I am a Swiftie who came late to the party. I first loved 1989 and then fell hard with Folklore and Evermore. Have been working my way back through each album for 2 years now and have fallen soooo hard for country Taylor. Speak Now is to die for, completely agree. New to the channel here, and already loving it!
Re-recordings or new albums would both be really cool to me, but there's one really amazing part about the re-recorded albums: I'm a teenager, and so a relatively new swiftie, so the re-recordings let me ALMOST experience all that I missed when the albums were first released: the hype, the theories, and all! I had never heard of her when I was younger (I'm Indian) and was only introduced to Taylor by a cousin sister who lived in the US (will be eternally grateful to her for that lol), so there's a lot that I missed out on. I don't have many connections or memories of her old songs, so it feels precious to have a second chance to make them! I also get to talk about the old songs when everybody else is too, and not when everything to say has already been said and all theories have already been discussed, which is what it sometimes feels like to search up stuff about older songs (in general)!
This is why I love the re-recordings so much, that new fans get to experience what we did back then!
100% want the re-records before new music! I feel like if she releases a new album, it will either overshadow or be overshadowed by the re-records and I personally want every album to have their moment. I think she's riding some great momentum with the re-records and could use that to eventually build up to releasing TS10 after they're all released as like a grand finale type of thing. Plus vault tracks give us new music anyways, and I'm very content at the moment with the re-records + vault tracks.

Personally I like to think Tis the damn season is from the point of view of Dorothea and that seven is about the narrators' relationship as children. I also like how in Wildest Dreams (1989 track 9) she rides away in a car at the end of the music video and reputation's track 9 is Getaway Car.
my first ever concert was taylor swifts red tour (so naturally that album is special to me) and i’m getting to go see her for the first time again this year !! (10 years later) so as a long term swiftie certain albums have grown on me more or been more impactful based on how old i was when they came out.

As for the album covers, I cannot BELIEVE you dislike the 1989 one. My personal ranking would be: 1989 - folklore - rep - evermore - red - lover - red tv - speak now - fearless tv - fearless - debut
I love her country albums but the covers, especially compared to her later ones, seem too studio/magazine/edited photoshoot for my taste.
Also, I AGREE with the easter eggs. Mostly because many times the clues fans find seem too convoluted to make sense. Adding dates and song lengths? Too much even for her. She literally wrote “Lover” in big freaking letters in the ME! music video lmao that’s not subtle at all.
And finally (sorry for the long comment) she definitely edited ATWTMV. There are original lyrics on the Lover journals that didn’t make it to the final version (I can’t believe she scrapped “There we are again when you blew the candle out, took this blazing love, steered it right into the ground”)

Yes! Finally someone said the same thing as me re: the Champagne Problems lyric. I think she's saying we'll never say "our" again, as in "our group of friends" and it links back to We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together "you go talk to YOUR friends, talk to MY friends" and Last Kiss "keep up with our old friends". This whole concept as friends being this emblem of your relationship status, another reminder of how it was and how it is now. Genius lyrics.

about the editing of atw10: i do think it has been polished and put together, since tay herself has said that it was just a ramble, + we've seen in the lover diaries there were lyrics written that weren't even on the version we got.
however - the "fuck the patriarchy" line doesn't need to undergo the scrutiny of was-it-a-common-phrase-back-then because neither taylor nor jake said the line. "fuck the patriarchy" was written on jake's keychain: and you were tossin' me the car keys/ "fuck the patriarchy" keychain on the ground
basically, jake paraded feminism, even having a keychain with "fuck the patriarchy" written on it. then he threw her the keys as if to say "fine, fuck the patriarchy. you drive then, feminist, if you're so into role reversal."

I always interpreted the "how evergreen our group of friends, don't think we'll say that word agian" as her saying we won't say our group of friends agian because they won't be "our" friends they will either be your friends or my friends because in a breakup everyone chooses sides and it's no longer our friends or our things it's mine and yours if that makes sense
