I see people aren't appreciating mahoraga and are only saying sukuna was having fun with him
Yeah it seemed like he was having but still a domain expansion is a final attack of any domain user and mahoraga pushed sukuna to use it because even sukuna knew without using it, the game would become so difficult and the reason behind this was mahoraga was adapting sukuna's technique and mahoraga wasn't stopping to attack sukuna at any cost
So sukuna played a strategy to defeat him, he used endless attacks of his domain plus a large fire attack which mahoraga can't handle because he can't adapt technique which kills him before adaptating so yeah mahoraga was going to die but before that he hid in the shadows
This thing shows how much of an ultimate beast mahoraga is

I think Yuji himself is the 20th finger and Gege made Yuji a sort of cursed womb with the finger. We know that Kenjaku definitely had the fingers at one point too. This explains Yujis superhuman abilities and being able to repress sukuna. I also think it's why Megumi had such a hard time tracking the finger in the first chapter because he was getting a signal from 2 fingers at once he even claims that it's like they're far and close from it and when megumi senses the finger on yuji it turns out to be just the box the finger was kept in but maybe it was yuji himself he sensed and didn't realize it
