I have detailed instructions on the Garmin Edge 1030 (which also applies to many other Garmin Edge units) here: • Long and Detailed Garm...
This feature saved my day. I had created a route on my desktop computer using the Strava web site and forgot to download it to my Garmin Edge 1030 GPS. I got up to Bennington Vermont where the ride started and found out I hadn't downloaded the route to my GPS. I was kind of SOL at that point but a quick search on the web and I found how to download a Strava route to my Edge 1030 using my phone! I believe this will work with any Connect IQ capable Garmin Edge bike computer. Real life saver! Hope this helps you too! Thanks for watching.

Hello ! I accidentally removed the "strava routes" app from my Connect IQ on the GPS Edge.
Do you know how to take it back?
I don't find it on the Connect IQ applications.
    Thank you

Hi. I just brought a garmin edge explore . Do I have to pay to transfer routes from Strava to the garmin or is it all free. I believe you can also do it through the garmin connect app

follow his steps, i just bought the same one and did what he says and made it work. just mark the strava route as favorite and the app will automatically sync it when your computer is connected to your phone. Good luck.

@@DJWhity510 I could be wrong but I think you need to be a Strava premium member to create and download routes. You definitely need it to download other people's rides and follow them which I do a lot. However, you can create routes in connect.garmin.com and ridewithgps.com for free. Here's Strava's blurb on premium features: support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216917657-Strava-Subscription-Features

@@MTBIKEXC yes you do need the Strava premium which is £47.99 yearly, think there is a trial in which your not charged providing you cancel before renewal date. Looks good as you can choose routes others have done then upload them to the garmin, I haven’t really been out properly with it, are they very accurate

@@stevehayes8867 I do a lot of traveling and exploring and use Strava (especially their heat maps) to make up routes to ride. In Vermont, I used to use maps and would take class IV roads that would die out or go through someone's property but making up routes with Strava's heat map turned on has turned out to be the best way I've found to come up with rides - mountain bike and gravel. Check out this video I made: czcams.com/video/gKMw_-PkKOE/video.html

@@stevehayes8867 Oh - maybe you were asking if the GPS was accurate and yes, normally, very accurate. In the early days, there were considerably slower acquiring satellites and would lose satellites in dense tree cover but that's not longer a problem.

@@stevehayes8867 I use my Garmin for navigation a lot. I assume there's some way to follow routes on your phone and the screen would be larger but I definitely prefer using my Garmin.
