And secondly why ever think that children are retarded... children know what alcohol is and they know what a bar is. Their parents drink alcohol and and go to bars. And they can see all this on TV. Children are very observant and definitely not stupid. They know what alcohol is, who drinks it, and that they're not allowed to. I think it's time to stop making these idiotic decisions that paint the world pink for somebody who doesn't need it anyway. And thirdly why would it ever be wrong to have a Lego bar, but it's not wrong to have all those aggression themed sets like: Lego Castle (people killing each other), Lego Pirates (Pirates were ruthless thieves, murderers and rapists), Lego Star Wars: the Empire is nothing else but a Nazi-/Communist-style dictatorship who doesn't even shy from committing mass murder in the form of blowing up whole planets, but they're presented as being cool-looking Lego's. (and no, nobody wants or likes the rebel-packs, those guys are boring. except the X-Wing and the Millenium Falcon) But hey, a little bottle of fake-beer will ruin our kids... jeeeez the hypocrisy
alexthegrape1000 if all the sets were like this, then most people would buy like one or two sets every year and Lego would bankrupt... the set is great, but the money they want for it is through the roof. Only a limited amount of people will ever buy this set just because of the pricing... I mean come on, with the money you spend on this set you can buy a new laptop and that thing doesn't just stand there, it can actually do lots of things!

I did a quick search on Amazon in Germany and it was about 280€!!! and with 280 I can buy a nice 11inch notebook that I can use for my study and take to the library, to courses etc.. Or I can add another 100€ and get a decent all-rounder. If i want to buy the Simpson's House as well I will even get close to an ok-ish gaming-PC. Don't get me wrong, I love Lego and I think this set is great, but they're quite an expensive toy, even if they have replayability. Maybe they're even overpriced, even though a lot of AFOLs would go mad at this statement. At some point you're just going to build something and then it will just be forgotten somewhere and gather dust. It's something for collectors and traders though, which is the reason why it's so expensive in the first place. But at the end of the day it's still a plastic toy that can't do that much.
***** No: you can get a nice 11inch Intel dual-core notebook with 5h of battery-life, 500GB etc for just 220€ in Germany. Good enough for anything you need at the university and on the fly (train, air plane, stupid waiting...) as long as you're not an architect or graphics designer :)

This set is just perfect. Perfect for a fan and a lego fan. It is just stuffed full of small detailed peaces that are all very need which you can use for other things. And about refrences you're good to. You can't tell (for what lego can do and has done for this set) is overall perfect
I rate this set 100/10 because it has SSSSOOOOO much DETAILS inside and that's what I love about big expensive LEGO sets they just have so much detail inside but on the outside not so much as the inside

This set is an EASY candidate for not only set of the year, but best LEGO set in a LONG time. Best part is you don't even have to be a Simpsons fan to appreciate the effort and care that clearly went into making this fantastic set. Not to mention with all the mini builds, stickers and prints this set is MOCer heaven! And as usual I am envious of your ability to cover so much detail in such a short amount of time Jang! A few other channels had there version up earlier but every time I saw the piece to hold up the garbage door and the slopes on the freezerpart with Jasper in it they were left unmentioned. This is an awesome Lego license series because all of the sets for I have closed of houses or buildings and are pretty good to go to the mini figures plus all of the mini figures have new head printing
I remember this video made me get this set and it was an awesome build, unfortunately my little sister also liked it and broke the whole thing and mixed all pieces her LEGO bin. :(

Kinda disappointed it did not have any duff beer accessory. All in all it is something if you love the show should have. If you love Lego of course as well.
No way Lego, a child’s toy company, would promote the inclusion of alcoholic beverages in their sets, regardless of how iconic or accurate it would’ve been.
One problem I have found with Lego is that they rarely use 'special' pieces. Mega Bloks often use one big piece for a cockpit window, for example. If this set had used these special pieces, the roof windows could be one piece each, being more transparent and letting more light in.
It would be nice if Lego staff not being lazy on designing Homer,Marge and Bart facial expression or atleast new body print,those 3 are exactly the same as the minifig series.
katamari84 They're not lazy, at all. LEGO designers work harder and longer on a given set than you can imagine, and they have to contend with a ton of constraints almost nobody ever recognizes. Each set is given a budget, and that budget cannot be exceeded, else the set cannot be put to market. If every minifig was all new, it would likely have required a portion of interior detail to be removed.

I really enjoy this. It's iconic of the Simpsons show, and it's packed full of detail and little references to episodes and stuff. Best of all I think is that it's versatile. You don't necessarily have to use Simpsons figures with the set. If anything, I think you could just swap the heads off the figures included for normal Minifig heads if you don't like the Simpsons heads, and just plop this into the middle of a LEGO City. It's really cool, thanks for the review, Jang :)
Just built this set and it is great. I also noticed from your video I had missed a sticker off the store room door as well as the cups on the coffee machine so it was useful for me in that respect :) Will be getting the Simpsons house next as well as all the series 2 mini figures.
Retails. Details. Details.I like the telephonebooths with lines and electricity lines of the outside airco. I like the coffeemachine. I like the complete salesmen island. I like the catchy phrase: Yesterdays foods at tomorrow's prices. I like it all sooo much. Minor detail overlooked: the hatch of the car can be opened. All summed up together: Lego likes to compete with MOC-makers.
i love it i got it today i didnt finish it yet but it has been very fun to build so far. I just love the details on the inside and the merchandise that comes with the lego set, i cant wait to start it again.
I think the doors on the roof could lead to the small room in the back, since I noticed there was a brick built ladder made from multiple panels there.

I pretty sure you can buy some small Power Function lights, and you get them, cut the connector off and just wire it up to a Double A battery or so, Would look cool!

The designers of this set went absolutely nuts with the minor details that most people probably wouldn't notice. It is expensive, but it's worth it.

The phone prints are there because in the simpsons it’s like a label to show that they are phones
