The shop refused to pop the lenses out of my partner’s normal glasses and put them in her identical sunglasses frame telling her it would cost lots of money. This video helped me do it in under 60 seconds. Thank you.

You are a life saver. My right lens popped out. It took a bit of pressure but I reinserted it good as new. The frame is a lot more flexible than I thought and was worried I was going to break it

Oh thank god for this video I put soap on my lenses to stop them fogging up but it got between the lenses and they kept on randomly getting wet, now I can clean them thank you
Thanks for this tip. I struggled for quite a while trying to fix mine. However, my lens and frame are both quite thick so it was still too difficult, so I put the lens into the refrigerator and put the frame into a bowl of hot water for about five minutes then I was able to snap it back in place. Thanks again.

Thank you! My yaya (nanny or maid) was sleeping with glasses. I've been telling her for months to not sleep with it but she wouldn't listen. As she was sleeping with her glasses, a lens popped out, she was terrified. I went to CZcams and found this video, and gosh she was so grateful that I got to put the lens back.

Awesome, thanks ! I warmed up the plastic frame in hot (but not boiling) water for 2min and they popped right out. Then put the new ones like you demonstrated, it worked like a charm.
Thanks for the warm water tip... my plastic frames were not very flexible because it's below zero here today. Heating the frames fixed that!

Saved the day. Couldn't use favorite glasses for four months until I followed this. Didn't work until I fully removed the lense and reinserted. Because of covid I didn't want to go to the shop.
9 years later.... this just worked perfectly for my plastic framed reading glasses. my eyes are different prescriptions so i have to use a different magnifications for each eye. thank you !

Thank you very much! Just dropped and then stood on my glasses by mistake and popped out one of the lenses. Thanks to this video I've just got it back in again. So glad I didn't break my glasses when I stood on them. I've only two pairs and in the middle of Level 5 lockdown here in Ireland I'd be scuppered trying to get an appointment and attend it safely.

TY for sharing this! I have been trying to modify a pair of reader glasses and the lenses wouldn't come out on the stronger strength set. It took a few treis but once i figured it out, your trick worked pretty well!

Many thanks, I broke my expensive prescription frames last month. So purchase a similar shaped glasses frames. After view I was able to me varifocals into my new frames. Yay.
That was done very well. Just a note. We still have glass lenses and I wouldn't suggest popping a glass lens into a metal frame that way.

Work just like you said- used the counter for leverage - needed more than a little pressure- but it worked

I was struggling with this, too. But with plastic lenses (polycarbonate), when I pushed down on the part of the lens closest to the nose and pushed up in the middle of the lens, they bend enough to get the nose part in. With the two outside edges seated, the middle easily is seated with light pressure.
Seems like the frames are going to be more fragile than the lenses. So it makes sense that you can bend the lens a bit with less chance of that breaking than your frames. Not sure if this would work on glass lenses.

YOOOOOOOO THIS SHIT IS REVOLUTIONARY knocked my glasses off in the bathroom and the lens but luckily I decided to try to and fix it on my own this time, or at least see if I could pop it back in or not and this video saved my ass from a bombardment of disbelief from my dad. Thanks so much!

In the video you quickly popped out the lens at the temporal edge, whereas you suggest popping it in at the nose edge. So, what is the correct way to *remove* the lenses from a one-piece plastic frame?

After he says we need to use a screwdriver, he's putting the lens back in without ever showing actually using the screwdriver to loosen up the frame.

So cool! Thanx man! Gotta have that screwdriver outta those eyeglass repair kits. 2 different screws that take the different screwdriver heads, one flathead and one phillips, the kit should come with both. I backed the screw out too much and the frame came apart, had to put it back together, fortunately all worked out. :)

Solid video. Thanks for this man, definitely saved me some serious money. I had some transition lenses that were in some so called "Flexon/virtually unbreakable" frames, and while cleaning it one day, the bridge came apart aeperate the 2 sides. Crazy waste of money, luckily I can get similar type frames and pop these bad boys in. Thanks!
Thank you! I have plastic Ray Bans and my lens was just laying next to the glasses when I woke up the next day. I couldn't take them back because I'm out of town. I tried other optometrists and Designer /Specialty eyewear boutiques. They were no help. Well one did offer to send them out and have them reset for $195 and it would take 6 to 8 weeks. No thank you! I always google and yTube search everything, why not putting in my glasses lens. After too many videos that wasn't about plastic frames or having me use a fingernail file to remove enough of the edges to make it fit. I was going to look at one more video if it's like the others ill just buy new ones in the morning. Yours was not like the others and I will not be getting new ones. I did what you said to do. It took several tries but that lens popped right back in. If I could add before and after pictures or even a video I would. You have blessed me and I truly thank you. I had surgery on my temple in March. I couldn't see clearly after it. I couldn't work or do anything. I had to wait to heal then go get my eyes checked for glasses. I only had them for a week and woke up with the lens out. I couldn't see or do anything for over 5 months. Im able to see again because of you. I won't have to wait again.
