  • If grilling a whole fish sounds intimidating to you, I’m here to tell you that it’s simpler than it sounds and well worth the effort. This whole-grilled branzino with preserved lemon dressing is special and celebratory, and a perfect excuse to switch up your summer grilling routine. This episode of Home Movies is mostly about how to grill the fish, but it’s also about how to take that grilled fish and turn it into a full-blown dinner, filled with extremely easy salads and casual sides that use up all the perfect summer produce.

I used to despise olives until my husband and I went to an Italian restaurant and they served freshly toasted crispy fluffy bread with finely chopped olives in olive oil. I thought they were mushrooms for a year! I now tolerate it on pizza. My mom also made a Middle Eastern lamb in gravy that had preserved lemons and olives, and it made the olive taste milder.

SE Asian native here - we use banana leaves to wrap the fishes and grill them, whether on the grill, on the pan or directly on the stove. It keeps the fish intact, the moist and much easier to handle, consume and clean. Which I might try the recipe because it looked very easy with very simple ingredients.
