- Brazilian music would probably not have developed as it did over the past decades years if not for Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, two of the country's most important musicians.
Now at age 72, they are still far from retiring and are setting off on their first tour together since 1994. Veloso and Gil performed Nine Out of Ten together for the BBC.

The Bob Dylan and John Lennon of Brazil. Sorry for that, but it’s true. I know no Portuguese, but these two men’s records are special to me. They’ve helped me get through some rough times. I respect their love for justice and for Mother Earth. They are great examples for those of us in 2020 living under near-fascistic leaders, in the US and Brazil.
