    Nice set up. A RASA came up for sale recently but I like the idea of using a C6 or C8 with a hypertsar as you get 2 scopes in one.

    Good video. I have a very similar setup and love it. So glad to hear that the Buckeye bracket for the EAF works well. Don't know if you're game for it, but I'd love to see a video on installing the EAF to the 6-inch SCT.

    Evo C6 + HyperStar club here in Cincy (O-H…)! I have no patience for polar alignments or EQ mounts. Alt-Az… 15-20 seconds, *no problem at all* with f/2.

    I just found this channel I love it. I am in the process of trying to do this exact same set up. I I have a Celestron C6-A-XLT CG-5 6", and wondered if it is the same model as yours? I have heard some rumors that the hyperstar was not compatible was not compatible with some models. I was wondering if you could help me with that? Once again, thanks for a great video. Subbed.

      Thanks so much. Easiest way to check is just see if your secondary mirror is permanently in place or if the ring just unscrews. If it screws out then you’re good. You can also verify through celestron website. It doesn’t say fastar compatible anywhere on the scope so you do have to prod a little bit. All their newer c6 from the past 4/6 years are def ok.

    Really would love to learn why you gave up on the rasa and why u think the hyperstar will do better? Actually since this is 1y old, how was the experience? I’m in the fence between the two and thought the Rasa would be the clear winner as it has more aperture, and on my FOV testing in Stellarium, it fits my ambitions better, having a bit more reach to smaller targets but still wide enough to get bigger targets with nice framing, I also have a asi183mc pro

    • @easyastroimages5818
      @easyastroimages5818  Před rokem

      my rasa was agen1. there were a lot of issues with them. since then they have also had a few issues pop up on certain production runs but they did make some changes to the centering ring and maching to make it better. my reason for hyperstar was it was a little more forgiving and also way cheaper now. and also more resale easy then a rasa because both the scope and hyperstar usually have a market

    That setup looks great, I also have the c6 and I'm thinking on getting that hyperstar too, do you think the asi2600mc would work fine on it, or is it to big camera body and sensor? Thanks man.

    • @easyastroimages5818
      @easyastroimages5818  Před 2 lety

      i think it will come down to how much wonky corner you can deal with. it drove me nuts on the rasa9 because it was nearly impossible to compensate for it since there was no in travel for focus. i also had some bad corners even on the GT81. it can be solved but it will take a lot of effort. its a great camera but i ended up selling mine just so i could stick with something a little smaller and easier to tame. so in short i would not recommend that large of a sensor for this setup..plus the pixel scale would be way off for sampling. i wish zwo made a camera with a new gen sensor that fell between the 2600 and 533 sizes

      I can't answer your question, but I can say that I've really enjoyed the C6/Hyperstar combination!

    Can the non EdgeHD C8 perform the same with the hyperstar?

    • @easyastroimages5818
      @easyastroimages5818  Před 2 lety

      Yes sir. As long as it is fastar compatible meaning it has a removable secondary mirror.
