- Mini Life Update & 2020 Reading Goals // Chit-Chat
Hello! I hope you enjoyed this chit-chat type of video where I just talk to you about my life and tell you some goals I have for 2020. I want to do more chit-chatty videos in the future (inspired by Conan Gray’s older videos) because I find them calming to watch, so if you have any specific topics that you want me to talk about or specific activities you want me to do while I chit-chat, please let me know!
If you enjoyed this type of content, be sure to like the video and share it with a friend! It helps me out a lot.

I feel like if you’d named this video “Why I Quit Book Riot” it could have been the booktube equivalent of “Why I Left Buzzfeed” hahaha 💕
DEAD 😂😂 i was going to do that but it isn’t that deep i just want to be paid more lmaao
I totally get what you mean about YA. I wish new adult was a bigger genre because I love reading about characters in college/early 20’s
SAY IT LOUDER !!! I wish New Adult was taken more seriously by publishers rather than having authors force their characters to be teens when they most certainly dont speak or act like teens (six of crows)
@@StoriesForCoffee Omg I feel this soooo much! Like when I was reading it, every time it was mentioned Kaz was 17, I straight up rejected it. I was like, "No, he's around 24-25." It would just make the story make a whoooole lot more sense!
I love the way you express yourself, you are always so eloquent :)
I love this kind of video! I love hearing other people's goals and aspirations, and what worked for them and what didn't. My goal is to read more nonfiction, start watching anime again and start to play games again :)
I hope you can complete all your goals !! ♥️♥️ thank you for watching and enjoying !
I love that you want to do more chit chat videos 😍 as for more ideas I rrly loved that Q&A video you did with decorating your chair idk what you call it, but you can do that or something similar as you talk about dream places you'd live to vacation/visit, first movie you can recall really loving, where you see yourself after college and such. And for more bookish talks ig you can talk about specific things you love in books or even don't like, books you think you highly recommend and which you'd recommend the most, etc. 😊
Thank you for these ideas!!! I’m most definitely doing one where I talk about my love for movies soon!
I love chatty videos, they’re so relaxing to watch 🥰
One of my goals is to read more books written by Italian authors (I’m Italian) focusing on Italian books that have been translated into other languages :)
I really enjoyed watching this chatty bookish/life video! My goal for 2020 is to read the books that I’ve been wanting to read for a long time instead of focusing on all the current releases that everyone else is reading now. There are some 2020 releases that I want to read, but I don’t want to pressure myself to read all of them just because they’re popular right now :)
totally get what you're saying about YA, been feeling the same recently as well. love this video so much 💕
I’m so glad i’m not alone in these feelings 😫
I've had the same last year - I focused too much on the numbers (200 books), but lost out on quality. I want books that will affect me, change me and make me a better person.
The lesser quality YA is just like blockbuster feel-good, but ultimatly a little empty - I still want to read YA fantasy because I think the best YA bridges all ages and has enough depth to be universal.
I think I also listen too much to recommendations from others rather than listening for that inner response - that inner 'lighting up' when you know you really want to read a book, and it will just fit with you
I'm moving towards more contemporary and adult fiction - and reading the classics ive missed that I have genuine interest in reading. Great vid
Ooooh I have a terrible book memory as well. Keeping a book journal is such a good idea!!
Like this sort of chill video. Love the quantity over quality goal. I went through all my unread books a couple days ago to see how many I had that I still wanted to read and so for me it's a mix of wanting to def lower the number and also read some of these books that while they've been on my shelf for a while I think I'd still enjoy them.
you and this video are so cute!!! loved how chill this video was ❤️❤️
Love this video! And totally think the quality over quantity mentality is a great one to have. But you low key inspired me to watch 100 movies too 😂 I think I pretty much watch the same five over and over again. I definitely need to watch more!! Good luck with your goals 😊
For 2020, my goals are to get over my fear of talking to other people, the only people that I verbally talk to is my parents and my half sister, and my reading, my goal is to read more fantasy and in a way I also want to read longer books, like over 400 - 500 pages, because I want to challange myself in a way by reading longer books.
