For the price, the " GRINGOT TS" sticker is unforgivable. How did that get passed any kind of quality control.
LEGO Quality Control was like: "It's perfect...too perfect. We gotta give fans something to tinker with!" 😂
And he's going around the set, talking about all the stickers one by one, but then conveniently skips the GRINGOT TS sticker.

THAT WOULD BE BADASS! My ideal Jabba's Palace set would be an MBS set with Jabba's throne room on top of the Rancor pit, including all the characters from scene (Luke, Boush, Han, Jabba, SBC, Oola, Boba Fett, Bib Fortuna, the Gamorean Guards, C3PO, R2-D2,), the droid torture room, and the Carbonite room!

Maybe put the letters as close to the edge as possible and fold the rest of the sticker over, thats my plan for it anyway, or cut the rest off

The number of stickers is a big let down. For the price it should have mostly printed parts. Probably gonna pass on this set. One, due to the price. Two, due to all the stickers. I hate stickers.

I love the sorcerer's stone in this set. It's the exact same piece and color as the one in the classic first wave mirror and Voldemort set. Gives me fuzzy and fluffy nostalgic feelings.

I like other themes more than Harry Potter, but this set is really unique. David made an excellent review, I am just going to add one thing I find very appealing. It is very difficult to capture weird angles with Lego, most sets are all straight lines and right angles. This set really elevates Lego to a different level with the quirkiness of the angles and the overall architecture, and the uniquely appealing diorama design. This set tells a story just by looking at it! I am seriously thinking buying it even though i may not have to buy another Lego for many months afterwards 😅
Yeah, I also think this set in particular is one of their most unique of all time and will be *highly* sought after shortly after discontinuation.

Really love the vertical stackable design of all this! It just works so well in so many ways. You can display the "basement" and building, display it separately, display it with the rest of Diagon Alley. Incredible.
I still maintain that sets over the 200ish mark should have no stickers. Especially when they’re 18+ collectors sets.
They’re often a deal breaker for me.
There’s just no excuse for stickers in such expensive sets.

the fact that they don't put only printed pieces, despite it not really being that difficult for lego, in these extremely expensive collector edition sets is disappointing and somewhat cheap of lego considering their self proclemation that they're a premium product, but other cheaper brick products have way more printed pieces in even their cheap sets

YYEEEEESSS!! I have been wanting to see a review for this set for SO LONG! This is the one few hundred dollar Lego set that I think I will get as a centerpiece to my very modest Lego Harry Potter collection. It's a very important location I don't have that's scaled to minifigures, has amazing functionality, looks breath-taking, and contains lots of exclusive pieces and desirable figures. Best Harry Potter set by far! Finally, a huge 18+ Lego set that isn't just big for the sake of being big, but big for the functionality! I mean, it comes with a dragon! How cool is that?!
It’s not “Perfectly Fine” with everyone! Just give us the top part of Gringotts with dragon for $250 so we can display it with Diagon as intended.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so disappointed with this set! I just wanted Gringotts to go with Diagon- this is WAY too expensive to buy and then not use half the set! After all the waiting, I will not be buying this.
The underside section (vault) should have been truly optional. Why not just offer a 2-in-1-Box (like Supersets before), or a simple hook-and-loop tape?
Only reason I’m not buying it is because I have nowhere to put the bottom half. And I can’t bring myself to essentially pay $200 for legos that I will not even use. Basically throwing away $200

14:10 Is absolutely my preferred version as well. It's nice to see how many different configurations exist though. This set is stunning!! It makes me want to decorate the extra room in my house for so I can totally nerd out in my zoom meeting office room. It makes me want to create like an underground entire diorama even though I am not creative or skilled enough to do that 🤣 but my dream wants to see a room like that with raised special glass casings and all that
I'm glad that the cracked columns are printed, but the front sign should have been printed to fix the spacing of the letters.

