he's from the US although his mom is Venezuelan, but he actually lived in Brazil for a time so... that's more likely to be the source for his inspiration in this vid i bet

im here to inform you that fred and maya made their own show called forever. its on amazon prime and its a really nice and moving story.
I just love that fact that Fred Armisen really is playing a simple Bossa Nova in this sketch and it sounds great. They didn't have to really play it but it's cool.

The song is called "Voce tem". It was written (for this sketch) by Fred Armisen. The independent record label "Drag City" released the full version in 2014, as part of a series of 7-inches, featuring songs by some of the musician characters Armisen portrayed on SNL. "Voce tem" is performed by the "Brazilian bossa wonder twins" Paulinho e Beatriz (Armisen and Maya Rudolph).

He briefly lived in Brazil as a child. That's when you get a chance to really learn those phonemes. In any case, very impressive!

This singer's brazilian accent is SO PERFECT, and he emulates bossa nova singers postures so well, with their 'slightly sad introvert' instances, it took me some seconds to realize this is the original SNL, not the brazilian version of SNL that existed some years ago.

1:38 After Alec says "do you know what they’re singing about?" on the live broadcast, the parrot on the bar made a very loud SCREECH which is why you see Maya and Fred nearly start to break at that moment. You can also see Alec turn his head toward the bar. When Alec walks over to Amy, you can see Jason staring at the parrot. They muted the bird sound when they posted the video on CZcams.

Muitos brasileiros dizendo aqui que Bossa Nova é chata... Foi o que sempre ouvi as pessoas falando a vida toda, ninguém ao meu redor suportava Bossa Nova. Pra uns, bom mesmo é música internacional, pra outros são as modinhas brasileiras... Até que saí do Brasil... ouvi Bossa Nova em todos os países que visitei: Europa, EUA... até na Rússia!!!! Vi na casa de italianos, decorando a estante espontaneamente, discos da Bossa Nova e MPB na voz de artistas italianos. Fiquei impressionado ao entrar nos cafés e lugares chiques e ouvir Bossa Nova várias vezes! Me enchia de orgulho de ser brasileiro. E meus amigos estrangeiros que estudam música conhecem o que do Brasil? Bossa Nova, é claro! Confesso que só saindo do Brasil eu fui prestar mais atenção e apreciar, a Bossa Nova é um dos estilos mais ouvidos do mundo, revolucionou a (boa) música brasileira, influenciou o Jazz nos EUA... Já dentro do Brasil, a ignorância e o mau gosto são coisas contagiosas. Consumir música de qualidade se compara a consumir literatura... não se pode esperar que um ignorante leia um clássico e saiba apreciar, exige um refinamento, uma mudança.
E só para acrescentar: não por acaso os mesmos que odeiam a bossa nova são os mesmos que amam bolsonaro. Como vemos a estupidez é contagiante. Alguma coincidência?

