      Though I agree with most of your tier list and you make a lot of good points I highly disagree that Rattites are bottom tier. Humans, the most broken faction in the game, struggled in a war against emus, a member of the Rattites, even with their best weapons. Because of that I'd argue that the Rattites should atleast be ranked higher than geese (high B-tier)

      Watch TierZoo's Raptor Tier list. He goes in depth birds like Hawks, Eagles, Falcons, Owls, etc. Yes, owls are very good. However they have any glaring weaknesses. For one, unlike Hawks, and Eagles, Owls are forced to exclusively pray in animals far under it's own weight class, rodents, snakes, and insects for younger owls. If doesn't matter if an owl is silent if they're too weak to hurt a Falcon.
      Owls also have NO way to take down bats. Bats are a plentiful build that, if you can catch one, is a great source of EXP. However Owls CAN'T catch bats. Echolocation renders the Owl's silent flying useless.

    • @ConfidentMelon
      @ConfidentMelon Před 3 lety +5

      @@Ockto_ Owls are a natural predator of bats; the owl's *Silent Flight* ability allows it to alter turbulence and absorb sound enough to approach prey undetected.

    • @Ockto_
      @Ockto_ Před 3 lety +17

      @@ConfidentMelon I don't think you understand how echolocation works.... Bats make sounds that bounce off of solid surfaces, then bounce back to the bat. This gives the bad a full understanding of its surroundings at all times using sound. They use this to locate owls. An owl's silent flight is useless againced a bat because a bat would figure out the location of the owl from the sound bouncing of the owl relative to the bat.
      Also, obviously owls are natural born predators, but so are falcons. An owl could NEVER be fast enough to dodge a falcon who has built up speed. The only time an owl actually has change of beating a falcon if it's night time. However, owls can hit hard. Both falcons and owls have incredibly weak talons and beaks for mid flight combat. However falcons can bypass this issue by using itself as a living missile by flying at over 100mph.
      How would you react if a human the same size as you swooped in going 100mph right to your body?

    He explained very well that Vultures are mid-tier because they are successful scavengers, being one of the few animals that succeed being dedicated scavengers but have some flaws in their role as tank. Their thick feathers, large size and large group size means they are good at locking down a carcass from smaller scavengers but are bodied by larger carnivores and since their lifestyle can often bring them into contact with large predators it means it is an unavoidable hazard.

    "If it was about numbers, chickens should be a the top!"
    *Yeah, no.*
    It IS about numbers too because they're a good reflection how well a species is doing on a larger scale, but chickens don't really apply here because they've become domesticated and are therefore under the humans' protection, who pretty much have complete control over how many there are nowadays. If chickens lived in the wild like vultures, their numbers would shrink massively. Vultures are solid, but definitely not hightier. There's a reason they've opted to primarily feed on carcasses.
    Also, saying owls are just 'sit and wait predators' is a gross generalization.

    The whole falcon owl thing is more than likely based off of power and success rate..... just as tierzoo explained the falcon's speed prowess is very situational and can fail very easily, along with the fact that they cant recover the potential energy required very easily.... on the other hand owls have generally higher success rate because of their stealthy feathers and like you said yourself more power.... so in general it makes sense that he put owls higher than falcons due to the benefits of having a more stealthy power based play style than the hit and run esk play style of the falcons.