This is the best review I seen of this set! Glad you didn’t rag on the Gringot ts sign. Heard it too many times. However … I would love to see a tutorial fix for that obvious flaw. Maybe you could do a mini on how best to cut, space and apply those stickers. Or not. Perhaps they don’t bother you.
Personally I think Lego should have just made a huge Gringotts bank with more teller booths and more detail because if you take off the Gringotts to display with the Diagon alley set ( which I think most people would want to do) then what do you do with the lower half? It looks pretty lame just having it sit by itself without the bank on top. Huge missed opportunity on Lego's part to make a BIG UCS style Gringotts with full interior and detail.
hmmm, I am not sure if I agree. This was meant to go with the Diagon Alley set, the scale feels like it's matching all the other buildings. You're right that the lower half is a bit lost at that point though.
@@ReubenVictoor Actually, Gringott's is supposed to be much larger and wider than the rest of the buildings on Diagon Alley. Watch the movie and look at the photos. So, it's not on scale with the other buildings. The lower half is completely unnecessary!
YES!!!!!!! The lack of detail inside Gringotts is so sad! I was expecting a really amazing Gringotts build, not a boring Gringotts and a bunch of useless track. The Gringotts sticker, the boring chandelier, the way you can see the e terror brick pattern from the inside, and how the bank doesn’t feel grand at all- such a lost opportunity!
I am building an elevated wood platform with a hole for the lower section. So, all my alley + gringotts will be at the same level while vaults part still attached.
If only we got a Jedi Temple to this level of detail!
My intention is to have this piece with the Diagonne Alley but I intend to raise the alley to the level of Gringotts and leave the subterranean part as attached and place in the centre of the 4 feet wide table with the School and other pieces running along the front. Separated by height I think this will differentiate the 2 parts of the Harry Potter range

I’m very confused as to why the Gringotts sign, which should be prioritized as it’s literally the name of the building and set, uses two stickers which ruin the front of the set. Despite this, inside the bank there are printed pieces which Lego would normally just use stickers for. Very strange and honestly disappointing.

My partner works for a Lego store and she sometimes gets to bring a set home to build for the store, she had a choice of this or the concord, I’m a Star Wars collector but I could not resist the chance to build this, as I’m taking a quick CZcams break and I’m 4 bags down.

Great video. Your review does make the set more appealing then I first gave it credit for but the split Gringotts sticker on the front is still annoying. It does look better then Hogwarts express in play ability. I think it is epic to see it can match up with Diagonal Alley in multiple ways. I might hold off on getting due to the price point and see if it goes on sale anywhere else or if I magically become rich. lol.
This set makes me want to start collecting Lego Harry Potter.
Will be a first day buy for me.
And I'll probably transform it into two baseplates, to align with my fully modular Diagon Alley ...
Oh wow, I had no idea that you were also a Harry Potter fan, I thought it was just Star Wars. This is on my wish list for sure. I agree with you that there were less stickers but its nice the set is modular and that the base can be separated from the bank part on top. The rail car is super sweet. I am thinking maybe next year I might pull the trigger. Thank so much for the great reveal/review. BTW - do you ever visit TX, would love to meet you in person at a fan event someday.
I think he forgot about the Hogwarts icons set 76391 with the huge Hedwig was an awesome set!
If I had unlimited ressources, I believe I still wouldn't look at this as the top item for the UCS HP.
I count 5 sets as being a part of the line so far, and here is my ranking
- microscale Hogwarts
- Edwig and other icons
- the Hogwart's express
- Gringotts
- Diagon Alley
The five of them are really decent, and the last on my personnal tierlist is still something I had at least considered buying once.
The reason why I put the last two where they are is because they need each other to complete the look. I can see gringotts packing a lot more stuff than diagon alley on it's own, but if you purchase them together, you can't really do anything with the cave parts because you need the building to stand next to each other, so a good half of the set is hard to expose.
The express is iconic, but a bit complicated to display, and the competition is stronger.
Edwig is absolutely amazing, has a lot of presence and is cheap compared to the others
The castle is the most recognizable feature of the eight movies, and the set packs a lot of references picked in the whole saga. It works on his own, and is also the only one at this particular scale. The build process is a bit tedious though, mostly because of the stickers.
I don't have enough space and money to buy them all, so I'll gladly stay with the two I already own, being my top two on this list.

I don’t know much about Harry Potter but this is an awesome set
First of all i really think the Set looks awesome. Second i have to say that i do not understand a 50+ Sticker sheet in a 430$ Set. The gap in the Gringotts Bank lettering freaks me out and i really think this could be solved in a better way. In my opinion Lego needs to print at least in the 200$+ Sets otherwise i think they do not appreciate their Fans enough.
Off topic but giving what they did with this not to mention the DB I'm fully confident the new avengers tower will be the best marvel set to ever do it.