I wish you all the best with your fear and I hope you gain more confidence in speaking in 2020, and yes join me in reading longer books!
@@StoriesForCoffee thanks, and the thing that I have of my fear of talking to other people, is called selective Mustum, and I have been dealing with this since the age of 5, which was in the year 2009, and after I started kindergarten, just became super shy and anxious from time to time. And with me reading, it helps me because I get go escape from the world that I am in and travel to place that I am reading in, and read books that the characters could be dealing with a similar as me. Thats one reason why I love contemporary books.
More chats! Also I think it would be cool to listen to what you are learning in school.
Loved this video😊
My challenge would be to see 100 movies in a year i really love movies im enjoying discovering your videos and ill keep watching more
I'm inspired to read a hundred books this year because of you and I totally relate on DNFing books (even if I feel guilty haha). I also love the idea of conquering my TBR pile before buying new books. Love from the Philippines 💖
Super excited your community here is growing so much!
It’s so nice to have so many people, who share the same passions, come together 🥺🥰
I would love it if you did movie wrap ups!! I tend to focus so much on reading that I forget I like movies/tv too, and this year I'm really trying to see more movies and tv!
I most definitely will! I think i’ll split it up by every ten movies i see
Thanks for the update! It's inspiring to see how u look on your reading of the past year! I was disappointed on my read of 2019 but I only finish books that I really enjoy! I find it hard to finish those that don't really interest me but I hope for an advise how to finish those since you read books u enjoy and others that interest u less, and thanks again ;)hope u have a great 2020 :)
love that Les Mis mug!
yeess I rewatch movies all the time too :)
good luck with all your goals
Loved this video. I was doodling while listening to you chat. Would love to see more videos like this from you.
I most definitely will make more in the future !
Just recently discover your channel and yes gurrrl I'm already a fan. You're so beautiful, so smart and eloquent. I love the way you talk and share your thoughts so much! Im binge-watching all your videos now. More power!
And as for the question, like you, I wanted to read quality books rather than the quantity. Also I wanted to read more diverse, fantasy books cause for the couple of years, I've only been reading more contemporaries or pure romance novel which I am beginning to outgrown to. Lol if that's even possible. So yeah! That's just it. 😊
Aw thank you for joining me!! I heard the Fifth Season is a wonderful, diverse fantasy series, if you want to check that out !
@@StoriesForCoffee yeees definitely gonna check this one out. Thank you! Omggg!!! 😍😍😊
Hi, great video, i loved your idea of 100 móviles 💚💚, I am doing it to 😊😊😊
Hi Olivia 😀😃
I 'm your new subscriber .
Loads of love from india 🇮🇳
Everything you said about quality vs quantity is why I didn’t post a favorites video on my channel or blog. 2020 is all about switching that up!
YESS time for change !
That's what I do while I am reading I write a summary of the book when it's in a series so that when I want to read the next book in the series I know exactly what happened and all I have to do is read the summary instead of reading the whole book over.
Is there like a Goodreads but for films? Where you can keep track of the films you've watched etc etc
I get what you mean about YA. I’ve also started to step away from YA books because it also just doesn’t relate to me. Do you have any New Adult or Adult fiction books that you find relatable that you could do a recommendation video for?? Great video!!
Yes! I have an Adult Fiction Books for YA Readers video ! czcams.com/video/EBiKknoGmjM/video.html
Interesting that you're going through an AFI list. It'd be interesting if you did a vid on films that you think are good to great but unrewatchable or hard to rewatch.
(I do plan on doing that!)
I really enjoyed this video and I appreciated your emphasis on quality over quantity. I would love to see more chatty videos like this❤️
Thank you for your input! I definitely want to make more chatty videos since everyone is so supportive of it already 🥺
*gets distracted* - me at all times
I’m new to booktube, so what is DNF?
Did not finish :)
