- Lobst here! I had the nutty idea to replay TLoS:aNB specifically so I could get 720p video of all its cutscenes for a recap before we launch into The Eternal Night (which I'll be editing the first video for shortly). Some of the people who watched our Let's Play may have been disappointed that we talked over some of the more unenthusiastic lines of dialogue, so here it is: every dialogue-bearing cutscene in the game, stitched together Metroid: Other M-style.
I didn't include any scenes that panned over from ingame Spyro to a door opening/a new switch to flip/a bunch of baboons, because I wanted to emphasize just how small the amount of actual story there is in the second act: Five minutes per hour-long section of tedious, awful gameplay. This game pitches itself as a cinematic experience with name-actors, and is a chore to run through (especially in the final area, where the tactic of tossing enemies off cliffs with electricity isn't an option most of the time) -- how did VU/Krome assume people wouldn't be pissed off at it?
There's some visual stuttering in the FMV sequences, but that's the way it plays out ingame in the Xbox Originals version on 360. Anyway, here it is if you want it. "Enjoy!" - Hry

Man it just makes me happy that there are loads of Spyro fans that love The Legend of Spyro series I seriously though that I was the only one. In fact I stopped playing Spyro game after Enter the Dragonfly because it left such a bad impact on me. In fact A New Beginning was the next Spyro game I played. I first played it at my friend's house and after playing it for 30 minutes I had to buy it for myself. I just loved the combat, gameplay story, art style and the voice acting. Needless to say I was excited for the sequel.
+DashieSparkle Well, realistically, Enter the Dragonfly is accepted as the worst Spyro game in the classic series. Its best to get the original 3 or a Hero's Tail. I personally tho I love the LoS series and wish more people felt the same!

Well look at every single cover art for the Spyro ps2 games and it's easy to see it's the worst. All the others had epic effects and art style while Enter The Dragonfly is just Spyro's head with little detail. It's like the first in a series where the original is blank and very empty with no details while the sequel is zoomed out like it's more concentrated and complicated with more stuff going on and more details. It's how I always see sequels as the first like Assassins Creed is just the assassin with a plain white robe but the sequel has more stuff on him like they started coloring the canvas
I'm a Spyro fan too, I've played every Spyro game ever since the first one was released (Spyro the Dragon). when the Legend of Spyro was advertised I had to play it. when I found out Sparx talks I was blown away especially hearing David Spade's voice come out of Sparx.

I finished the game on PS2 countless times and it got so old that I brought it to gamestop to get like $3 outta it. My parents bought the game for my birthday and it's the only time I ever sold a game given to me like that, lmao. This video sure brought back memories, but idk if I'd play this game again. It was too easy. After you finished the game the first time, you unlock all the abilities and can complete all the tasks with ease.

I beat this game yesterday, & I gotta say, I really have no idea why so many people hate The Legend of Spyro. The gameplay is fun, the story's great, & the voice acting is perfect.
Yeah, his design might not be the same as Insomniac's Spyro, but it's still not bad.

Most of people grew up with it,including me and now they are basically forgotten,Spyro had some sequel or whatever at skylanders which I dont like cause all of his games are getting worse. The last good Spyro game was Year of the dragon (ps1).

I don't care what anyone says about these games! Spyro is my life! I love the three Legend games just as much as I love the original. The story is so deep and captivating, graphics are extremely beautiful, especially in Dawn of the Dragon, the music is so heavenly to listen to, the controls are as tight and responsive as a game should be, While not too frustrating, the challenge is well set with the gameplay and the voice acting is some of the best I've ever heard in any game ever. These are all aspects I've expect from any good game. I'm not going on a limb to say that the trilogy is better than the original but you do have to admit that there's a lot to these games that people don't give them credit for.

for my part, i currently finished both a new beggining and eternal night on GBA releases on emulator, and i must say, the eternal night release is more polished than the A new beggining release, i think the second release is the one i like most, depiste of the difficulty peaks, doing combos was one of the aspects i like the most, you wouldn't beleive me but i manage to do a 24 hit combo by mistake, 'twas impressive

I really Like how they gave Spyro that rise up on hindlegs to see furter thing. I dunno what it is but I love the art style of this game, Like Ignitus has such a sweet looking face and then he opens his mouth and WHOOSH flame city and I'm like oh right he's a dragon he can do that. I also really like how they had the whole different elements thing and the Purple dragon being marked as 'the super special rare" because it does all of them and the elder dragons aren't just rescue collectables, they actually do things, watching Ignitus Kicking those guys asses is epic. they put so much thought into the world building and it makes me so sad that these games get so much flack because they "aren't like the origional ones".
and Lil Voice actor fun facto, the Guy that Voices Volteer is the same Guy the Voices Count Dooku from Starwars the Clone wars and Yen Sid from Kingdom Hearts. so hows that for whiplash.

