It’s about 12 degrees here and pouring rain.
The best / funniest Alan Hollingsworth book I’ve read is called
    The Folding Star

      Aha, classic summer!
And yes! I’m so excited for that one! It’s been sat on my shelf for ages!

The heat gives your skin a glow. 😉 I would like to get to Rebecca Watson but I'm not sure which one to start with.

Aha, thank you! And I think Little Scratch is a good start, but both could be good initial points!

You sold it well but I think I’ll give the rabbit books a miss all the same 😂 This is how you remember it has gone on my wish list though. I have Little Scratch on my shelf too and really must read it soon.

    I love Hollinghurst's work. ❤️
His writing always seems realistic and as though he depicts slices of true lives.
    Try 'The Folding Star' 😊

I was worried by reviews of the new Watson as they didn't reveal it's continued experimentation, so you have set my mind at rest & I will read now. As for Cusk, I won der if `i can sue for her calling her characters 'G' as per my own 'Three Dreams In the Key Of G"? 😀

Aha, I would love that lawsuit!
I think Little Scratch maybe uses the scattered text effect slightly better, or at least in a more overt and complex way, but I still think the effect in I Will Crash is well done.

    I read one Rachel Cusk
    Second Place
I hated it so much , that I would never read another of her books. I don’t react well to rich, privileged people acting really badly with no consequences.

Aha, totally fair! I did not get on too well with Second Place either!

Parade was awful, so pretentious. At least Second Place had a plot.

Aha, totally fair! Yeah, I think it read more like non-fiction a lot of the time!