"Me impressiona que pessoas como você não sintam vergonha e tristeza pelo que fizeram com o nosso país"
Amigo, eu realmente sinto muita vergonha e tristeza pelo que fizeram com o nosso país. É de fato lastimável o que fizeram com o nosso país e olha que o estrago foi muito grande ein.. vamos então nos lembrar de alguns pontos porque se for listar realmente todo o prejuízo que causaram ao país, acredito que daria pra escrever um livro:
Uma auditoria feita em 2017 pelo Tribunal de Contas da União atribuiu ao ex-presidente Lula o prejuízo de R$ 1,3 bilhões na Petrobrás.
Ao sair do governo, Dilma entregou a Petrobrás com um prejuízo de R$ 34 bilhões, com as ações da empresa tendo perdido 55,6% do valor. Nos últimos dois anos do governo da ex-presidente Dilma, a Petrobrás demitiu 170 mil funcionários.
O rombo nos fundos de pensão de empresas controladas pelo governo petista foi de R$ 47 bilhões, a serem cobertos pelos funcionários dessas estatais.
Em seus últimos anos de governo, Dilma cortou 40% nas verbas do Ministério da Educação, o que gerou em 2015 o colapso das universidades públicas. Nada menos do que 48 das 63 universidades federais interromperam suas atividades por falta de pagamento de salários e até por falta de condições de uso.
Durante os governos Dilma, foram desativados 23,5 mil leitos do SUS, o equivalente a 7% do total. Cerca de R$ 3,2 bilhões deixaram de ser repassados aos estados e municípios para serem utilizados nessa área. Devido à recessão, quase 3 milhões de pessoas deixaram de utilizar planos de saúde privados por não terem como pagar.
Apenas em 2015, Dilma cortou quase R$ 12 bilhões do Ministério da Saúde.
Além das obras superfaturadas, a Olimpíada deixou um prejuízo de R$ 120 milhões em equipamentos como computadores e material de escritório, que tiveram de ir para o lixo porque simplesmente não tinham onde serem guardados nem procedimentos de reutilização e de venda regulamentados.
A Copa do Mundo rendeu ao governo brasileiro cerca de R$ 1 bilhão em pendências judiciais. O Maracanã chegou a ficar desativado por falta de manutenção.
Teve gente que ganhou muito, muito dinheiro com o PT..
O BNDES despejou R$ 1,2 trilhão de reais nas contas de grandes empresas, não por acaso, todas envolvidas nos esquemas de corrupção denunciados pela Lava Jato. Quase R$ 2 bilhões foram para grandes empresários comprarem jatinhos executivos com juros subsidiados.
Esse montante de R$ 1,2 trilhão foi 3 vezes maior do que o destinado a todos os programas sociais somados.
Cerca de 90% das medidas provisórias assinadas por Lula e Dilma eram vinculadas a pagamento de propina.
Cerca de 80% do lucro gerado pelo programa de acesso ao crédito iniciado por Lula e continuado por Dilma ficaram com os bancos privados.
Entre 2003 e 2015, foram descobertos R$ 4,6 bilhões desviados do INSS por meio de pensões fraudulentas, cerca de 28% dos cadastros.
Mais de 500 mil pessoas eram beneficiadas indevidamente pelo Bolsa Família. Apenas entre 2013 e 2014, Dilma pagou mais de R$ 2,5 bilhões para pessoas que não tinham dinheiro ao programa.
No programa Minha Casa Minha Vida, cerca de 1/3 dos beneficiados não preenchiam os quesitos do programa.
Dentre as 578 mil pessoas que receberam imóveis subsidiados pelo governo, estavam 1017 políticos, 62 mil empresários, 144 mil servidores públicos, 38 mil pessoas falecidas.
Em janeiro de 2016, Dilma sancionou o aumento de 163% dos recursos para o fundo partidário.
Durante os governos petistas, o MTST, recebeu R$ 89 milhões. A CUT, recebeu R$ 2,3 milhões, além do dinheiro que já tomava dos trabalhadores por meio do imposto sindical. Outras 40 entidades ligadas ao MST receberam, juntas, cerca de R$ 150 milhões. A UNE recebeu R$ 57 milhões.
As transferências de verba federal para ONGs, fundações, pastorais de igrejas e outros tipos de organizações civis foram de 4,1 bilhões em 2015. Mais de 3 mil ONGs dependiam do dinheiro do governo.
Durante os governos Lula, os bancos lucraram 9 vezes mais do que durante os governos FHC. Entre 2002 e 2010, os 9 maiores bancos brasileiros expandiram seus lucros em 550%. Apenas o Itaú/Unibanco, teve um lucro de R$ 23,35 bilhões em 2015 - o maior lucro anual de um banco registrado na história do país.
De todos os projetos que conseguiram patrocínios culturais, via Lei Rouanet, subsidiados pelo governo em 2014, 50% dos recursos ficaram com apenas 3% dos proponentes, não por acaso em benefício dos artistas que lideram a campanha contra o impeachment.
Das quinze empresas que mais apoiaram projetos pela Lei Rouanet em 2015, sete são estatais.
Dilma gastou mais de R$ 9 bilhões com publicidade em 4 anos.
Quando iniciou o segundo mandato, Dilma prometeu conter os gastos do governo extinguindo 3 mil cargos comissionados. Quando deixou o governo, havia extinguido apenas 346. Das 30 secretarias que prometeu extinguir, extinguiu apenas 7. Dos R$ 200 milhões em gastos não obrigatórios nos ministérios e secretarias que prometeu cortar, cortou apenas R$ 16 milhões.
Dilma não cumpriu sequer a promessa de cortar 10% de seu próprio salário e de seus ministros.
O TSE constatou que 1/3 dos gastos da campanha de 2014 de Dilma foi para 43 empresas de fachada, criadas especialmente para lavar dinheiro de propina. Ao todo, foram R$ 133 milhões para empresas que sequer tinham funcionários.
Enfim, como diz o ditado popular, o pior cego é aquele que não quer ver.
Vc podia ter resumido seu textão com 3 palavras bem curtinhas que todo mundo ia entender: "E O PT?!" Essa é a única estratégia que sobrou pra tentar acobertar os crimes do seu ditador de estimação. Só sobrou essa resposta, pq razão mesmo gado não têm. Leia de novo: quando escolheram estar do lado de alguém que defende a ditadura, já perderam TODA a razão. Estamos falando de uma seita, tirania, fanatismo... Se forem amigos próximos ou família, tolerem como se tolera um perturbado mental. Se forem apenas conhecidos, se afastem! Não existe diálogo com seitas ou doentes, esses devem ser curados e seitas devem ser derrubadas! Enquanto não saírem do poder e seus seguidores reduzidos a loucos inofensivos, continuaremos no caos.

Maya Rudolph's mom, the late-Minnie Ripperton, had an extraordinary five-octave vocal range. Minnie scored a Billboard #1 hit in 1975 with "Loving You."
Minnie Ripperton was one of the first celebrities to go public with a cancer diagnosis, and she was presented with the American Cancer Society's Courage Award by President Jimmy Carter. Minnie died of breast cancer on July 12, 1979, only two-weeks before Maya's seventh birthday.
You can tell Maya got some good singing genes. "Lovin' You" was a huge hit in Brazil in 1975. I'm and American who spent the year traveling throughout the interior of São Paulo state, staying in modest hotels (I was teaching Transcendental Meditation that year). "Lovin' You" would be playing incessantly by people in the hotel. Fortunately it is a great song, by the great Minnnie R. She had an affair with Stevie Wonder (so it is said) and, BTW, they both were Transcendental Meditation practitioners.