Trust me, you won't see a remake in a *really* long time since the graphics are pretty decent for a game like that... no one will see Dawn of the Dragon remake in a extremely long time since its graphics looks too good to have a remake, but a new beginning and the eternal night might be more possible.

God I love the relationship between him and Spyro
They should do a revamp of the whole series. Keep the main storyline but do better animation and take out some of the really corny stuff that happens and stuff like weird hesitations in dialogue. I'd buy that for sure. The only skylander game I bought was the first one and I sure as hell didn't finish it. Personally I enjoyed the Legend of Spyro series much more and I actually made it to the end of the games.

+BamN R3APER i don't know, the gameplay felt repetitive at times, i like the story and even the idea of Spyro being a teenager instead of a kid but i don't know if i'd consider it to be the best Spyro game. maybe the best spyro story but in terms of gameplay it just felt like God Of War minus the blood, brief nudity and over the top sounding main character. in terms of standalone console spyro games i like all of them equally except for Skylander and Enter The Dragonfly

I just Loved Cree Summer's job as the voice of Cynder, and I hope that she can reprise that role in some future Spyro installment at some point.

I still have this old Spyro the new beginning disc in my old dvd boxes, that time I used to it to hide from my mom, because she would've throw it away, when we moved away, until that day I lost my playstation 2. 😂🥺💖 My childhood memories when I was about 6 or 7. I think I still have other Spyro game, the one adult Spyro and Cinder. Seroiusly, this is the one best of Spyro's story.

How bout this though, what if they remade spyro the dragon, but kept spyro's a new beginning look, and rehired elijah wood to voice him?
+Gamer16 I would TOTALLY be fine with that - some of the cutscenes from the third game looked gorgeous, made me think of all the CG cinematics from Square games or MOBAs or MMOs that always made me want to play them (I think Square's were the only ones that were compelling enough to actually sell games to me this way). But yeah, if it kept the look of the new-school stuff and had the mechanics and feel of the old stuff, you've got a perfect Spyro game.
If Insomniac got hold of the series again, I'd love to see them do what they're doing now with Ratchet and Clank, the whole "reboot" thing. Doesn't necessarily need a movie, but I really liked the characters they introduced in the old games, and seeing them absent in Legend of Spyro, not to mention what they did to poor Sparx, was a real turnoff, too. Bringing back the side characters in a reboot would really give me that nostalgia trip - a Spyro game after Ripto's rage that didn't have Moneybags, Zoey or Hunter just doesn't feel quite like a Spyro game.

Once I've finished sifting through the Eternal Night footage I've recorded, I'm certain I'll compile another Theater Mode for it. (Fair warning, though -- I might have to replace the credits song for that as well as Dawn Of The Dragon, since the artists that recorded those tend to have CZcams mute the videos that feature their work.)

Immanuel Weaver I probably don’t hold much ground cause I only played the first game for a bit, but I can understand why you like him.
His character works in a lot of situations.
His comedy is unforced in many situations with the exception of a decent few reference situations.
The biggest issue is the fact that he is sometimes just emotionless even in dire moments which is not good for a character.
It breaks immersion and dampens the character’s enjoyability.
He is sarcastic, I love it, but sometimes it goes too far is what I’m trying to say, and David Spade AND the writers needed to make him more relatable as a person to complement the fact that he can feel emotion, like a human being.
Ps: I know he’s not human but that’s not the point.
D: Why couldn't David Spade keep playing as Sparx...? I hate that his voice actor kept changing throughout the games? Cynder too. But I was more irritated with Sparx constantly changing.
With Cynder I can understand. After all, when she was corrupted I can see the reason for her deeper voice, and then I can see how her voice might have changed once she was returned to normal. In the final game, after being frozen for three years, I can see how her voice changed through that. It makes a lot of sense if you think about it. But I didn't care, because I love Cynder more than any of the Spyro characters (even more than Spyro himself). I loved how beautiful Cynder was in the last game.

Spyro: A New Beginning
Oh wow... I remeber playing this on Gamecube, playing the snow level, beeing scared of those creepy giants at the beginning, and failing SO OFTEN in the Dojo. But still, this game was my Childhood, and ill never forget this awesome game. I never played it 100% tho. Then my Mum gave the Gamecube to some beggars. Without Cables, just controllers, the cube and the games. I mean i was really sad but i said "hey someone can have fun with it as much as i had" but when i saw my mum forgot to give those (propably fake) beggars the cables i was very angry. She also gave those beggars my N64 Pikachu edition, also without cables. Im still so angry about it :(
