Samsung's Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G packs some awesome new camera tech, including a 108MP main camera, a 48MP periscope telephoto lens, a 12MP ultra-wide and a 40MP front-facing selfie camera!
Those are all really great specs, but can the S20 Ultra prove itself in this unbiased camera comparison where Vadim has no idea which phone took which photo?
The iPhone 11 Pro Max performed extremely well in the camera department the last time we tested it, even with it being limited to 12MP on each of the cameras.
The Pixel 4 has been known for having excellent software for photo-taking, but there are some issues with it as you'll see in this video.
Be sure to take out a pen and paper so you can tally up which phone you think performed the best!

The ultra is the best in taking environment but when it comes to taking someone the skin smoothing is a problem samsung need to do something about this in update

When it comes to portrait shots and generally taking shots of humans, Samsung software holds back the impressive hardware
I agree. Other functions like focusing, long-disposure shots which need software processing don't look so good. Hope they update it better.
As someone who has the 11 pro, I was really surprised with the s20. A picked a lot of those images just due to the overall sharpness. Which is crazy as samsungs typically smooth a lot of the detail.
Samsung tends to smooth faces, but not the scenery. That's been typical over the years. I've had the S7 Edge and now the 9 plus. I just hope the update(s) fix a few things like auto focus, especially close up.

Im a Samsung user, and most of my choices were for the iPhone. A lot of the pictures that it produces look so damn great, gg iPhone.

I've been doing photography for 10 years. With results of these 3 models so close, one has to pixel peep or see side by side to notice the difference. If we want our images to stand out, focus on perfecting photography skills (ability to see lighting, composition, moment, telling stories). These will really make the impact to your audience. Similarly I enjoy your videos not because of what video camera you are using, what the content and information you provide.
I so agree with you. It's not just a matter of hardware and the phone you have, it's how you compose your shots and how creative you can be. I'm not saying the hardware doesn't matter at all, but you can always improve the color, contrast, and even the sharpness after you've taken the shot. But if a photo is boring it's just boring and you can do nothing about it.
This isn't a review of the photography, this is a review of the equipment.

I was like wow S20 was amazing in that test and the Deepfusion came into the game and just killed it from that point.
I think they should have done the same with the s20 ultra and enabled the 108mp to 12mp binning technology.

One of the best photo comparison vids out there! Great job guys, especially as once again you're one of the only creators to try a set of moving object photos. My Samsung phones have always been terrible with motion blur and with young kids' birthday parties indoors, this is a big issue

I like how close the iPhone 11 Pro and S20 Ultra cameras are in these tests never being that far off from each other.
Mostly chose the iPhone and second was the s20 ultra. I´m absolutely in love with deep fusion and the colors of iPhone but when it comes to zoom its a def win for samsung!

I’ve been a confirmed Samsung user for years. My whole ecosystem is Samsung but my family talked me into the iPhone so I bought the 11 pro Max and I love it! Most of my pictures are exceptional with the only caveat being the nighttime selfie disaster. I chose the 11 photos pretty consistently throughout your video...confirms to me that I made the right choice for my needs!

Should have done 12mp at night for binning (like Deep Fusion) for the S20 Ultra. Besides that, good comparison but wish it would have had the update first.
It forces you into the 12MP binning mode for night mode photos.

He probably use the full 108mp for the night mode instead of the binning
The result is no light for the sensor because it has 0.8um instead of 2.4um
I think those channels didnt took it with the 108mp lens - saw a lot of awesome nightshots too
@@kwaaashii I see but why would he do that if he knew the effects of it in lower lighting. In other reviews it was capturing more details in mid to dark lighting than those other devices in comparison I was getting confused in getting mixed results here
That is the magic of the iPhone. As you can see the S20 Ultra is so inconsistent that it is sometimes unusable. The iPhone is making everything for you and you don't have to change mode or to do whatever really. It is done for you. Apple is the king in that area
@@davout5775 I dont want to enter these debates, but in other videos the S20 was doing better than the iPhone the night time photos were just crazy the details it captured it was insanely sharp, but you could tell with this video their just Apple lovers when the Samsung won they had those faces like huh whut. Everytime I want to watch a camera comparison I go do Danny, that guy is so good and not biased, gives you the real stuff, i would advice you go check his videos he uploaded you will see what I mean
It's a great video, but u should use the 108Mp at daylight and the 12Mp in the nighnt because 108Mp has really small sensor size/pixel!

The iPhone 12 Pro is rumored to be stepping up to a 64 megapixel sensor on all three lenses. Please rerun the comparison then.

HSE2inc The main thing that’s pushing this is the advent of 8k televisions on the market. They’re really pushing them even though none of the studios are putting out 8k content. So, they’re trying to make the consumer create the content, then have to buy an 8k television to justify it.

It’s always evolving, there is always something new and better coming. It’s a never ending loop. Any comparison needs to be made against what you can buy right now. If you want to wait, it’s a perpetual exercise. iPhone 13 pro will have just 3 months of genuine market space before it has competition from s21. Then we have 6 months of rumoured 13 pro. You can’t think as you have written. You will never do or achieve anything.
The next iPhone is the my21 model year just as the current iPhone 12 is the 2020 model year phone. That’s the year the bulk of its consumer demand is set to service. Anything launched in the 4th quarter is actually designed to service the market for the following 12 months.

Night mode on the Ultra should be set at 12mp binned. Much better than 108 MP. Ultra clearly doesn't focus well close up, hopefully an update fixes that because mine is on the way😬
The ultra doesn’t allow you to take 108MP photos with night mode. It forces you to use 12MP binning.

Paul Cottreau something isn’t right in this test compared to others specific to night mode. This format is way better but the night mode points to either a problem with this phone or other comparisons being corrupted.

Yes, indeed. Also, both iPhone and Pixel 4 horribly overexposing photos. Color accuracy is just absurd. If the guy says "it was completely black" , and then we have something with like late twilight skies, bright blue or whitish, it seems kinda artificial to me.

Thanks for making the most unbiased comparison on CZcams! As a Samsung guy, I feel the need to throw out something that most people don't realize. You can actually download and install the Google Pixel software on the S10 and S20, allowing you to use the Pixel photo software, combined with the excellent cameras of the S20. It's pretty incredible once you do that! Also, Pro Mode on the S20 Ultra - assuming you know what you're doing - blows every other phone camera away by a mile xD
And no, this is not a fanboy post! I actually picked Pixel 3x, and iPhone once. Although once you're familiar with the blur, grading, and saturation of the cameras, it's pretty easy to pick the Samsung out of the group :P
