I choose the Ultra because of the combination of display, cameras, and battery, plus the flexibility of Android.
@tom lewis iPhone does not do it better for me. I'm legally blind, so IOS design makes it hard for me to find apps. So the screen size and flexibility make the Ultra ideal for me. As for the cameras,I actually use the cameras to see everyday objects, so the extra zoom range will be a game changer.
That is bad. If for display an battery both, be aware that 120hz will lower battery life by 3h. Also there i soc problem outside us

I have bought my first iPhone ever (the 11 pro not the max) and one of the things that impress me the most about the phone is the sound. Yes, all the other flagships use stereo, dolby atmos etc, but while Apple doesn't have the best audio quality they designed some kind of virtualizer that makes the sound completely inmersive, it feels like the sound comes from around you and not from a small speaker in front of you. This is something worth experiencing in real life.
I have one question for you Aaron, which one would you choose if you didn't have "A lot of Samsung devices or a lot of apple devices".
You missed superfast charging, reverse wireless charging, inbuilt Samsung DeX on S20 Ultra which iPhone doesn't have.
Which realistically is a non issue for the every day user. The iPhone 11 Pro lasts a full day on a single charge with moderate to heavy use. So as long as you charge it by the end of the day when you go to bed, the fast charging won’t be an issue.

@@scott8908 lets assume you're a human and not a robot, you make a spontaneous plan to go out for a few hours but youve been killing you battery thinking you wont need it, a 20 min would go a long way. As for reverse wireless charging, its cool but i dont see anyone using it

Elisha Lewis iOS is much smoother and better integrated with the hardware since the manufacturer who makes the software also makes the hardware. iOS is just a different experience that many people prefer over Android. I am not an Apple fanboy by any means. I switch from Android to iOS every other year and can say both are good in their own rights. But the simplicity and smoothness cannot be matched by Android, from my experience.

bigmaxcc iPhone 11 Pro user here. It’s my impression that Samsung’s cameras capture most colours more accurately that Apple. All my iPhones’ photos have had a distinct and annoying yellow hue. I wouldn’t call it warm as such, just yellow and usually more bright.
vondahe photographer here. The Samsung colour processing is not accurate. It’s often times too saturated and the sharpening and noise reduction is very harsh. This means faces are usually way too soft. But I think when it comes down to photos it’s really personal preferences. Really you are going to be the one looking at your photos

@@vondahe Although my observation is that Samsung colour science shifts towards warmer tones as well. The google pixel on the other hand, often selects a much cooler tone. The tonal mapping on both the 11 pro and Note 10 plus is excellent. I am however, a bit disappointed in Samsung for putting the "wrong" (subjective) sensor in the s20 phones this year. Even with pixel binning, the cameras are slow to focus, and are generally darker and has more motion blur than the s10 and note 10 line ups. Samsung tries to mitigate the small size of the pixels with a larger aperture as well, however, this created a very shallow depth of field, meaning only a few things in frame can be in perfect focus. This causes objects on the edge of the frame to be either out of focus, or covered in chromatic aberration (rainbow halo around an object). And although the 8k videos are cool on paper, I was told that the camera hunts for focus consistently and has trouble locking a subject in focus. All of this makes me think the ultra tries a bit too hard spec-wise that it ignored some vital factors that makes good photos. Therefor the s20's photos often times looks better than the ultra's...
So apparently I just found out the telephoto camera on the S20 and S20+ only has a 1.06x optical zoom. So the 3x zoom is all digital. That is shady marketing though! :O

12:47 I’m pretty sure the second lens you listed is actually the telephoto. I’ve seen a lot of tech reviewers mess this up. Even on apples website that lens is listed as telephoto. Good video regardless.

Already chose .. the Ultra .. I bought the 11 max Pro 256 gb but decided to sell box unopened.. then pre ordered the Ultra 128gb (cheaper than IPhone ).. got it and happy. 120 hz is insane I can fell the difference now from 60 hz displays..
Still want to get the 11 Pro max to replace my secondary iPhone 7 plus .. the pro is beast but couldn't rely on ios as primary phone . Will wait until pro price drops or get it second hand or refurbished

Great comparison! Granted, both are great in their own right, but almost incomparable due to the vastly different ecosystem. Doesn't make much sense to switch from the one you're invested in for a spec smidgen here or there I reckon.

