Petersfield Level Crossing

  • Two Class 450s both in Southwest Trains livery head into Petersfield station and onto Rowlands Castle, having both come from Liss. This crossing is still an MCB and has very old looking and working barriers. The lights are new, although as can be seen in the second clip, the amber lights aren't in sync and the lights restart once the crossing goes up. The extra light in the second clip is also not needed, as the road it faces is a good distance from the crossing. There is quite a problem with schoolchildren here apparently. In the half hour whilst I was there, there were two handbags on the track picked up by an orange man, a bike rider that failed a wheelie, two girls that nearly got hit by a bus, a skateboarding moron that fell on the footbridge, two children screaming at the train like they were being raped, and a heart shaped balloon floating off toward God. Petersfield is nice though (according to my father, as he was off getting a map from WHS whilst I filmed this)

Those alarms and barriers have seen better days. Never seen a skirt swing so much.
