33:19 was so relatable, it’s so important to know that you don’t have to wear makeup or have nice clothes bcs everyone is too busy on themselves. I’ve had that mindset from a young age (probably bcs my mum doesn’t wear makeup so I never had access to it) and bcs of that I’m so much more secure than my friends who started wearing mascara and highlight at 12 ily ally❤❤

When I was younger I definitely believed that 'right person, wrong time' was a real thing - I was in a couple of situationships that felt so right but didn't work due to timing (eg I met a guy 3 days before I moved to a different country!). But now I'm older (29) and married to my favourite person, I believe that if the time is wrong, that means the person is wrong too. You can't live your life hoping something will come back around, or wishing things had been different - all you have is now and you have to find the person that's right for you NOW.

As someone who suffered two nervous breakdowns in life I totally understand the constant panic attacks and the cycle you get in where you don't go out because you're scared of having a panic attack but then you find it harder and harder to leave the house. I always think of Remus Lupin who says what you fear is fear itself. My friends didn't understand exactly what I was going through but they always said I could drive so I felt in control and could leave a place whenever I wanted. As you said just having the option helped

Thank you for your vulnerability. Last January, my anxiety was so bad that I developed agoraphobia. I was house-bound for a couple of months and it was horrible. I found an incredible online therapist, got on that Diazepam (as needed), and started exposure therapy. I did what scared me over and over and over again. I now have a full-time job, I can drive (mostly) without anxiety, and I am finally feeling healing take place. This level of anxiety has been the most isolating and horrible experience of my life, but I wouldn't have been able to recover from it all without therapy and medication. There is nothing wrong with getting help. Help is our only way to healing and freedom and happiness

I appreciated you talking about being a late bloomer. I consider myself to be a late bloomer and I struggle with comparing myself to other girls my age or girls I grew up with.
I also appreciated you mentioning being a fan of Hannah Montana, Mary-Kate and Ashley, and Lizzie McGuire. It’s nice to know that there are other people who were and still are fans of them, at the age I was when I was really into them and a lot obsessed I was embarrassed to talk about them because it seemed like any time they were mentioned people who be only mocking them or making fun of them. So thank you for sharing that you like them too.
Hearing you say you toughed out depression but chose medication for anxiety makes me feel so much better because I did the same. And I felt like “if I could cope with depression, why can’t I cope with anxiety?” But you’re right, they are so different and you just can’t get out of anxiety. So thanks for that 🩷
love all the points your making, and so much wisdom. I especially love to hear 'everyone's on their own timeline'. It is so true. That 'comparison' factor is definitely something I would have experienced in my teens. Then in my early 20s when I was more of the mindset that we each have our own timeline and grow at different speeds, projections would be put on me that I should be a certain way and sometimes I would be convinced that I was wrong, which isn't helpful. I am a bit of a people pleaser, so still struggle with this sometimes, but for the most part I know myself and know what's true. Gone on a bit of a ramble, but hope I'm making sense. Life is a journey, essentially, and we only see through our own eyes.

What you said about not thinking you were cool, I relate so much. I loved all the things you mentioned but used to be too ashamed to tell anyone since some people looked down on that stuff. But now (and since finding your channel) I'm not afraid to shout from the rooftops about how much I love those things lol

On the topic of “right person, wrong time” I definitely think that is a real thing and it both can be that they were the right person but everything got in the way and one day it will happen, but also it can be that they were the right person if x, y, z, didn’t happen and change the course of your life. Guys and girls and totally be friends, it just depends on your temperament so it won’t work for everyone. I’ve had a number of really good guy friends and only one ever had a crush on me and dissolved our friendship from that.

Thank you for talking about your anxiety. Your experience is really similar to mine. I had the worst 2 years since the pandemic and I feel stuck in my own brain like a prisoner. I am alway nervous, always anxious. Will check the exercises you mentioned.
firstly you painted your nails exactly how I did for my bi pride themed birthday party this year and I love it!
secondly you're so right about getting your time after a break up. I personally unfollow, or even block people to get over them. and it works! after that, I seek the person if I want to be friends with them (I usually do). also my ex-bf and I made a birthday party together this year and we live in harmony. it is so possible to be friends with a person you've been with as much as a person you've never been with no matter their gender or anything (talking about whether girls and boys can be friends as well)

To the people in the comments who haven't dated, kissed etc I'm 30 & haven't dated as an adult. I had like small relationships at like 15 & 16 but tbh they weren't really anything big I never went to same school as the guys so we barely saw each other & mainly only talked on msn. I legit got broken up with bc I didn't want to have sex which I felt so bad about at 16 but I'm glad I didn't get the pressure to do it. I really can't be bothered going out & dating tbh but if you want to I'm sure you'll find someone. You aren't late in life it's just been this stereotype of life that you need to do certain things at a certain age but you don't.