You had the iPhone pointed at the adjacent phone, the Samsung, playing external sound bouncing off of it.
That's probably why it sounded "louder" and the Samsung was pointed outwards in the open room.
That could have lead to the "duller" sound from Samsung's S20 Ultra. (Technical observation)

having been on s20 ultra for almost a month now, I gotta say, this device is a beast. The 120hz refresh is something you need to experience. Photos and the 4k video are amazing, clear , chrisp and ready for professionals to take advantage.
Got a hell of a deal on a lease through Sprint, so the $1500 wont really be $1500 unless I choose to buy it at the end.
On a side note, (pun intended) I turned in the Note 9 to get this and I must admit, I kinda miss the pen.

Good review. Both r great phones but the Ultra pretty much does everything the iphone does and then some. The Ultra has a superior display and that huge, hideous outdated notch on the iphone has to go! The Ultra also has valuable tools like reverse wireless charging which allows u to charge ur smart watch or earbuds right on the back of ur phones.

This is absolutely the truth. If you like Android get the S20, if you’re in the ecosystem then iPhone is the only way to go, and like you said, 5-6 years of updates is awesome.

If you enable 120hz you get 4 hours of screen on time but if you have 60hz enabled you get 8-10 hours of screen on time, and dont get me started on medium power saving that will get you to 2 or even 2 1/2 days on standby. Maximum power saving will get you half a week of battery life on the S20 Ultra.

I was the opposite. My family had iPhones to around 5 then we tried Android and never went back. My parents hate Iphones and so do I. How stupid is the Itunes setup before you can use the phone. They make it so hard to copy files onto your phone.

I love Android, I'm even a Android developer, but what makes me stay on the iOS is just the touch controls infrastructure, the animations and touch components are just better developed from root, you can see this, by just picking some app, that have multiple components and touch every components with every one of your fingers, you will see that in iOS all the components will behavior for each finger, this generates that 'smooth' feeling and UX that only iOS can deliver sadly, in games you will not notice that, but in overall do the test you will see.

It all comes down to personal opinion and apple does alot of things well that in some ways does better than android but apple fans can be very diluted just because its apple it must be the best. I really hope the new iPhone comes with a way to pay at more credit card terminals like Samsung Pay. I've recently upgraded my work phone to an iPhone 11 Pro and I'm loving it so far, but I miss being able to use my phone to pay for things at 99% of most card terminals. Apple Pay is amazing if there's a credit card terminal that accepts it, but so many places don't.

In my opinion iPhone will always have best quality over Samsung/mostly all android phones. There cameras are mega high megapixel yet seem to be blurry and pixelated. Never had a issue with iPhone cameras and also very clear 💯🙏

I was a galaxy holder from the 1st galaxy to the note 9 plus. 2 weeks ago my note 9 started messing up. I'm a contractor and uses a lot of memory on my phone for messages and notes of measurements and word files. They didn't have the note 10 plus in stock so I decided to try out the 11maxpro. The quality of the iPhone is very very high. With that said. Everything was a living hell for me for 5 days. I tried to give it 15 days but I just couldn't. The android smallest functions is what Apple lacks. Quick dial, caller ID on text messages i receive. Its just very limited. Again I grew up with android only but I'm glad Ithats what I uses. I switched back and got the ultra 20. Its good phone but would prefer the note 10 plus because no matter what people say, the stylus still helps alot
I love iOS so that’s why I would choose the I phone but I would say the s20 ultra is the better phone all round

It’s graphics are the same and it is definitely smoother on s20 ultra.
Honestly this even since I started using smartphones I'm swapping . My first phone was Galaxy Nexus, then iPhone 6 , Samsung S8+ and now iPhone11 pro. ALL of them are amazing it's a matter of choice nowdays, same price , same specs and performance just the OS is diffrent. I went for the iPhone just because I wanted a small phone.
Doesn't matter which you will buy they are amazing phones.

