    To each his own. I live in Laguna and I have always preferred The Original. It basically just tastes like buko and nothing else stands out. You should try Sheila's Buko Pie which is a short drive away from The Original, they have one of the finest pies in Laguna and then some.

      The original buko pie...😛.They are cheating, I tasted recently their version and it tasted artificial sweeteners ( sucralose). Their products needs to be investigated by the FDA tested for artificial sweeteners...
      I puked after one bite of their buko pie.

    1. Lety’s for their BIG filling and right sweetness.
    2. Original’s for that familiar and nostalgic taste.
    3. El Mare for that creative punch (I like their ube macapuno pie more than their buko pie, as San Pablo is known more for their ube than their buko). I also like their ‘panadas’ (chicken empanadas).

    You failed to mention that the Los Baños Original is the original because they actually invented buko pie and people of Los Baños take pride in this. However, Letty's, is a local favorite, Original is still the most popular. There are others like Sheila's that are great too. Buko pie tasting like leche flan? Is actually sacrilege. Haha. If you want the leche flan taste, then eat leche flan. In Buko pie, as one of your subjects said, buko is the star. Even the crust must be almost bland so as not to interfere with the buko custard taste. Of course to each his own. Heck, my wife bakes a wonderful buko pie herself! Cheers!

      @kyungsooh Před 2 lety

      @@yrNs-bh2lo Yes every year I get to taste it, and to me, it's still the same one that I grew up eating :) And when I meant my childhood, it's not just the taste but also the overall look of it, and the memories it brings.