Right person wrong time is definitely a thing. My current partner and I knew each other for 8 years before getting together. I liked him but he was in a relationship, then he started to like me but I was in a relationship. Finally after 8 years of knowing each other the time was right, we got together and almost 9 years later we're still together

I used to be absolutely CONVINCED that hetero men and hetero women could not be truly friends, but that is because I sadly grew up in a community that really objectifies women and I didn't feel valued as a human being by my male peers. I now believe that men and women can be friends, but I also know that men and women have been socialised very differently. For example, women are taught that it's ok to express their feelings more openly and female friendships are much more celebrated. I find that my male friends are definitely relying a lot more on their romantic partners then a lot more than women do. So in my experience, friendship with men is definitely a lot different than with other women and so I can see why a lot of people would think that friendship between men and women is not really a thing.

been waiting to watch this when I had a full 40 minutes free, but now I can’t wait anymore haha
my anxiety has definitely gotten a lot worse since COVID/lockdown. Especially my social anxiety. I used to be able to go out and do everything and anything. But now it's so much of an ordeal. For example, I still buy tickets to concerts because I want to go and I know it will be fun. But then weeks leading up to it I am so worried. When I go out, I get so overwhelmed by the amount of people, and how loud it is and feeling very claustrophobic. When I feel this way, my body responds by making me have to go to the bathroom to "pee" heaps (more to escape), making me feel nauseous, sometimes even actually sick. That's why I tend not eat a lot when I'm out cause I know I can feel sick regardless, but I don't want to eat the wrong thing or upset my stomach and make it more likely to happen. Now its easier when I am in a big group of people that I know all going to the same thing cause I feel like the focus isn't all on me. When it's just me and another person, I feel like there's more pressure on me to not "ruin" the night for the other person. I also feel better if I've been to that place before so I know what to expect and I know where to go and I know where the bathrooms are and where I can go to "escape" I guess. I've gone to two concerts recently and they've been okay and I've been able to get myself through it without feeling overly anxious. I've found it easier to also voice how im feeling to the people around me and tell them what I am worried about happening and then most of the time it doesn't. It's like as soon as I say it out loud its like off my chest in a way. It's something that still worries me and that I hope improves with time.. but for now I just try my best to enjoy myself and roll with the punches if they arise.

YES, ys and yes. I lost mine to my current boyfriend (and he lost his to me) and even if god forbid we broke up, I know I wouldn't regret it because of how much trust we put into one another. Virginity really is a concept but innocence is not and I did feel a part of me changing once it happened. It was like I was wearing a new pair of glasses. It's a brand new experience.

I relate a lot to the part about finding someone. It just comes so easy for all my friends, and I feel like I can never find the right person. It adds a lot to my self doubt, and I know I’ll find someone eventually, but it just sucks atm.

..I have MS, and a few months ago I couldn’t push the lawn mower, and I failed my minuscule strength test at my neuro appointment. Now?! I can easily mow the lawns, and not take breaks, be tired or pain, and I’m certain I would flatten my neuro. 😬

My first relationship happened when I was 22. I cried a lot when I broke up with my most recent boyfriend. I hated him at first then I was just indifferent
Hey! Just wanted to drop a note to say that I truly do believe you can meet the right person at the wrong time. Back in 2010, I was working at an Outdoor Activity Camp here in the U.K. & met a guy who I instantly connected with. We had the most beautiful, intense, magical year together; the best year of my life so far for sure. He was actually from a different country and had to go home when the season ended. I went out to him for a few weeks to try & figure out how we could make it work, but with the distance and the timing it was just very complicated. He didn’t think he could do it & whilst I was absolutely devastated back then, I can see now that he was right. We didn’t speak for 5-years and then one day I received an e-mail from him and we’ve kept in touch ever since. I don’t know that we will ever be together again but I do know that I have never loved in the same way since. We struggle to even communicate these days (his English isn’t as good as it once was & I don’t speak a word of his language) but there is an understanding there that we care for one another deeply and always will. 💕✨