I switched from the S10 to the iphone 11 pro max and my biggest concern was the camera. I was super pleased with the s10, but I wanted to try out an iPhone again after some years. I don't exactly know why but I looked at the photos that the iPhone made and the quality looked very poor to me. The phone is out since 5 months so I was like Apple has definitely made the camera nice by now but I was not pleased at all. The rest of the phone was good though, everything looked very clean and never experienced such a good battery life on any other smartphone. Well because of the camera and no SD card slot I bought the S20 ultra. I watched a lot of videos with critic about it and I am sure that those videos very true for the most part. I wanted to give it a try and I am really happy that I did. I am feeling much more comfortable using the One UI and having a lot of options. To me camera is also a lot better than the iphone's camera, the front camera is a draw to me as I like them both. The S20 is far away from a great software optimalisation but I am sure Samsung will fix a lot issues. Those issues didn't bother me yet so I am really optimistic to see what Samsung can pull off with new updates.

i choose the apple Ecosystem because it has a lot more offer..... for instance im a dj i use an iMac to edit my music then i can just airdrop it to my macbook pro or because im using iTunes (running Mojave its more stable to me) its available on all my devices and when i update a playlist on the iMac every device gets updated instantly working with video files is the same

I just did a Speedtest on my iPhone 11 Pro from my bed and got 135/58 Mbit on 4G.
I’ve always been a speed freak but I honestly don’t know what I’d use more speed on my phone for. 5G may have some uses but I wouldn’t spend a penny more to get that.
S20 ultra is a beast. The iPhone just doesn’t cut it.

I give the Korean guys some credit for throwing everything possible into the phone. Some of the stuff is half-baked and a little rough but I understand their strategy. Which is not how Apple does things. Apple only implements stuff after the tech has been worked out, usually. So buy the Apple iPhone to get a well balanced and prestigious product and buy the Samsung if you are spec fiend and can't bear to be part of the Apple fold.
Actually that title goes to Oneplus and this comes from a fact that even though Samsung provided those 90Hz panels to Oneplus but they did not use that themselves (as they knew that their display panel had a flickering issue in low light). Oneplus always go for the highest thing that they can provide according to spec sheets and their Oxygen OS is a much, much better UI than Samsung's. The only thing Samsung is better at is camera(miles ahead of Oneplus).Also Oneplus seems like a hypocrite(to me) as their goal(initially) was to build the so called "flagship phones" at a reduced price(Eg. OP3,OP3T,OP5) but now they actually offer phones that demand a premium.With brands like Xiaomi, Realme offering actual flagship killers at a reduced price(Eg K20pro, X2pro) they are actually providing better spec/price ratio than OP. Note that I said spec/price ratio and not Performance as their are many variables to be undertaken here. Oxygen OS is far more refined for performance than Xiaomi's MIUI but there is a thin line b/w Realme's UI and Oxygen OS
I feel Samsung should work more on their UI and make it snappy and then it will actually be comparable in the performance scenario(also they should work on their Exynos SOCs as they are worse than their Snapdragon counterparts sold in the US markets).
@@h1stacean Uhhh have you tried One UI? It's the most one handed friendly UI with useful features that Google tends to implement only years later.
Also Exynos will be amazing next year combining ARM cores with AMD GPU.
@@h1stacean the performance of the exynos is actually on par with the snapdragon. It even has a better single core score.
The only issue is power efficiency. Battery life on exynos sucks.
@@Abdulrahman11799 But it's glitchy and slow. Also to me it comes with preloaded bloatware like bixby and also uhhhhh have you tried Oxygen OS? It feels so much faster and smoother than all those transitions on One UI seem so slow. Although One UI looks better.Also Samsung doesn't seem to care to listen to their customers to remove bixby and all the useless "customisations" they provide. Oneplus at least listens to it's users on it's community. What about the McAfee installed on the S10?
Also I'm a practical man- If I buy a phone I don't care about the benchmarks if they don't translate to real world performance. I have seen a S9(Asian market version) not getting the option to achieve peak frame rates in PUBG mobile(Same goes for S8-no extreme frame rate option on smooth graphics while my one plus 5 with SD835 could achieve it and theoretically S8 should too as the US market version does). You could say that it's a problem with the developers and I could say yes but they might also know the thermal throttling that samsung forces in One UI and so to stabilise framerate they might not have done this.

And no its not useless. Its literally one of the reasons why people prefer Samsung over others like one plus. Customization is amazing.
Wrong samsung does listen to their customers. They made display less curvey they removed bixby button and allowed user to chose. If anything one plus doesn't listen to its customers
Also there isn't any thermal issues. Especially not with apps like geforce which allow you to push your phone to the limit so that's not an excuse.

I have had so many phones over the years but stuck with Apple last 4 or 5 upgrades and think they are the best. Like someone else said though it's about the ecosystems. I moved from Windows to Imac's about 4 years ago and never looked back.. Now owning mostly Apple gear it all works so nicely together I can't see me ever turning back. The Iphone 11 Pro is an amazing phone!
