaluronic Acid: imgur.com/a/Q0EDyVq
I think it's best to try it out for yourself. Also, it depends on your skin type. If you have oily skin, try using the Hylauronic Acid on dry skin works much better!
This happened to me YESTERDAY and I didn’t even google IT!!! and CZcams recommended it to me!!
Why did this pop up...I was thinking it in my brain not even saying it out loud
hahaha
I just finished using Niacinamide 10 minutes ago and I was shocked with the white cast, but I am more shocked with this video showing out of nowhere after what happened. 😰
I use it to control oil and pores tightening before sleeping and wash it off next morning. Tell me what should I use for oily sensitive skin and hyperpigmentation. I’ve heard Alpha Arbutin 2% one is good for hyperpigmentation?
Yess I have that it helps so much and I use Lactic acid with it and it works well 💕
What really helped my oily skin was the semi squalane oil at night it took about a month before my skin stopped producing so much oil
That product never worked for me. I reviewed it on my channel
Rosehip oil
rumesa Rumesa Imran vitamin c
I apply it to wet/pretty damp skin after cleansing! it won't foam and it spreads super easily, and it helps lock in the moisture!
Thanks for sharing!!
Me: Just a few drops because It’s sould out everywhere!
Melissa: rubs on the back of the hand for a tutorial. 🙃
🤣 It wasn't out of stock during that time. 🤪
Waaaaait it’s out of stock? Oof good I miss a few steps of my regime here and there
I don't know why, but this time CZcams algorithm finally work, this is so helpful for me. Also I was watching your feed and this is the type of things that I'm interested, great content! I already subscribe (:
Glad that I could help!🥰
I use this every day and I have never ever had foaming. I only use a minimum amount because I don't want to waste it... though you'd be surprised how many heart attacks I've nearly had from almost dropping it while it's open and somehow miraculously not spilling any. Anyway, I was using it morning and night, but I've decided to just used it in the morning so I can benefit from the oil control. I think my skin likes it just once a day so I don't want to use too much.
OMG THAT ACCENT I LOVE IT AAAAAA
Weirdd nothing ever happens with mine, it just feels smooth and normal
Same :(
Needed this video! Haven’t seen your channel or content before, but I subscribed because this was so in-depth and necessary lol. Also, random but you are a stunning human being. You are gorgeous!!
Hey!🥰 Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it a lot and thanks for joining😊
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED TO KNOW lmaooo i’ve only been using it for 2 days and it’s always foaming. I thought that i didn’t wash my cleanser properly. When in fact i’m just using it too much 😂. In the video she said that 2-3 drops are enough. But i’ve been putting 2-3 drops on each area of my face (forehead, cheeks, chin, neck) lmaooooo omg i’m so clueless.
Niacinamide BEFORE lotion. Good to know, thanks!
Yes :)
Thank you so much for this video, I was so worried, but now I know i just used wrong! Thank you for showing the right way!
Also, if you dont mind me asking, I am using the niacinamide, after that the caffeine solution under my eye and seal it with the ordinary moisturizer. Is that okay?
Again, thank you! 🥰
Here is some useful information from the Ordinary:
"The general rule of thumb for order of application is:
1. Water-based serums
2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations
3. Creams & suspensions
If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first). That being said, we recommend applying eye-serums (such as Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG) first after cleansing. "
So your order of application would be:
Caffeine Solution
Niacinamide
Moisturizer
Thank you so much
Thank you so much for this, now I know that I'm using too much, it's only been 5 days and I'm almost halfway to finishing it, didn't know it can last up to months
Glad I could help!😊
Samee i thought mine was fake im so scared to use it anymore haha

thank you so much for this video! I was really worried about the foaming and this helped a lot
CZcams algorithm was just too perfect right now 😂
This happened all of a sudden today and I washed my face from the sink and eventually just stepped in the shower and stood under neath the shower head to get this non-existent cleanser off my face. Thank you. I'm not crazy just wasted water
It’s the zinc. Obviously.
OMG THANKS I THOUGHT THE CLEANSER WAS STILL ON MY SKIN SO I KEPT WASHING IT OFF
Oh no!🙈
You know when you think something and a moment later it appears on internet? Well I started yesterday to use Niacinamide from The Ordinary and I noticed the foaming and surprised... AND BOOM this video answers my question HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I have started using their Hyaluronic acid serum and glucoside solution and it feels soapy when I rub it into my skin. I honestly was shocked!! But thanks to this video I know its normal!! Thank you so much I was so afraid that something might have happen to the products
When using too much the foam will be more noticeable but if you are using a bit less, it goes away pretty quick😊

Thank you omg- I just now applied it now and I panicked
Hey Girl...You are amazing...your video helped me alot and I have just found your channel and wow so much good information
Glad it was helpful!🥰
When applying product mix on your fingers and apply with your fingers. OR mix on palms and apply with palms. As you waste product if you're mixing it into your whole hand.
Hey. I have a different opinion, and I will record a short video. I think that there is not much of a difference.
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial it is only because in the video you mixed it into your palms then applied with fingers. So no product was on your face.
I also wondered why sometimes it foamed up :)
THIS LITERALLY HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE I WENT TO SCHOOL TODAY AND I DIDNT EVEN SEARCH OR ANYTHING AND THIS CAME UP. subscribing to your channel now 😌
Mine does this sometimes, I think it might be when I have a trace of some other product somewhere..
I just use mine before I go to bed though and so this doesn't bother me at all; because it works so well!
I also notice it foams more on wet/damp skin, so I like to wait for my skin to completely dry. Wet pores don’t absorb as much product.
I wondered I didn’t wash my face on a right way😁
Thank you 🙏 finally I found the reason 😍
You’re welcome 😊

I think I am using something wrong Bcz I got acne after using it . I use toner twice a week. Does all the these goes well or should I stop using it
Hey! :)
For how long do you use those products?
How much do you use of each product?
Also, do you use Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid once or twice per day, daily?
The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Serum foams as well
What if the foaming is in the bottle itself (both hyaluronic acid and caffeine solution) and the product drops go as small bubbles ans there is no product in the tube even though the bottle is full😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Hmm, it's likely just because someone shook it. So no need to worry about that :)
Happened the same to me. I stopped using it. Switched to Greek and Gorgeous niacinamide, way better and more hydrating.

It foams up beacuse of rubbing, surface tension of liquid is reduced and air mixes with it and it creates foam/bubbles. Just basic chemistry....
Hmm interesting. But why does it happen mainly with the Niacinamide and not with the Alpha Arbutin, Buffet, Hyaluronic Acid, etc 🤔?
But also that wasn't the point of this video 😉
