20-Minute Ballhandling Workout for Shiftiness 🔬

  • I think you'll find this workout pretty unique. The primary goals of the workout were (1) to develop confidence manipulating the ball, (2) getting the guys into the necessary positions to be shifty (3) breeding creativity, and (4) forcing them to react. Try this workout out, get a training partner, or just imagine someone giving you the cues!

    Front-to-back: 15 each hand
    Triple Cuff: 8 each way
    Ball Rolls: 10 each way *butt down, not chest down*
    Wide Ground Touches: 20 crosses, 20 between, 20 back
    "If you're tired after that drill, take a 15-second break so you're still able to go hard for the rest."
    Height/Speed Change Behinds: Half Court & Back Twice
    Height/Speed Change Snatch: Half Court & Back Twice *lean chest over knee to sell the drive*
    *100% SPEED* Rapid Betweens: Half Court & Backwards Betweens Back Twice
    same drill, reactive pace
    Reactionary Freestyle Drill Half Court 4 times total
    same drill, 5-6 cones
    optional 1v1 to end

    Workout Outline if anyone wants it: Stationary warmup:
    - Lateral cuffs 15x
    - Front/back cuffs 15x
    - Triple cuffs (in/out, around leg, around body) 8x each
    - Ball rolls 10x
    - Wide ground touches (crosses, between, behind) 20x each
    Dynamic:
    - Height/speed change behinds (half and back 2x)
    - Height/speed change snatch (half and back twice)
    - Rapid between (half and back twice)
    Reactive:
    - front/back (half and back 2x)
    - Freestyle>explode direction pointed
    - Go to cones drill (5/6 cones)

    do those drills for %10 and plays 1s for 90% . You'll get your handle where you want a lot faster by playing vs live defense.
