Top 10 Fastest High Speed Trains in the World

- This video presents a guide of the 10 fastest high speed trains in the world.
Since decades ago, Asian and European countries have been competing to achieve the best high speed networks 🚊 in the world. Although first introduced in Japan, high-speed rail was truly established in Europe during the 80's and 90's and it continued to grow ever since. Recently, technological advancements have pushed Asian countries (especially China 🇨🇳) back to the top of the table, now overtaking Europe in all the important aspects: number of people using high-speed network 🛤, price per kilometer 💵 as well as operating and top speeds.
The big outsider of this top remains America, which mainly focuses on air travel, but has recently signed a contract for the first project of high speed rail and will classify in future rankings. And since talking about outsiders, there's also a surprise 🎁 entry into this top.
Enjoy the video and be ready for the high-speed revolution.
Here is the list of trains included in this video:

Japanese N700 series Shinkansen are also tied with Thalys at 300 km/h (186 mph).
H5 Series is currently running at 320 km/h, along with related E5 and E6 Series, only between Utsunomiya and Morioka section on Tohoku Shinkansen.
360 km/h is currently under R&D at JR East, because Japan has strict noise standards.
H5 Series Shinkansen is the same train as E5 Series Shinkansen, but with different ownerships and color stripe. E5 (pink stripe) is owned by JR East (East Japan Railway Company) and H5 (purple stripe) is owned by JR Hokkaido (Hokkaido Railway Company). Both of them are commonly coupled with red E6 Series (Komachi) running on Tohoku Shinkansen at 320 km/h between Tokyo and Morioka. After Morioka Station, E5/H5 continues on the dedicated Shinkansen line towards Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto and E6 turns left to the re-gauged line converted from former narrow gauge line, running at maximum of 130 km/h and stops only at major stations on the line (like a limited express train) towards Akita.

The TGV from France reached 574 km/h on a test run a long time ago. And this is a train on normal steel train roads and steel wheels. This is the number 1.
Number 2 *
@@tommeunier9333 what train is faster than this world record? Why the TGV is the #1 fastest train is because it’s steel wheels on a steel railroad. It’s very difficult for any steel on steel train to get traction in the first place, let alone accelerating to a speed of 574 km/h. Yes, magnet rail system trains achieve higher speeds (subtle increase), around 600 km/h but they use a whole different system to travel on in the first place. For such a train it’s easier to reach this high speed and has less risks to deal with (like getting off the railroad and crashing what potentially can happen with trains on steel railroads). I cannot come up with another steel to steel train that surpasses the TGV world record. If there is actually one (not a magnetic rail system based train) I would like to hear that to see if it’s a world record conducted by professionals with real footage and evidence that it’s been defined as a world record, just like the TGV I’ve mentioned.
@@tommeunier9333 The TGV is the fastest train on normal railroad
fastest passenger trains are in china @431km the rest r for testing
@@SamsungLe-vz2uy That’s fast! True about the testing. The 574 km/h from the TGV was an one time test run to see what the train could be pushed to. In France, they don’t go above 320 km/h.

If the L0 actually can manage Tokyo to Osaka in 1hr7mn that's a massive improvement. The current trains take almost 4hr for that trip. If the ticket prices are reasonable it could mean that all points between Tokyo and Osaka become potential "day trip" locations for people who otherwise wouldn't consider it. It has the potential to be a really good thing for the economy on either end. It may even help tourism overall. Foreign visitors to Tokyo who might otherwise not see Osaka could do so, and vice versa. These kinds of super-low travel times across countries like Japan are great since there's really a lot to see.
It actually takes 3.5hrs between Tokyo and Osaka, not 4hrs.
The Tokaido Shinkansen really only takes 2 hours 30 minutes.
Great video I love showing everyone In my family
The first Maglev stations are just about to open in Tokyo and Nagoya. All infrastructure is basically ready! Signs informing as well!
Tickets are expected to be pricey, more expensive than for the regular Shinkansen, which offers amazing quality service anyway - as though you were sitting on the quiet plane! For sightseeing, watching the Fuji Mount behind the windows, canyons, valleys, Japanese Alps, is absolutely thrilling... It`s really worthy... Ganbatte! An interesting point - Test Shinkansen trains n700s series, were tested and ran at the speed of 460km/h, but Japanese Authorities considered this unnecessary and unsafe ... :)
The current world speed record for a commercial train on steel wheels is held by the French TGV at 574.8 km/h (357.2 mph), achieved on 3 April 2007 on the new LGV Est.
Shinkansen 603 km/h in 2020
Incorrect ! It was a world speed record for a railed vehicle at the time, but it was a test version of the ongoing TGV designs. In addition the voltage in the overhead wire was significantly increased for this test train. Normal commercial units could not traverse that line until the voltage had been reset to the normal 25,000v.
@@JamesSmith-mv9fp Records are never set in commercial conditions. 574,8 km/h remains the world record for trains running on "classic" rails. The French TGV is also the train on rails with the highest commercial speed.
Train is open
@@pogodanaprzygode Shinkansen is a maglev, not a train. Well in fact it depend on the definition. Go on the french wikipedia page of train, it says that a train need to have wheels. Go on th english one, it is not mentioned. My opinion is that it is a meens of transportation really cool, but not a train. Maybe i think that because then my country would'nt have the top speed record ;(

the TGV reached its speed record in 2007 doing 574 kmh
tgv did that on test track. chinese crh380a did 486.1kmh on real track. actually there's no need for trains to exceed 400 kmh.
@@ghostofsolomon237 not at all, the railway track is used for commercial purposes. The only modification made on the line is a higher voltage in the catenaries and they were more taut. They stopped accelerating when the train started shaking too much to ensure passenger safety

I love all this train !
In Europe, when trains started running in the early XIX century (1800s) there was a limit of 14km hour maximum speed. It was thought that greater speeds could cause fainting or severe illnesses to the passengers.
So???
You will feel the g force when accelerating. I have tried the shanghai train before and they accelerate very slowing( very little g force felt), yet the fastest and even one of the steadies. So I don't think people will have nausea or fainting
that is what old tech did

The world record for speed of a classical train on rail is 572 km/hr and it is the French TGV. The TGV is also crusing on large portions of the French rail network at 320 km/h in commercial speeds which is faster than most Chinese (gaotie) or Japanese ( Shinkansen) trains. This less than mediocre video does not even mention the TGV which was the first train to cruise to 300+ km/h on commercial speeds in the 90's.

If you are wondering why the Japanese trains use that strange looking pointed front end, it is to reduce the airborne shock wave when entering or leaving tunnels at high speed. Japanese tunnels tend to be only slightly larger than the train itself, making the shock wave issue pretty serious.
Ijjjkiokjji
that I believe, but I was also thinking aerodynamics, as in planes, esp. Concorde.
The last train at the end of the video could literally obliterate anything on its way with such speed! Damn that's scary but cool!
The track is about 15 - 20 meters high from the ground and maintenance vehicle run every morning.

Surprised not to see the JR700. It hits 176mph with a max of 198. May not match the likes of the Maglev in Shanghai, but the JR700 makes up for it with its efficiency.
